After leaving our stay here, I saw that my credit card hard a DUPLICATE CHARGE for the same total amount. I contacted the hotel and they said they would manage it. I have been CHASING THIS UP FOR MONTHS and have not had a single reply with any call to action to rectify their mistake. It is a shame that this hotel thinks it is appropriate to ignore a customer and refuse to offer their help in refunding money that they overcharged. At first I gave them benefit of the doubt that it was a simple mistake, but now I am left to believe that they STOLE money from me. I would therefore not recommend staying here in case this might happen to others.
The hotel is part way up the hill to the Alhambra and takes about 20 minutes to walk to, but this means there is a quite a steep slope ever time you go anywhere. The hotel has about 11 rooms, we stayed in the deluxe twin, which was a fair sized room with a very spacious bathroom. The hotel also has a lovely pool area and is very relaxing when returning from a day sightseeing. The best part about this hotel are the staff, Ana and Isabella cannot do enough for you and its nice little touches like fresh lemonade round the pool that make this place. There is a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities available all day in the breakfast area. Breakfast is a do it yourself affair, with toast, boiled eggs, cheeses, meats etc,. The place has a really friendly, relaxing vibe and I would definitely stay again. …
This hotel is brilliant in every way. The position is perfect, the room was a great size with a lovely bathroom and the staff are so helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The pool is an added bonus. After a hot day walking the streets of Granada a dip in the pool under the lemon tree was very much needed.
Loved staying at Carmen Real del Realejo! I read previous reviews about the stairs to the hotel. One cannot avoid circuitous streets and lots of stairs; it's the way the city is built, so get ready. This hotel was in the perfect location for the tour of Alhambra and my nighttime tour. Would love to come back with time to enjoy the pool and eat more tortilla (yummy egg and potato concoction) at breakfast! Oh, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Enjoy your trip!
We stayed here for 3 nights during the heatwave. Lovely place, great location- we stayed in room 6 which is a suite. Huge room with lounge, dressing area and bedroom with views over the Sierra Nevada. Nice pool which we definitely needed in the very hot weather. Ana recommended a great place for tapas: campo principle- lots of different places to choose from. Breakfast was included with fruit, bread, meats, cheeses etc. Only 10 minute walk up hill to the Alhambra and 5 minutes to the centre of Granada. Forgot to take photos of the room - sorry!
