Lovely hotel, with large rooms and bathrooms. It is beautifully maintained throughout. The reception staff could not be more helpful and seem to really enjoy working here. There is a sense of pride. It is a good price too and walking distance to all main sites of interest. Highly recommended.

The location for this hotel is superb, right next to the river, a calming sound. The room was comfortable and surrounded in dark wood, warm and welcoming. I was alarmed by the supply of earplugs beside the bed, however they were only needed on Thursday and Friday nights as these are popular nights out in Spain. The noise is out... More

Great hotel sitting under the Alhambra. Walking distance to everything. Warm, friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast for a small charge. If you get a verandah room at the front you can watch the passing parade if tourists and locals.

After vacationing in Spain for two weeks in many different hotels, this was our favorite overall. The serene setting and relaxing ambiance in beautiful, historical Granada overlooking the Darro River and cobblestone streets with the Alhambra high on the hill is very unique. We choose hotels carefully, prefer intimate, personal accommodations with history and character rather than cookie-cutter hotels and... More

Stayed 3 nights. Beautifully restored building, lovely rooms with very helpful staff. We parked at Plaza Peurta Real, underground car park off Acera Del Darro, this is about 400m away from the hotel, there is no parking at the hotel. Receptionist took my car number to notify authorities as i was not sure if I had entered a restricted zone... More

We stayed here for two nights. The setting is lovely, and in good reach of all the main attractions. The building has been beautifully restored. The room was clean and well furnished and lovely and cool (perfect silent aircon), although some may have found it a little dark. The bathroom was nice although the shower tended to allow lots of... We stayed at this hotel 9th - 12th June 2014 and had a "Superior" room. It was really nice, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It has no restaurant except for breakfast but is in a very good area for eating. There is a nice little bar in the street just left out of the door of the... More

The hotel is right across from a little senic stream and close to the Plaza Nueva. You can walk a couple hundred yards and look up to see Alhambra. There is no parking at the hotel. We stayed at the Ladron de Agua for two nights at the end of May, 2014. Most of the hotel's rooms are spread around a two-story interior roofed courtyard. We had a superior room, without breakfast. The public areas of the hotel have a contemporary ambiance and are quite attractive. Our room was on the second floor facing the street.... More

We are fortunate to be located in such a historic location in the heart of the Old Town and appreciate that there are occasions when this popular area can be somewhat noisy. Thank you for your insights and feedback. We hope to see you again in magical Granada! More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A building from the 16th century has become a hotel, taking its spirit from the essence of Juan Ramon Jimenez's journey and his poems. Its privileged location in the heart of Granada, at the foot of the Albayzin; its rooms bathed in the light of the Alhambra; its colonnaded patio; its lounge, vestibule and well/cistern... All these charms will lead you to the sound of water, and to a peace that will give you inner harmony. ... more   less
