A pretty hotel, set in a quiet square full of trees, and in walking distance of a range of tavernas, bodegas and restaurants. Waking up to the bells of the Giralda tower was a lovely way to start our day, I was pleased to have upgraded our room to one of the junior suites with a terrace, which meant we could sit on our balcony in the morning with a coffee before setting off sightseeing. I did have to supply our own coffee as the hotel only supplied mint tea bags and didn't replace them after the first morning, and we had to wash up the cups and glasses in the bathroom sink. As someone else has mentioned, the door to the bathroom didn't offer much in the way of privacy, but I'm starting to wonder whether 'boutique' actually means 'no bathroom door'! The staff we met were friendly, and a number of them attempted (without success) to fix the safety deposit box in the room. The only sour note was that we were billed an 'additional' amount as we were trying to head off to meet a taxi - apparently, despite allocating us with the junior suite we hadn't been charged for it on arrival and nobody thought to mention that they had undercharged us at any other point in the 4 days of our stay.…
This small hotel is in a quiet but central location in the heart of Seville. Outside the hotel is a pretty little square with orange trees and cobbled streets leading directly to the main attractions. Unfortunately, the rest of the hotel does not live up to its description. The room we stayed in for 3 nights was directly opposite the reception with no sound proofing so we had no privacy for our stay. We could hear the reception staff talking while we were in the room and I am sure they could hear everything we were doing too which made it rather uncomfortable. There was no one in reception to greet you on arrival and after a while someone appeared from another hotel I believe. The room is very basic and not at all well thought out. For example, the hanging rail is not long enough to hang dresses and there is no full length mirror or even a mirror outside of the bathroom to put on your make up or do your hair. The ‘door’ to the bathroom is not so much a door more of a partition so if you value your privacy in the bathroom this may not be the right place for you! The service was very impersonal and lacking in warmth the entire stay. Most of the staff were completely indifferent to our needs as guests, except on the last day when a lovely receptionist helped us order a taxi and asked if we had a nice stay. With a few tweaks and a more welcoming approach this could be a very nice place to stay in a wonderful part of Seville. While we made the most of our stay we would not return to this hotel or recommend it to others.…
This is a nice hotel, very near the Sevilla Cathedral. The room was small but we had a balcony and also access to the rooftop patio where the Cathedral was visible. The area is walking only, no vehicles, small intriguing alleys, only a few steps to the Cathedral. Staff was very helpful with our many questions.
Hotel Boutique Elvira Plaza Sevilla. Pl. de Doña Elvira, 5, 41004 Sevilla, Spain In 2019 I booked to stay at this hotel with my wife for a late season city break in September 2020 opting for the ‘double room with patio’, paying in advance. However, as Covid-19 began to shut down the world, flights were cancelled and borders were closed etc, I contacted the hotel and asked if my booking could be carried forward to the following year. The hotel management were ‘First Class’. All of my emails were answered promptly and the staff were more than happy to postpone my city-break to the following year. So, rolling on to September 2021. We arrived just after midnight at the hotel and found that the reception empty. However, I discovered a sign directing guests to an adjacent hotel (only metres away) which had 24hr reception. As we were reading this, a receptionist arrived stating the they were expecting us and had been looking out for us on the CCTV. I was then asked to attend at this second building and after checking in we were offered a glass of champagne each. What a welcome gesture! Our room was 106. It was as described, a double bedroom with a small enclosed patio. It was through the patio door that the only natural light came into the room. The room appeared to have been freshly decorated and was spotlessly clean. It had a wall mounted TV, a double bed, a single stool, safe deposit box and a narrow occasional table. Upon the table was a kettle, cups, saucers, tea, coffee sugar/sweetener, milk, bottle of water and two glasses. The toilet and shower, regular and rain forest type (…that’s the shower, not the toilet…) were accessed via a frosted glass door. The patio (approx 2.5m by 2m) was surrounded by high walls and adjoined another guest’s patio, divided by a wall. Ours was furnished with artificial grass and two metal garden chairs. We discovered that the breakfast option was in the form of a boxed meal delivered to our room. If you order this, make sure you have an appetite! Each boxed meal consisted of a small croissant, chocolate muffin, bread roll, ham, cheese, yogurt, a jar of pineapple chunks, orange juice, tea, coffee and chocolate biscuit. Throughout our stay we had occasion to speak with the staff who were always very friendly, approachable and eager to assist. (I needed to print some documents and again this was not a problem for them). As for the hotel’s location, it’s in the heart of the old town without the associated noise of late-night revellers to keep you awake at night. The bars and restaurants are located nearby down adjacent narrow streets. Would I go back to this hotel again? Yes. It would suit couples looking for a romantic break and culture vultures wishing to explore this beautiful city.…
This is a satellite hotel to the Halo hotel some 200 yd’s away. We were not informed of this at time of booking and were not told that breakfast would be in the Halo hotel. The room was much smaller than the pictures showed and the patio area was a piece of AstroTurf surrounded on all 4 sides by high walls. The room was ok but tired. The bed was comfortable. We got what we paid for. The location was excellent for sightseeing. The complimentary walking tour was brilliant.
We stayed 3 nights in November. The hotel is perfectly located in the old Santa Cruz part of the city close to the cathedral and Alcazar Palace. The quaint little streets around the hotel cannot be accessed by vehicles so your taxi will stop near the Alcazar Palace and the driver will walk you to your hotel, the same happens in reverse - the driver will collect you on foot from the hotel and walk you to the taxi. The hotel reception is in the Halo hotel just around the corner, this is also where breakfast is served if you take it. We had it on the last morning and it was substantial (hot and cold buffet) with prosecco on offer! There are so many restaurants, cafes and bars in this area that we preferred to explore and stop and eat along the way. The hotel bedroom was ok, quite small but adequate. Our room had a kettle and a few t-bags, but no coffee maker. The shower room was tired but had loads of hot water and shampoo and shower gel was supplied. The hair dryer was attached to the wall. We had to ask twice to get towels as there was only one in the room. We found the hotel very quiet at night as there is no road noise nearby. You may be woken quite early by the hotel laundry and supply carts coming along the cobbles but we didn’t mind as we wanted to be up early to explore. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. This hotel is fine for a few nights and in the perfect location to explore this beautiful city.…
We chose this hotel due to its location and in the knowledge with a late flight back, at this price we were happy to pay for an extra night to have the room until 9pm without any concerns. The hotel is basic and a little tired, so if you are planning a luxury escape this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for a central base to be able to walk to all the sights, with a nice clean quiet room, then this will do the job just nicely.
We ended up staying an extra night in Seville and found this hotel. It's located on a nice, quiet square. The front office staff was very helpful. We had a room in the back with a little patio which was nice for some fresh air. Room is tight, but we didn't end up spending much time in the room. I would definitely stay here again.
Good location which is a big plus. Hotel was average, but good for one or two nights. Reception and breakfast is at a hotel around the corner, which isn't always ideal, however the breakfast at the other hotel was quite good, so it is worthwhile. You need to go to the other hotel for any service and they only have 1 staff member, but very helpful. Liked that I received a glass of sparkling wine on arrival (would probably not have received this at the Hotel Boutique Elvira). Taxi drops is not able to drop off outside the hotel, so try not to have to much baggage and there is no lift at the hotel.
Personally, the room is just okay. I don't think it deserves a star higher than 3. The only reason why I give it a three star and not a two because it's in a beautiful Spanish street area. You could only get here by foot. The room needs some update. I feel like I was living in a very old apartment back when I was in college. The room is really run down and very small. The bathroom walls need some painting. I wish they put a big mirror in the room by the bed because there's literally no room to do my hair and make up in the bathroom. TIP 1: Our taxi guy drop us off by Plaza Alfaro from the train station. We walked through the quiet garden and almost got pick pocket by a couple who threw fake bird poop on us. I fell for it and turned around so the couple could help clean us up. Luckily they couldn't steal anything. Just be extra careful and watch your surrounding. Make sure to keep your money and passports in your money belt. If you take the taxi, have them drop you off by Cathedral de Sevilla church. Although it's a longer walk to the hotel but it's a lot safer. TIP 2: We were in room 201 on the second floor facing the orange trees. The view is gorgeous, however, it's really loud early in the morning around 7AM - 8AM as the employees bring out tables and chairs.…
