Hotel Laguna Nivaria is situated in one of the most charming 16th century mansions of the city of La Laguna , the latter of which is proud to be the only world heritage city of the Canary Islands. With a total of 79 rooms, including 14 suites, all rooms are spacious, cosy, colonial style, Hotel Laguna Nivaria offers an elegant restaurant with an extensive menu for lunch and dinner along with a cafeteria and sun terrace. The hotel also has conference rooms for events, free internet point for guests, room service and all the necessary services to ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay. This hotel enjoys prime position on the town's emblematic main square. The rooms and apartments vary according to how much you want to pay, and range from pleasant to perfect. Dating from the 18th century, the building has retained many Canarian features. This is a beautiful traditional building; the former home of a marquis. The facade is washed in burnt sienna with wooden balconies and window frames. Beyond the beamed reception with its stone arches and stained glass there is a pretty central courtyard. There are two classes of room here and if you are ready to flash your cash, the superior is worth it. They are exquisitely done up with elegant furniture, leafy plants and earthy colours. The bathrooms are fashionably mosaic tiled.

I had my wedding reception here at this amazing hotel. Staff went above and beyond. The interior of the hotel is breathtaking, everything clean and beautiful. We had breakfast included and the breakfast had a variety and was very nice. I would highly recommend and will definitely return for a stay.

I am currently half way through a 10 night stay at this hotel. We usually stay at the Gran Hotel but it was fully booked. I will start with the pluses The bar staff, Onar and Juan, are fantastic and an asset to the hotel The location is good The room is OK but a bit dated with the decor Bar prices are reasonable The Negatives The breakfast is not up to the Gran Hotel’s standard. The hot food is very unappetising and would not eat it. We booked directly with the hotel and paid for half board. I checked that it was a la carte and not buffet before booking. On arrival, the hotel wanted us to eat buffet food because they had a large group in. We were told we could have a la carte when the group left. I explained that this was not what we booked and I have to say that Omar was fantastic in resolving the problem. However, during the evenings we have eaten here, various things are unavailable in the menu ( the most expensive items). For example, non of the desserts were available; only cakes and pasties from their bar. It has made us feel very uncomfortable because we have to choose the inexpensive items on an a la carte menu. The bar ran out of Gordons gin the second night The Nirvana is a Spa hotel but there is no information whatsoever in the room about this service, or indeed any other service. I have no idea if room service is available. The bathroom had two razors, one toothbrush and two shoe cleaners. Nothing else was provided. The breakfast staff could do with a little more training in customer service. They are not very friendly. The hotel could be better with some attention to small details and greater clarity of what is included in half board. I know that booking with. Tour Operator will provide buffet food but we booked privately and enquired before we booked In future I will book at the Gran hotel

I booked the suite for our anniversary, it was exactly what we wanted. A jacuzzi, bubbles, comfortable bed, breakfast brought to the room, it was a delight. Parking facilities were great, it was just excellent overall.

Following a positive covid test on a ship this was the government designated quarantine hotel. The old part of the hotel being used for isolation cases. After arriving on Tuesday 4 Jan a menu for 'dinner' was handed in, soup or prawn salad and fruit or chocolate mousse. As a non fish eater the soup and mousse were chosen. What was received was not only cold, but barely enough to feed an adult man, thankfully the ship had given crisps so they were eaten too. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful but again was stone cold. The cold food continued throughout the stay for every meal. Breakfast was just brought to the room, lunch was choice but dinner was just whatever they decided you'd get. It didn't matter if you were a non fish eater, or even a vegetarian, they made no allowances - you got what you were given, eat it or starve. The hotel rate was €17.50 for lunch and the same for dinner. Although the food was of an acceptable standard it was not acceptable for it to be cold and out was not acceptable to be given no choice. Some meals were put in the bin ... fish paella and rabbit, neither of which were something that would have been ordered or eaten if s choice had been given. On checking out the bill charged for 5 dinners and 5 lunches at €17.50 each (breakfast was included in the room rate) ... if you include the soup and mousse on the first evening as a dinner only 5 dinners and 4 lunches were provided!! Clearly this hotel is using covid isolation as a way to provide the minimum for maximum profit. It may be a nice hotel for people staying out of their own choicr, but after this experience it's unlikely we would ever consider it for a future holiday.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights, arriving by taxi(10 euros) from the TFN Airport at 9 PM. The nice receptionist took our passports, card payment and provided key cards with the WIFI password. We were directed across the courtyard to the annex where we took the lone elevator up one flight. Room #306 had canary wood floors with 2 comfortable twins across a large wall closet, a nice TV with many channels (only BBC in English). A small dining table with 2 chairs joined a sparsely outfitted kitchenette with a medium sized refrigerator and a countertop stove. Both opening windows looked over an inner courtyard making for a quiet room. The spacious handicapped bathroom included a large shower and soap. I parked the rental car across the street in the public lot (7 euros/day) open 24 hours. The 7 AM breakfast buffet (23 euro for 2) was serviced and complete with all normal items; fruit, juices, eggs, beans, meats, cheeses and more (see pictures). This older hotel with 79 daily serviced rooms has a good location for walking this old city’s 1999 UNESCO sights.

I was looking for a quiet place to stay and this was the perfect choice. It is in a centric location but not in a busy street. The bed was really comfortable. I am allergic to milk protein and they answer all my questions and doubts about breakfast kindly and quickly. I will come back.

We were part of a walking group and this hotel is clearly very popular with this type of holiday. Our room was in a block separate from the main hotel and very generous in size. A small kitchenette privided in the room - fridge, hot plate and sink with the bare essentials (2 glasses, 2 cups and saucers, saucepan and bottle opener) included. Further utensils were available for 5 euros per day. Comfortable bed (2 large singles together) and plenty of storage space. Well equipped bathroom including jacuzzi nozzles but given the fact that wate is a precious commodity on the island we didn't like to take advantage of this facility. No balcony and limited outside seating. There was a good selection of food at the breakfast buffet - all standard cereals, fresh fruit, cooked choices, and continental style of cheeses, ham and fresh breads and pastries. Freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious. We were also provided with our evening meal as part of the group holiday which was a seperate menu from the restaurant. Soup, followed by a starter, followed by a choice of main and a choice of desserts. Always beautifully presented and very enjoyable.

A comfortable hotel very convenient for visiting the beautiful old city of San Cristoble de La Laguna. We had a delightful room at the top of the hotel with views over the city from our private balcony.

We stayed here for 10 days booked as part of a BA holiday - so flight and hotel booked together. This meant we got quite a good price for the hotel and flights. This is a classy hotel - well above our usual two star! The staff were really nice with reception staff speaking good English. We were offered a welcolm drink when we checked in. We had just booked a standard room without breakfast and were impressed with the size of the room considering it was the standard size. There was a seperate section which had kitchen units and hob, but rather oddly no cuttlery - if you want cuttlery ( we didnt) there was a daily charge. But the hob was fine for a morning cuppa. We sometimes had breakfast in the bar downstairs in the form of coffee and croissant, or sometimes in a local bar depending upon our plans for the day. We also sometimes had a glass of the local wine in the bar in the evening and I have to say the bar staff were really nice and friendly - particularly one funny young lady! We hired a car for 4 days and as we were staying so long were offered a reduced rate to park it in their underground car park and that all worked very well. The room was quiet at night but we heard some noise when people got up in the mornings due to the wooden floors - but it really wasnt a problem. The hotel also has a spa and small gym which we looked at but didnt use. I would stay here again.
