My husband and I spent two nights here when we stopped in Bilbao to go to the museum. We had a very small room, on the back of the building. Everything here is squeaky clean and quiet. The hosts are friendly and helpful. This is an amazing value!

We were greeted by a friendly man who speaks little English but is able to understand your needs. Our room looked out onto a pretty church with shops and food stalls outside (the stalls were not there everyday just the first day), so the noise made it quite hard to rest in the day. The noise also went onto until... More

We've been in Bilbao for 3 nights. The location is perfect for those who want to visit either the old centre (a street from Catedral de Santiago and Museo Vasco) and the new/modern part of the city (15min walking to guggenheim). The man runnig the hostel was very nice and helpful (inclusively lent us an umbrella!) There is also a... More

We could find few signs for pensions in this old town on a Saturday afternoon so were not too discriminating. Despite huge language barriers we settled on this pension. The beds were hard, the pillows lumpy in the extreme, but by far the worst was the horrific noise from the street below, till well after 2:00 am. We paid 45€,... More

Very central location in the old town in Bilbao on the 2nd. floor in an old, charming building. Some rooms have a little balcony with a view to the Santiago square (which probably can be a quite lively place at night). We paid 50 Euro for a double with bathroom. Breakfast available in cafe on the square, just opposite the... More

We are touring Northern Spain and this was the most expensive of the pensiones that we stayed at, just under 100€ for two people, two nights. But the service was great. The man who runs the hostal/Pension is incredibly nice, the rooms are big enough with a nice view of the Catedral de Santiago. It has a great location in... More

The Pension Roquefer is a simple and low cost hostel in the center of the old part of Bilbao. The rooms are small & fairly basic but are clean & comfortable and the ensuite shower room is excellent. There was free wifi and wired internet access in the room. The lady who runs the hostel was friendly & helpful but... More

The hostel was absolutely one of the best I have ever been. Our double room was big, clean and really nice. It looked like a hotel room. Also the bathroom (just for us) was clean and good. (I saw an other bedroom which wasn't so big, but not like a closet eather.) The hostel was good located in the Old... More

STAY AWAY Great location in the old city & clean enough, but the owners are dodgy. Booked online for 50 euro/night (for a tiny room!). They charged $150 for the 2 nights and had already processed it on the card before i went to ask them for the bill (presumably using the details i entered on the booking to reserve... More
