Super central hotel . Receptionist was really charming and helpful . Very close to the Alhambra . Lovely old building nice touch they served sherry in the library from 7 pm which was very sociable . Could do with a make up mirror in room but apart from that all good .

As a Mother and Daughter, we stayed at the El Ladron de Agua earlier in the month. We had a wonderful 3 night stay in the Reino de la Polilla Room which, overlooking a side street, was very peaceful. The room was beautifully furnished, with luxury quality bedding and 'quiet' air conditioning, which with the temperature reaching 41 degrees, was... More

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Excellent location next to the River Darro in the old part of town with a glimpse of the Alhambra above. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. The hotel is in a great location in a part of town which seemed popular with tourists and was very busy during our visit. Yet you... More

Magical, serene, and with an aesthetic fitting with the Moorish influences of the town, El Ladron de Agua is worth a stay. With a view of the Alhambra (17 minute walk), I was so happy to be in this location, bordered by the quaint streets of the Albaicin, instead of the modern shopping district. Everything remained in close walking distance.... More

I love this hotel. It is situated in the heart of Granada, yet is away from the hustle-bustle of the Plaza Nueva. The river Darro trickles by right outside the front entrance, which is very discreet. As you enter the lobby you are immediately struck by the high ceilings, the artwork, the lighting, the atrium with the fountain and the... More

Last April I stayed there for my 40th birthday. Just based on the details I entered when booking on their site, I received a hand-written note in my room from all the staff congratulating me. The hotel is such a traquil place in a hot city, with art on the walls and an old-world sophistication to its internal courtyard. I... More

We stayed two nights at the lovely, peaceful and friendly El Ladron de Agua. The hotel is perfectly located in the Albaicin district, close to shops and restaurants, but away from the hubbub of the Plaza Nueva. The hotel has enormous character and charm -- the people who run it really care about the experience of their guests. The rooms... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A building from the 16th century has become a hotel, taking its spirit from the essence of Juan Ramon Jimenez's journey and his poems. Its privileged location in the heart of Granada, at the foot of the Albayzin; its rooms bathed in the light of the Alhambra; its colonnaded patio; its lounge, vestibule and well/cistern... All these charms will lead you to the sound of water, and to a peace that will give you inner harmony. ... more   less
