Although I do agree it isn’t a 4* hotel I have found after many holidays that British 4* compared to foreign 4* hotels definitely differ in terms of little extras. Myself, my sister and my 2 year old daughter visited this hotel at the end of June and I have never stayed at a hotel that’s made me feel so safe and comfortable with my child or that is more child friendly. The staff honestly made her holiday, one lady in particular who we didn’t catch her name taught my daughter how to make a love heart with her hands and she still talks about it now 2 weeks after we have come home! They were always playing with her and making her (and us) laugh it was so special and we can’t thank them enough for their time and effort! Hotel wise - those complaining about the food must be extremely fussy. Breakfast there was lots of choice right down to your usual continental, cooked English, cereals, salmon, pancakes, omelettes etc. and the evening meal had similar food like spaghetti and sauce or stew alongside a different theme every night- we experienced Chinese and sushi which were our favourite. Plenty of choice and always delicious and warm. And every night they cook 2 different types of meat or fish which was lovely to try some new things! The area itself was great for little walkers and little kids, if you hop on the loro parque free land train you can get off at loro parque and walk to down to a gorgeous little village which has a beach with sea access as the beach near the hotel is sand but the closer to the sea the more rocky it gets so we found we couldn’t let my daughter in! Loro parque is a must aswell. Rooms comfy and clean, although we should’ve upgraded to a sea view however we were barely in our room so we weren’t overly fussed for the most part. The bar man in the in and out bar was fantastic! Everytime we went he made my daughter a special mocktail which was complimentary and she loved to the point on the last few nights she was saying I wonder what he’ll make me tonight! Yes the weather is slightly more cloudy in the north but surely people do their research before booking, this isn’t the hotels fault. Overall a fantastic day, lovely staff and clean hotel. Thank you so much for our lovely stay!…
The hotel is very nice, we had a mountain view room which was average, however the room was great. The beds are comfortable and there is lots of room for storage. The food was average, we were fed up of the breakfast 3 nights in as it was not hot and tasty. The dinner was better. The pool area is nice and you can get towels. Staff were attentive and friendly and cleaners are excellent. Wouldn’t say its a 4*. Wont be visiting again and would try the south of Tenerife as better weather.
My husband and I returned yesterday from This beautiful hotel. What can I say about the staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. We always stay on the south of island, but decided for a change to try the north. My husband was 50 and I wanted something A little different. The staff In the restaurant were just all amazing, I asked them to reserve a table on the morning of his birthday, I gave them balloons and banners to put out. The table was just beautiful, they also placed a bottle of cava on the cooler on the table with lots of ice. When we had eaten breakfast, all the staff came singing out of the kitchen with a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to him, it was just so lovely and thoughtful. It was the perfect start to the day. The breakfast variety in this hotel is perfect, there is something for everyone, including cava every morning which we added orange juice to make a Buck’s Fizz. The evening meal was plentiful and lots of choice and was delicious, the food was sometimes on the Luke warm side, that would be my only critique, but never less was very tasty and enjoyable. I also enjoyed a spa one morning which was just beautiful, beautiful surrounding and so relaxing. All in all a beautiful hotel, brilliant staff from the minute you check in at reception, this continued throughout the hotel whenever we came In Contact with a member of staff. We upgraded to a sea view room and had two balconies, this was well worth the upgrade for the view alone. The rooms were very clean and the bed was so large it was so comfy. We will Definitely be returning to this hotel. Well done to you all a pleasure to write this review Kerry and Mike…
We recently just got back from our stay at Sol Costa Atlantis. We were tired on arrival but were greeted by very friendly and helpful reception staff who checked us in. The upgrade we were offered was really good value at 15€ per night, as opposed to the usual 25€. I’m not sure if this offer applied regularly but we were extremely happy we took the opportunity. The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from the black sand beach, surrounded by bars and markets and has easy access to local villages, although if you’re wanting to go to La Paz your calves will be burning with the uphill walking! The room had 2 balconies, with a perfect sea view to watch the sun go up and down over the mountains on the right hand side. The room was spacious, clean and had exactly what you needed for a weeks trip. The fridge was ideal for our water and snacks for the week, the safe was easy to operate and helped loads throughout the week too. The bathroom was spacious too. Although the bed wasn’t my usual type of mattress I like (being slightly firmer), it still was really comfy with 2 pillows to help you sleep. Friendly staff regularly came to clean the room as well as offering coffee and water top ups. Breakfast has loads of options with a hot, cooked section. Omelettes, fried eggs and crepes all cooked to order and sections for fruit, cooked meats, cheeses. The yogurt station and the muffins were a personal hit for us. We read before coming to the hotel that the main hold back for the reviews were the staff. We never had any problems with the staff who were not overly attentive but definitely always had a smile on their face and happy to help. We didn’t manage to catch any names but both the lifeguards we had were always very helpful and attentive and one of the male breakfast staff was keen to chat about the local football in Tenerife and was keen to find out about the football team who’s shirt I wore to breakfast, which was nice. All round very fun experience, we loved our time in Tenerife and the location of the hotel and the accommodation it provided definitely made it better. Thank you Sol Costa Atlantis…
My husband and I stayed here for 10days on a half board basis. Initially first impressions were favourable but as the days went by we found more and more faults. Our room had a sea view and tea and coffee making facilities as well as a fridge. The fridge was really old but served its purpose. Our bed was very large and comfortable and clean but the furniture was tired and dirty especially the 2 arm chairs. The food was repetitive and the hot food was barely warm and if you happened to come down to dinner a little late the choice was not good. Breakfast was OK. The towels in the bathroom were thin and not upto the standard of a 4* hotel. The wallpaper is peeling off the wall on floor 4 which surely maintenance staff can see every time they pass. The hotel is in a good position with an impressive lobby but thatsit.. The upside of our stay was the friendly staff who bent over backwards to help you. but we wouldn't stay here again. Overall the hotel is poor for a 4*.…
Amazing cocktails made by Siliva in the pool bar In Sole Coasta Atlantis. Nicest mojitos in all of Porta DeLa Cruz!! Siliva is extremly helpful and friendly, 100% recommend along with the cleaning staff Fatima is amazing, extremely helpful and fantastic at her job!! Definitely will be back
I’ve stayed at this hotel for the last 7 years. I’ve sent changes over the years and none more so than this year. I was given a ‘town view’ room (that’s what Jet2 holidays call it). I’ve had town rooms before and they’ve been fine. On this occasion I was shocked at what was my ‘view’ from my balcony. A view of a decrepit, unsightly, empty building. I do appreciate that the hotel can’t actually change the building, but I think the rooms that face this should be a lot cheaper. It’s a nice part of the holiday sitting on the balcony. I ventured down to ask if there were any alternative rooms. I was shown a sea view room which was lovely. Unfortunately, it was an additional €100. The hotel itself looks slightly dated and tired now and could really do with a facelift. Pool area lovely still and breakfast buffet great.…
We stayed as a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids during Easter 2022. We stayed in a sol xtra connecting family room which was effectively two rooms with a connecting door. Firstly, the views from our room were stunning - worth a star on their own which is why this is a 4 not a 3. You have a literal stone throw to the beach front with a brilliant dramatic view of the sea and the waves. The balcony areas were favourite places to sit. Unfortunately the hotel is feeling a bit tired. A lot of these blocks were built in 80s and 90s and you can tell. The furniture within the room was looking worn, the air conditioning was barely letting out a breath of air despite being very noisy, and the infrastructure within the hotel (such as the lifts) was started to look dated and tired. The have obviously done a bit of tarting up over the years in an attempt to keep the skeleton of the building from showing, and at first glances it does look reasonable, but once you start to use the rooms and facilities the true age is given away - no ventilation in the bathrooms, old tired fittings in the bathrooms and rooms (such as old school yellowing plug sockets, which there are not enough of). The beds were comfortable, and the rooms practical, but we didn’t feel like they were anything special aside from the view. Little things like having to unplug the fridge to use the kettle and vice versa were symptomatic of the little niggles we had. Equally, water every day which was great but no glasses for the room! The staff were reasonably helpful and friendly but nothing above and beyond. The cleaning staff didn’t do a hugely thorough job - swept and changed the towels and linen but didn’t mop during our stay once or clean the balcony areas particularly well. The breakfasts are very good, plenty of choice and selection and well organised. The pool bar by comparison was a complete shambles. They lost our order after paying and brought out the wrong food 50 minutes after ordering. We didn’t use it again. A lot of people having the same problems. Plenty of much better options nearby within a 5 minute walk. We didn’t try dinner - it was too late for our kids (didn’t start until 7pm and our kids are young).…
This is a good standard hotel in a lovely location with amazing views from the sea view rooms. Beds really comfortable and spacious bathroom and balcony area. Breakfast very good with an amazing choice. Yes the taste and texture of the hot breakfast choice not always what you’d expect at home but….we are not at home and plenty of other options. Didn’t use the spa and gym facilities so can’t comment. Pool area nice and always plenty of beds available. Snack bar good with a choice of drinks and snacks. Only negatives for me are would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities or mini fridge in the rooms and we thought the drinks from the hotel bar and snack bar were a little over priced compared to everywhere else in Puerto.
Spectacular views in sea facing rooms, First impressions were very good on arrival. Unfortunately this opinion changed. Not so hot food !! ……. lukewarm and even cold when just brought from the kitchen eg scrambled eggs mushroom and beans. Just as well there is a microwave. Reception staff are happy and obliging however restaurant staff barely spoke and grumpy Attitude , looked unhappy 😠 Barman was very rude preferring to be on his mobile we walked out. Lad at the pool hut was always busy and very friendly. Poor that there is no fridge or tea and coffee facility. Struggle to get a hot drink through the day. Only supplied if paying higher rate, Chairs in room are a little gruby and worn, Not cheap to drink in the hotel 4€ for lemonade at poolside bar. Hotel bar not open through the day. Have to book and pay for the gym even though it was empty most of the time, I would not return to this hotel unfortunately as I don’t think it’s value for money and poor service not welcoming at all. To raise the standard would take minimal effort. However we loved the location of Puerto De La Cruz .…
