I went to the cafe on the 17th floor and was asked for proof of covid vaccination before being served. Since no one can enter lanzerote without proof of vaccination I find this an insult. I asked the staff to show me proof that they were vaccinated and they could not! I just had to take their word for it, something they would not accept from me. If they cannot give proof vaccination how do guests know they are safe. A certificate and photographic proof of vaccinations should be displayed where we can see them

This was our seventh time to stay at the AGH.Last time we stayed was just before lockdown and the standard up to then was 5 star all the way.The upgrade done during lockdown was excellent .Having set such high standard in the past we were really disappointed with the following no contact was made with us during our stay to see how we were getting on ,this was done in the past usually within 24 hours of arrival. Room 601 could not put shower on fully if you did you had to wait before you opened the shower door as water did not drain quick enough, this was reported but not fixed. Breakfast tables were not cleared in a timely manner also foods were not replenished In time ,could be 10 minutes before they were replenished. La Buena Vida pool bar Menu was not up to standard as previous visits. On check out nobody asked how our stay was which we found very strange especially for a 5 Star Hotel. We did speak with the welcome team manager who thanked us for highlighting these issues and would revert back to us but this did not happen. Staff in the bar and at breakfast and cleaning are very friendly and always had a smile. Maybe it was one Stay to many.

Having just returned yesterday from a 10 day stay at the Arrecife Gran, I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. My partner and I stayed in a Panoramic Suite on the 15th floor which was absolutely amazing. The views from the huge plate glass windows gave us the most beautiful views over the sea and the surrounding area, including stunning sunsets. Breakfast was buffet style and served in a first floor room overlooking the sea. It had everything you could possibly want to eat and drink and the staff were efficient and courteous. In fact all the staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful. Our room was cleaned beautifully each day and the products in the bathroom were lovely, too. We had only booked B&B but we ate in the 17th floor restaurant a couple of times and the food was fine, but the posh restaurant was closed, unfortunately. We enjoyed eating out in Arrecife and can particularly recommend Barbacana, which specialises in steaks at very reasonable prices. Arrecife is not a traditional holiday resort as it is the capital city but we thought it very charming and we were glad we had chosen to stay there.

Welcoming and friendly staff throughout the hotel, even when you try speaking Spanish. Great location in Arrecife, right next to the beach and not too far to walk to the many shops, bars and restaurants. Breakfast includes just about everything you can think of, even a spot of cava, if you want! Pool area and bars all excellent, but the 360 degree views from the Blue Sky Bar on the 17th floor are amazing! Rooms modern, spacious, and spotlessly clean - and those views! As we were there for New Years Eve we attended the fabulous Gala Dinner - fizz on arrrival, pianist and saxophonist to entertain us, buffet excellent with lots to choose from, followed by live band and dj. The staff though are what makes this hotel so special, they really can’t do enough for you! Thank you and we will be back.

Luckily, the views and the breakfast are the same, so hopefully we'll be back in a year's time. Though, we are not particulary impressed by the glass-wall design of the suites — or the lack of privacy in the most private – we must admit it looks quite an elegant solution, but as we also are two A/B persons (early bird and night owl), we did prefer the old two-rooms suites. Nothing or very little has been done regarding the elevators, slow with a lot of unnecessary stops, or the shortage of electric sockets in the room. The coffe-machine ​had a used capsule inside — and no refill ​​​​the next day. Such things happen, I know, but still... Not many guests (2) were needed at the very modern, new front-desk either, before it felt like queuing. Otherwise it looks good. Nice, fresh new dress-code​ too.​
