We weren’t sure what to expect, but they blew us out of the water! Great recommendations by the staff, and in the middle of all the action! Our room felt very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Already telling our friends to stay there when they come to madrid! Only down side is if you do the shared shower, it takes a while to drain. Other than that, it felt more like a hotel than a hostel!

We really, really enjoyed our stay in Mesones! The rooms are clean and very, very comfy. The breakfast offered is biscuits, coffee, milk, juice, fruit and tea. The bathroom is always clean and the wifi works perfectly all the time, as well as the AC. The location is incredible, just two minutes away walking from the cathedral and in the heart of the city center, it's surrounded by restaurants, bakeries, stores, pubs and supermarkets. The best part is the staff, the owner is the best, she's so sweet and kind. We had a problem with our key late at night and she came to help right away with her best smile and solved our issue on the spot. If you're looking for a nice, clean, quiet, cool and attentive place to spend your days in Granada, this is what you want! I'd defined come back and I recommend it 100%!

This pension was one of the few small hotels with rooms available on their website 8 months in advance. Many small hotels don’t post anything that early. Anyhow, the reservation went without a glitch and I got my confirmation right away. Its location was excellent, just behind the cathedral, along a pedestrian shopping street, right in the center of town and therefore easy to find and within walkable distance of all attractions. Note that it is on the Corpus Christi parade route (both the one with the Tarasca & giants and the religious one). So you can watch them from the balcony in the main office. On arrival early afternoon, I was greeted very politely in English. The woman also spoke French. I was given my key to a single room on the next floor. Note that the reception is on the 1st floor and all rooms are above that. The stairway in the entrance looked great but the ones to top floors definitely could use an update. There is no elevator. My room was small but clean, consisting of a bed (decent mattress), night table, sink, small table for suitcase, small tv. It also had air conditioning but only one electric plug. Two plain white towels were supplied but no toiletries. Wifi was practically non-existent in that room (had to go down to the reception to get a signal). Bathroom was next door. It was clean and hot water was plentiful in the shower. Previous travellers had left some shampoo bottles behind to be used by others. Walls were on the thin side in spots. I could hear one neighbor but not the other. Breakfast was minimal: mini-croissants and mini-muffins + tea, coffee, orange juice. It was available starting at 9:00 when the office opened. In the small living room, there was a tea/coffee corner available all day. No fridge or microwave for customers but I was told it was possible to have things put in a refrigerator at the back. Plenty of shopping around with also lots of restaurants, ice cream shops, small grocery stores. Best supermarket was less than 1 km away at the Cortes Ingles. Overall, a decent 2-star hotel in an excellent location with very reasonable rates and good staff. Only the wi-fi was somewhat deficient and the breakfast too light. But I would go back again.

I was very disappointed with the first encounter with the hotel and with the room. We came in the nightt and found a very obscure entrance to the hotel and many stairs to the reception and to the room, which were very dirty. The room seems much much nicer in the photos. In reality, it is a tiny room with a tiny bathroom. The furniture was very old - the bed-frames, the (only) chair and the bathroom door were falling apart. The wash-basin was old and broken, the bath-tub very old. One bed was terribly creaking with each move, what was very annoying. However, the linens and the room were clean. The balcony was tiny and the air-con machine was placed there, so that the balcony could not be used at all. The info on the room said there was a balcony. However, the balcony was a miniature, cramped with the air-conditioning machine, so that it practically may not be used at all. The hotel is located in a shopping street with no traffic. Nevertheless, it gets extremelynoisy in the night (clubbers going home) and early in the morning (street cleaning garbage disposal...). However, the hotel was very quiet from the inside, even though it was fully booked. However, we stayed in the hotel for 6 nights and got used to it and decided to embrace the positive sides: the linens were clean, the room was cleaned on a regular basis and the fresh towels regularly provided (they are old as well and used to be white once). The air-con was running perfectly well. The Wi-Fi was functioning perfectly well in rooms, even though the info on the hotel said it was available only in common areas. The staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast room was very pleasant and cozy, breakfast overall satisfactory (bread, spreads, juice and cookies). The location is an asset of the hotel - it is just perfect! There are many bars, restaurants and shops around. The tourist and local bus stops are in the closest vicinity. The reception desk is open from 9 to 22, breakfast is served from 9 to 11, 9 being really late if you go on trips. The hotel charges EUR 10 if the guests remove make-up with the hotel towels :))))). Considering how old the towels and the room furniture are, this is a very odd charge.

I had an overall good experience. When I arrived I did have to wait and call out for someone to come to the front desk, and the next time I went down there wasn't anyone. Neither time was an emergency so I didn't mind. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was neat and clean as well. They provide breakfast, but only some bread and juice, so if you are a big breakfast eater, it probably won't be enough. The location is great, 15 minutes from the Alhambra.

Dear Emily! First of all, thanks a lot for choosing us for your visit to Granada and for your review! We are deeply sorry because you were waiting for someone to come to the Reception; normally the main door is closed so that everyone has to ring, but probably you found it open and did not ring, so we did not think there was someone at the Reception, we are sorry, we will keep an eye on that, in order to avoid that situation. Regarding the Breakfast it is true that Spanish people used to have a different kind of breakfast, we are sorry, but this way you can taste " Spanish breakfast" you are in Spain ;) Again Emily, thanks a lot for your visit, we hope we see you again ;) Kind Regards! Belén Teba (Manager)
