We have stayed at the Valle Mar many times & were pleased with our stay & now always go to the live music when Natalia Cordero is there as do lots of people however our experience of the food we received was very disappointing & certainly not to the standard expected of a 4 star hotel.We had pizza that was dried up & unappetising & very mediocre chips.Sadly we can't recommend the food in the Bangosol Cafe.

Very well maintained and quite good value. Really big and was never packed when I was there. There is snack foods and drink available. Umbrellas are an extra charge Safe and clean place to swim. Sea water pools and not warm.

The good: the rooms are spacious, the dining room has lovely views, the bar and waiting staff are very professional and friendly, there are a few English tv channels in the room and a fridge, the rooftop bar and swimming pool offer a wow factor, plenty of sunbeds. The bad: the rooms need refurbishing, all brown wood panelling that's getting scuffed and it's a bit depressing, beds a bit hard, no kettle in room. No plug sockets near the dressing table - you have to unplug the tv to use hair straighteners. The reception staff are quite rude in that they stop attending to you to answer the phone and then carry on chatting for ages ignoring you, they don't wish you goodbye or anything, the food is varied and plentiful but it's always cold, cold chips, cold bacon, cold fried egg, cold baked beans, cold stews, cold grilled meats. We visited the hotel for our friends wedding and also to have a couple's holiday just us. Room was great for us and well cleaned and fresh towels everyday the housekeeper was brilliant and trustworthy nothing went missing at all she was so friendly as well. Down side our friends also came on same holiday with a young baby and another friend on their own. Their room was bigger and common sense would of been helpful for our friends with the young baby to have that room instead. Our single friends room was really big. The pool area was fab however not great for young babies as no child area but great for older children. The pool has great views. Down side there are a lot of rules at the pool and the pool guy takes these very seriously almost too much. Whilst I appreciate rules to keep us safe it wasn't always needed. A couple who came regular we were told were VIPs were consistently a problem our friends are VIPs they go all the time but it just felt there was also something this particular couple were complaining about. Food and drinks. Staff and food were fantastic all very helpful and delicious couldn't fault it. All in all a superb hotel we would visit again with maybe just minor tweaks to give it a 5/5…

Thanks for another excellent three week stay with a lovely side sea view room with nice bath tub. The Staff were wonderful and nothing was to much trouble and that makes for a relaxing stay . We have booked again for next year in May, and love the hotel and the Town . Cheers.

One of the nicest hotels I have experienced. I have experienced many. The staff are so caring. The food excellent for buffet style and there is the option of a fresh cooked meal. There is always enough variety. The only problem was that I ate too much. My criticism is that the TV has no English channels and that the pick up is 100 mtr away. But this pales to insignificance against the magnificent staff working here and that includes eveyone.

An ideal location, close to taxi rank and train to Loro Park. Great room with great view and ideal for people watching. The balcony does not get any sun until very late in the afternoon (January.) Room and bathroom kept clean and tidy being serviced every day. There is a charge for using the room safe. Felt a bit penny pinching as most hotels don't charge for that anymore. The beds are not very comfortable, being on the hard side. I prefer a firm bed so it was borderline for me but my wife found them very uncomfortable. The double bed is two singles pushed together (it does say on their website and is common in Spain). The biggest disappointment was the food. Tourist numbers were very much down and the hotel only seemed a quarter full so there were low numbers for the buffet dinner. We arrived late on our first night and were greeted by a virtually empty dining room and buffet food that must have been out for a couple of hours and was lukewarm. There was a single steak half cooked on the grill and it was cut in two and served to us. One piece was about 2oz and was half gristle and was like leather. Not a good start for a hotel we chose for their food (from their website). We changed our normal holiday eating time to eat much earlier in an attempt to get warmer fresher food. Lots of it was still lukewarm. We have stayed in a number of hotels who can manage to keep their buffet food warm. They can't seem to do it here. We spoke to another couple who had been regular visitor and they commented how they felt that the food was not up to the usual standard. However the breakfasts were better( busier and more turnover?) and the majority of staff very pleasant and helpul. There is a good selection of wines that were very reasonably priced. A pleasant dining room with fabulous views. We went on a package deal (TUI) who only offer half board. If we return to Puerta de la Cruz we would happily stay here again but try to book b & b and eat out - so many nearby restaurants to choose from.…

I stayed here from 8 - 15 March. As has been stated, its right on sea front, ideal for "people watching. I found the hotel very clean, the staff very obliging and the food excellent. So much choice. The noise from the bars underneath the hotel didn't worry me at all. I did find the beds very hard though. If you are a smoker (which I am) smoking is not permitted on the balcony. In all a very pleasant stay.

we have stayed here on a number of occasions over the years and always enjoyed our stay the food was one of the highlights and also a sea view which is a must, its clean and a pleasant environment to stay, sadly on our last visit the food and taken a turn for the worst both I and my wife had blotted stomachs until 5am not due to be being gluttons but the quality was not good which is sad. Also the prices don't reflect the hotel, it should be cheaper we've stayed in the iberostar Mencay in santa cruz 5* and the prices are similar but big difference in service and overall quality. this hotel is still very good compared with local competitors but really not as good as it was in the past hope it gets back to its old ways as they were must better still recommend but not with so much enthusiasm sorry guys would like to have given you a better review…
