If you are considering booking this hotel, you are probably doing so because of price. This is why I spent two nights here. I paid 15 euros/ person a night for a triple in June.

Overall my experience was not that bad. The beds were comfortable, and the room was a good size. There was no en suite, but the shower was across the hall, and was quite powerful.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke quite good English. On the day I checked out I had a 5pm train, so wanted to leave my bags at the hotel while I spent the time before in the city. I explained this to the man at reception and said this was not possible as the reception was closed 2-4 (when I would need to pick them up). My wife and I booked Hostel Santa Gema late 2011 for June 2012. We arrived and found the front entrance guarded by a doorman, who told us in broken English it had closed down. Then he changed his mind and told us it was on the 7th floor and we should go up. My immediate concern was getting the luggage to the room, without getting a parking ticket. My wife went up to enquire about parking. The receptionist barely spoke English, but shrugged his shoulders and said there was none locally. My wife also noticed the dirty state of the Reception area.
We asked a local policeman where we could park, he told us that the only place was a local Hotel car park and gave us directions. We returned to Hostal Santa Gema after booking into the Hotel, we were surprised the hotel cost was roughly the same as the Hostal. I agree that the reception was very dirty, messy and there was a stale odour. A look along the corridor to the rooms showed it too was messy. I then cancelled the booking, because...
