Nice Hotel 10 minutes walking distance from the cathedral. Parking is 5 minutes away (public parking, no valet service). Charming courtyards and spacious rooms (even with kitchenette). However, rooms are very dark and - most annoying - you are hearing every water flow from all the other rooms, no matter if someone is taking a shower or flushing a toilet…to avoid that one should book solely rooms on the top floor! Breakfast is decent average, staff is friendly. Hotel is very clean!
Happy with the hotel. It did the job. Hotel and rooms are the opposite of modern, but gives a great style to the hotel. Friendly staff. Bed was comfortable, but overall room could have been cleaned a bit better. There’s a rooftop that you can enjoy. A few chairs and tables placed. Biggest regret was not finding a hotel with a pool! So if you can increase your budget, i would totally recommend it.
I've never given a one star review before, and I hestitate to do so now, but if I had been staying more than one night I would have stayed else where. The building is a beautiful 16th century house in moorish style with interconnecting courtyards. So far so good. The room itself was a little under-lit (having little natural light) and smelt vaguely of toilet cleaner. Now the real issue, the bathroom. The bath appeared to be made of a rough stone and was painted ELECTRIC BLUE! quite poorly. Hot water was rare either morning or night and the sink taps literally dribbled water. Bizzarely next to the bathroom was a well equipped kitchenette. TIP get rid of the kitchenette and install a proper modern standard (not style) bathroom. My other gripe was the hotel is advertised as having parking. It does not, you have to use the public multi storey, if you can find it, and they will give you 4E discount from the 22E daily charge. Seville is not a car orientated city, but it was the final leg of a Algarve/Costa del sol oddessy, so I needed to park the hire car overnight. Final minor gripe, no foreign language channels on the tv. This is a 4* hotel but I'm not sure how. I'm really sorry to be so scathing because the staff were very pleasant and deserve better…
Solidly in the old town, behind the hotels big doors is a little oasis, very reminiscent of a Moroccan Riad. Cool, peaceful and beautifully furnished. Staff were helpful and very nice. I had had a long ride to get there and they could see I was tired. A bottle of water was quickly offered before we started checking in. If you have mobility issues, this might not be the best hotel for you. My room was on the upper floor of the courtyard, and in it my bedroom was further up some steep steps. To get to the roof terrace there was then a spiral staircase. It was lovely, and quaint and unusual, but probably not for everyone. Excellent location though, Alcazar in 10 minutes, and Seville is fantastic.
An authentic Spanish hotel with a really interesting history. Charming & relaxing with cool inner courtyards & a refreshing splash pool (where they brought us a beer), which was much needed after walking all day in 40 degree heat with two young kids! Ideal for families. Wonderful location down a cobbled street & a 15 min stroll to the cathedral. The staff on the desk were all helpful, knowledgable & friendly. The only negative was the lady dealing with breakfast who was a little surly & cross with us on our first morning & we couldn’t work out why as we hadn’t even sat down. Her friendliness didn’t improve over our 3 day stay either…breakfasts were good regardless. Highly recommend this hotel to escape the hustle & bustle.
