The location of this Melia hotel is amazing. You get a view of the park and the city in the background, how amazing. The staff are lovely and helpful always greeting you with a smile. Now the hotel is nice, has very good sized rooms but the interior seemed a bit dated. There’s carpet on the floor and this was, unfortunately, damaged. The bathroom was again very large and indeed a 5star bathroom although slightly dated. In my case, my room had water damage in the entry hall. Overall for the location I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel's Favorite
Room was quite big, bathroom big. The bathroom had a bath, shower and bidet. The room had 2 electric blinds-one for shade and one for blackout (switch operated next to bed). It had a safe, hairdryer. We were on floor 6 opposite the pool and sauna. Great staff. Restaurants were amazing. I would recommend the 5 course set meal which includes half bottle of wine per person-very good. Location is great in the centre of everything. Literally no complaints whatsoever.

Great hotel. We stayed one night, arriving at 11am and they found us a room right away. "Rooftop" pool was just a lap pool, but heated, outdoors with a covering for shade, and a nice view of the town around. The breakfast buffet was the real find: everything you'd want in a breakfast, and enough to create a sandwich for lunch! We'll definitely look for the Melia name as we travel.

This hotel is complete with a very helpful staff, wonderful location in Bilbao near the Guggenheim, and an amazing breakfast. The room was comfortable with a nice bed and very well appointed bathroom. However, it really needs some attention and a face lift. Paint in the room was chipped, desktop in the room badly needed refinishing, carpet in the hall and room needed replacement, shade in room was torn. I recommend the hotel overall as long as you are aware of the issues with decor.

Have stayed here several times, always in a premium room. Nice spacious rooms with a good view of this fine city. Probably a little more expensive than we would have booked elsewhere. Close to city center, the old town, Guggenheim and San Mames.

Location great. Building itself was quirky. Short walk to Guggenheim museum. 20 mins to old town. Huge shopping centre across the road. Room dated. Breakfast was free for all - busy and chaotic. Hot food not great. Staff were pleasant and were extremely busy. August is peak tourist season do hotel itself was full. Restaurant and bar service in the evening was a joke. Not enough staff. Melia as a Group l would avoid in the future

Family of four stayed in two connecting rooms for two nights, generally happy with stay, great location and very good breakfast, just don’t leave it to the last 30 mins! Parking was secure and €25/24 hours but was worth it for peace of mind, quite tight parking with 2m 20 height limit, just need to take it slow! Also, get there early as sometimes it gets full even if you can’t actually check in, Daniel on reception was particularly helpful. Due to a hotel wide computer system failure while we were there wifi didn’t work and key cards only intermittently but this seemed to be a unique problem. Kids used swimming pool which is small and could get busy but was a bonus. We had a few drinks in hotel lounge which was both comfortable and reasonable. Loved the city itself and the hotel was perfect for Guggenheim and wandering along the estuary/canal. Did a pintxo tour which was also well worth it.

Lovely hotel. Decent breakfast although we recommend you attend more than 30 minutes before the advertised finish as breakfast is started to be cleared. The hotel has a very small pool and nice sauna. Good central location.

We had a 3 night stay here celebrating my wife’s birthday. The first morning the shower was cold and they sent somebody to adjust it. The second morning it was unbearably hot. The shower tray was also filthy. When I complained I was asked to email photos, which I did. They ignored the complaint. I contacted them a few days later and emailed again. They ignored the complaint. I asked for the General Manager’s email address and they wouldn’t give it to me. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel? Nothing of the sort.

This is a charming hotel, fair priced and very comfortable. The food in their restaurant is delicious and the breakfasts are scrumptious. We came to see the famous Guggenheim museum and the location of this hotel is very convenient. The staff is outstanding. We have been in Spain for over a week in Barcelona and in Madrid. This hotel is the best so far. Worth its 5 stars.
