Central Las Palmas is a compact area that offers a lot of variety. The easiest access is by Global (blue buses) that come to Las Palmas from all over the Island. These buses are safe, clean and reliable. Driving the Island ring road is not difficult but taking the bus allows everybody to watch the scenery and avoids the parking in Las Palmas, which can be challenging. Trips are inexpensive and you pay when you get on the bus. The Las Palmas bus terminal is very close to the old town. Go to a tourist info centre before you come as they have very good maps and descriptions in English, German and Spanish. Things worth seeing include: the Mercado where you can buy fresh fruit, veg, fish, herbs, cheese etc; the Santa Ana Cathedral where you can also see its art and statuary collection; the Museo Canaria in Vagueta, which has a wonderful collection of materials from the pre Spanish era; the Triana shopping district which combines shopping with outdoor cafes and is framed by beautifully restored colonial architecure. Vagueta also provides plenty of outdoor dining and numerous restored historical buildings. None of these areas require a great deal of walking and all are well maintained and without any safety concerns.…
Perfect location, 2 mins walk from the beach and around 10 mins from all the major shops, including El Corte Inglés. Staff are fantastic too. I am staying here with my 5 year old son and because it is in a busy area, it is quite noisy but bearable. Any hotel or apartment will have the same problem in this area. I asked for a fan to block the noise and straight away they gave us a fan. Perfect rooms, comfy beds, kitchen is fully fitted with everything needed, including stove, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Internet was slow to start but they gave us extra speed on request. There is a Hyperdino almost next to the building and a really nice bar opposite, best chips and alioli you will ever taste! If you are looking for a place to stay in the middle of Las Palmas Gran Canaria, you can´t go wrong with this hotel, perfect.…
Had a nice stay here. Close to beach and shops - great location. They have two sites, one is nearer to the beach, we stayed here. There is no reception, the lift is a little cosy and there was no air con. The place was a little noisy but great kitchen, modern bathroom and good size room. Great TV and plenty of power points. Staff spoke good English and we're nice and helpful. Keep in mind it's a shower cubicle not a bath, and the one we had was quite small to the point I kept hitting the wall and shower (I'm 6-1). The Internet was easy to connect and we had a nice time. Would recommend and stay again.
We stayed two weeks. It was a return visit. This time we got rooms in the apartments a block or two away from the hotel. The rooms are similar and good enough, especially for the price. Friendly staff and all things needed are there. Kitchen just big enough to do a bit of home cooking when on a budget with supermarkets nearby. But: the noise (and smoke) of other tenants and what we suspect are permanent residents of the inner rooms (# B and C) facing the tiny inner patio is very annoying. All night lights and noise doesn’t make for a good rest. And although we were there already several times, there was no way we could be moved to an outside (# A or D) room. Pity: we’ll look to stay elsewhere for our next visit to LPGC.
Stayed for a week of winter sunshine in a spacious, second floor studio apartment. The living space had a table in the window, which looked out on a one-way street, with port beach to the left and housing on Arenales hill to the right. There was a sofa and TV, divided from the comfy, but firm, double bed by a storage unit (as shown) and wardrobe with safe for valuables. The narrow kitchen was well-equipped, with a fridge, kettle, toaster, 2 hotplates and microwave but no oven. The flat had it's own bathroom, with toilet, wash basin and shower. It was all clean and well-serviced by the friendly, informative staff. It was above the Hnos Rogello bar and tasty restaurant used by locals and close to a large, cheap supermarket. The only drawbacks were the stairs to reach the second floor (there is no lift) and the narrow streets, busy with vehicles and traffic fumes to reach either of the town's beaches or the historic Old town.…
We stayed there on new year eve, so it was to expensive for what you get compared to 4 stars hotels. Anyway... Basic 2 people apartment, close enough to the beaches, quite noisy since it's close to one of the main streets. Good staff, professional and very easy auto check in. Since it was nye, they provided a bottle of wine and sone local sweets, nice!
The room was clean, had lots of space and had all the facilities that we needed. The bed was comfortable but was keeping lots of noice with every turn. Also the loud noices from the restaurant downstairs and across the street kept us awake in the nights. Location was great away from the tourist area but still within walking distance from nice restaurants, shopping, beach and the bus stop. There is no breakfast in the hotel but there is croissanteria just across the street where you can enjoy breakfast. Also supermarket only 50 m away.
Just as the title says the staff her are sooo friendly we had a lady attend to us most the time and she helped us so much in terms of telling us where to go to even being out photographer hahahha. The rooms are just like the pics and this hotel is really great value for money. Our first time staying in a hotel with our lil girl and this was great. Only down side is all the noise that your able to hear from the outside and people walking in the corridors apart from that I would totally recommend.
Urban center is located not to far from anything you could want and with a supermarket nearby it super convenient to have your own fully supplied kitchen. Comfy beds and large enough rooms since we didn't spend to much time in them. On the plus side is also the washing machine - it's nice to have. The staff was super helpful and fixed our friends door immediately after we accidentally broke the key off, so we could go out and then come back and have the door all fixed. All in all a nice stay for our two week trip. I will say though that the hallways is a bit noisy as the doors could be heard slamming although this is not the staffs fault. Same goes for the neighborhood - we aren't really used to the loudness of Spanish people and the rooms were to hot to have closed doors.
