This is a good hotel but not 5* by international standards. Our room was well equipped with great sea views and was extremely spacious... This is a good hotel with lovely welcoming staff and I would recommend a stay here especially out of season but travelling all over the world staying in genuine 5* hotels it falls short not least in the extremely late servicing of the rooms, often very late afternoon p, is unacceptable by modern standards...

This is a beautifully presented hotel in a great location in Arrecife... And we were able to access our room before 15.00 as we landed just after noon... The room (basic with ocean view) was spacious, you can pay a bit more for a sunset/sunrise view but it was adequate for us... The staff at front of house, the bars and chambermaid were all amazing and very helpful, especially the chambermaid who helped us get into our room when both keys failed and we couldn’t face going back to the ground floor - she was in the middle of her shift and took the time to help us...

We booked The Gran Arrecife Hotel on a B&B basis and stayed here for 10 days. What a lovely room we had with glorious views... Most of the public rooms and facilities were first class too... Some points to note if booking this hotel: • One is invited to check in early on line to save a wait at reception so that one can go straight to one’s room... • The room cleaning service was patchy... • A free bottle of wine was delivered to our room on our last evening...

This hotel was mostly very nice despite being built in the 1970's... The main problem our family had was this hotel has 160 rooms and there are only enough sun lounges for around 20 guests... Our room was spacious and clean and again service was to a high standard...

Stayed here for a week to celebrate my own and husband’s birthday (thank you to hotel for the complimentary wine and bottle of fizz) and booked a sea view suite. We were given suite 1102 which was amazing... A corner suite with double aspect floor to ceiling windows looking out on to the ocean and beach... At the touch of a button we were able to control the lights and curtains... This hotel is definitely deserving of its 5 stars, certainly one of the best where we have stayed in Europe...

We arrived at 10.30am but couldn't get into the room until 3pm, which they make you aware of on their website, but they secured our luggage and we had a nice walk to the harbour 15 minutes away and had lunch then came back to our amazing upgrade... The suite was amazing, huge comfortable bed, fantastic views, spacious bathroom and brilliant shower...

We stayed for a wk 11-18th sept, we had an early morning flight but we still couldnt get into the room till 3pm, 1 of the staff wasnt very helpful the rest were very nice & polite all the time. We stayed in a very large room with a panaramic view on the 8th floor which had amazing views of sea & beach., and cleaned every day...

Buffet breakfast was to die for, so much choice from cooked breakfast, to cereal and a choice of milks to fresh fruit, yoghurt and nuts to pastries and carrot cake... They also had someone to cook eggs as you liked them... The bar/restaurant on the top floor was also first class... The pool area was very pleasant and you could get a drink and sandwich during the day and look out over the sea and beach while watching planes land at the Airport... My friend was celebrating her birthday and on we returning to our room after having a lovely meal in the main restaurant we found a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us and some cake with a happy birthday wish from the staff... They must have got the date from the passport - a lovely touch by the hotel...

We did however have a problem with the clogged drain in the shower, and a phone call to reception had it sorted quite quickly... Staff made us feel special, always a smile and a polite “hello” or “ good morning” And the surprise bottle of Prosecco and a large slice of cake that greeted my wife in our hotel room on her birthday bought tears to her eyes, the hotel arranged that, I had nothing to do with it... All buses drop and pick you up at the opposite side of the road from the hotel, so if you book an island tour ( like we did) picks you up opposite the hotel...

...Only a short drive from the airport which is good so in the room just 30 mins after landing! The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and clean with Wifi in room only... Staff helpful and friendly, generally with good English, and always available in the reception area... There is a local bus station nearby which has buses to the main south coast resorts... The main negative was the Sky 17 bar and restaurant which was very understaffed and had to wait ages for drinks and food so only ate there once...

The hotel was everything it promised to be ,and the staff were all so pleasant and so willing to help. We had a problem with our air conditioning and a new motor was fitted within a couple of hours ...

My wife and I, together with another couple, had a thoroughly enjoyable 2 week stay at the Gran Hotel... We were also easily able to access other resorts such as Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca, and Costa Teguise using the local bus service... The Bus Station was just a shortish and attractive stroll along the promenade... From the moment we first arrived at the hotel we were made to feel really welcome, and throughout our stay all the staff were brilliant...

...While checking in you are offered a drink, champage, juice, water, the check in itself is not rushed and all questions are answered... Huge room, plenty of room, amazing views, The buffet breakfast was wonderful, plenty of choice, hot and cold foods, amazing cakes, fresh breads, juices and so much more... The staff are friendly, helpful, dinning room , cleaners, alike... The welcome champagne is a lovey touch in the room too... Thank you everyone for making our stay so wonderful...

We came back from the beach one afternoon to find Cava and a cake slice in our hotel room - it was my partner’s birthday and reception must have noticed the date on his passport when we checked in because we didn’t mention it at all. Imanel in reception helped us find the right app to rent e-scooters (patinetes) and all the staff are just brilliant, helpful and welcoming...

...We sadly missed our flight on 11th September due to family issues, but were able to fly out again on 13th. Only small criticisms were that most of the staff in the restaurants and pool bar couldn't speak very good English, but they tried their best, and the staff at breakfast didn't speak to you when they came to collect your used plates, except for the staff member who sat you at your table...

...We stayed bed and breakfast which was delicious loads of choice also a chef to make any egg dish you wanted... Even had wine and chocolates in room on arrival also the last evening... Bus stop 10 mins away taking you to all nearby resorts...

This hotel was mostly very nice despite being built in the 1970's... This meant queuing for the sun terrace to open each morning at 10am and first come first served... The food was very good and the hotel staff friendly... Our room was spacious and clean and again service was to a high standard... If you have no wish to lounge on a sun bed or you don't mind a queue to grab one then you will enjoy your experience in this hotel...

...So we obviously like the hotel - smells lovely ... Complicated lighting Couldn’t find info on hotel TV So ended up googling info on Spa Some rooms have open shower to see the view , great idea big shower BUT it means you can see your other half or they can see you actually SAT ON TOILET not my type of fun so this year we made sure we didn’t have that type of room ... I hung my jewellery etc on the lamp would have loved draws in the dressing unit ... Indoor pool ok for some as it’s so close to beach I didn’t want to swim or sit inside (The beach which is brilliant clean and so safe ) Very limited sun-beds at hotel !... Breakfast fantastic Staff great , especially the bar staff ...

...This hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Lanzarote and all its many fascinating places and attractions. The views , the food, the staff and the cleanliness are faultless... You are always greeted with a smile from the staff at all levels, and the comfort in the rooms makes it a pleasure to come back after a day out... There is the added bonus of windows that open, as well as AC when required... The buffet style main restaurant offers a wide range of foods for all tastes, including our vegetarian ones, and each meal's dishes are displayed (and labelled) well...

...From the moment we arrived to time we left the hotel and staff were brilliant... On arrival we were sat round one of the four tables in the lobby where we were invited to check in, normally it’s usually a cue to a reception desk but this made a lovely difference, and the glass of cold sparkling Prosecco was a nice and welcoming touch after our flight... Our room was on the 11th floor “ the Atlantic suite” and a delightful and surprising touch was that the curtains automatically opened when we entered the room exposing the wonderful vista of the sea and surrounding area, a view that greeted us every morning, so surreal as it was mid November and watching people walking their dogs,jogging etc in the warmth of the morning sun... Our room was luxurious, the bed was very roomy and comfy, had everything we needed... Breakfast catered for all tastes, it takes a little while to work out the arrangement , hot water for my teapot, finding the milk, but it’s only a small thing which you will work out after your first visit, overall the food was exceptional... The bars especially the rooftop bar was amazing, fantastic views... Staff made us feel special, always a smile and a polite “hello” or “ good morning” And the surprise bottle of Prosecco and a large slice of cake that greeted my wife in our hotel room on her birthday bought tears to her eyes, the hotel arranged that, I had nothing to do with it... One you walk out of the lobby yo are basically on the sea front... Turn left and walk along a sandy cove with restaurants and bars and gift shops on the opposite side... Or turn right and amble your way towards the marina where they have some charming restaurants ( where we had the best ever garlic prawns) yummy...

...Your lovely hotel was just the place for our Autumn stay. Our first impression of a beautiful building & the friendliest of welcomes was not wrong... We loved the view from our comfortable room, especially the sunset... The pool & pool area were both very inviting & relaxing & we enjoyed quite a few gorgeous Mojitos there, both alcoholic & non-alcoholic... Breakfast was everything you could wish for & we enjoyed the views, ambiance & food from your top floor restaurant & bar, Blue 17...

...And decided that Arrecife and Gran Hotel were just the ticket... But apart from that lovely staff, fantastic choices at breakfast with eggs to order, clean well appointed rooms and great places in the building to eat and drink... Indoor swimming pool with big comfy beds... It is a port town rather than a resort like Puerto del Carmen so if keeping away from the gift shops and Irish bars of a typical strip is your thing and spending time mooching around the town and marina and stopping in a bar/cafe or two is your thing, then Arrecife suits that purpose... And the Gran Hotel is a good base of operations with a bus terminal in walking distance... Recommended hotel in a good spot... But if a typical resort experience is needed head to Puerto del Carmen...

Stayed here for a week to celebrate my own and husband’s birthday (thank you to hotel for the complimentary wine and bottle of fizz) and booked a sea view suite. We were given suite 1102 which was amazing... A corner suite with double aspect floor to ceiling windows looking out on to the ocean and beach... At the touch of a button we were able to control the lights and curtains... Bed were very comfortable, chocolates on our pillows, air con worked well, free safe, lovely big bath towels, coffee pods and bottled water replenished each day... The welcome staff were very friendly and efficient, Monty checked us in and gave all the information we needed... Eneisi (hope I’ve spelt that correctly) serving in the pool bar was a credit to the hotel, as was Ruth who served us delicious meals in the Blue 17 roof top bar... The breakfasts were extremely good, vast choice of hot and cold foods... This hotel is definitely deserving of its 5 stars, certainly one of the best where we have stayed in Europe... Definitely recommend and we’ll certainly be back...

...While checking in you are offered a drink, champage, juice, water, the check in itself is not rushed and all questions are answered... The room we had was a panoramic suit and was fabulous... Huge room, plenty of room, amazing views, The buffet breakfast was wonderful, plenty of choice, hot and cold foods, amazing cakes, fresh breads, juices and so much more... The staff are friendly, helpful, dinning room , cleaners, alike... The welcome champagne is a lovey touch in the room too... The pool area is great and resteraunts on site look good too, although we ate in the buffet area or outside the hotel... This hotel always makes me want to stay in Lanzarote and I am already thinging of our next stay... Thank you everyone for making our stay so wonderful...

We came back from the beach one afternoon to find Cava and a cake slice in our hotel room - it was my partner’s birthday and reception must have noticed the date on his passport when we checked in because we didn’t mention it at all. Imanel in reception helped us find the right app to rent e-scooters (patinetes) and all the staff are just brilliant, helpful and welcoming...

After a long nearly 3 years, we decided at last minute to book this lovely hotel for 19 nights... We stayed bed and breakfast which was delicious loads of choice also a chef to make any egg dish you wanted... Even had wine and chocolates in room on arrival also the last evening... Beach was by hotel wish it had sunbeds... Bus stop 10 mins away taking you to all nearby resorts... Plenty of restaurants and bars along the marina...

...The hotel very kindly gave us a free upgrade to an ocean view suite, from the ocean view room we had booked originally, which we thought was very kind of them. We arrived at 10.30am but couldn't get into the room until 3pm, which they make you aware of on their website, but they secured our luggage and we had a nice walk to the harbour 15 minutes away and had lunch then came back to our amazing upgrade... The suite was amazing, huge comfortable bed, fantastic views, spacious bathroom and brilliant shower... Tea and coffee making facilities, complementary bottles of water every day... Breakfast was amazing, such wide choice, even offered prosecco along with selection of fruit juice, water and hot drinks... Chef on site to make your omelette, eggs benedict etc... Pool was lovely, although a little on the cool side on getting in... Luxurious sun loungers and beds available as well as the sun deck... Range of restaurants available including Bar 17 on the top floor offering great views and a nice, reasonably priced menu... A good morning would've been nice... We didn't use the spa while there so cant comment on that, but having the beach on your doorstep was great and there was a good selection of restaurants within a short walking distance from the hotel and a lovely walk alongside the beach to the marina and harbour where there are more restaurants and a fantastic ice cream shop...

...The service was very good and the breakfast was perfect (lot of choice, fresh juices). The hotel is close by the beach and there are also a lot of restaurants in the area... Beach towels are available for free and it is easy to take the bus between the airport and the hotel (busstop Intercambiador)... We also got a free day ticket for the spa which was very nice...

...We stayed in a very large room with a panaramic view on the 8th floor which had amazing views of sea & beach., and cleaned every day. The breakfast is really nice and so much to choose from...

...Very clean, comfy bed (firm) crisp white bedding. Breakfast was excellent, great variety... Did not eat in the restaurant so unable to review but the restaurant looked really nice... Top floor bar is amazing with fantastic views, beautiful at night... Pool is indoor which is great in winter when the water temp is usually lower if not heated... Outside lounging area is minimal and was always busy but plenty of room inside pool area... Drinks at poolside with crisps or nuts (and food if you wanted) reasonable pricing...
