Hotel Casa 1800 Granada is a charming hotel located in a fully restored XVI century historical building, the building is known as Casa de los Migueletes and served as the headquarters of the militia at the time. The hotel is decorated with chandeliers, frescos, cupolas and luxurious furnishings, always in keeping with the noble wood of the building whilst highlighting the Classicist and Mudejar elements of the original house. The rooms are elegant and cozy, some enjoy views of the Alhambra, inner courtyards, coffered ceilings and offer all kinds of amenities. The House is organised around a central courtyard where each morning breakfast is served and in the afternoon tea is offered to the hotel guests, who are treated to a family atmosphere and making the stay special and unforgettable. The charming hotel has a privileged location in the centre of Granada between the magical Albaicin and at the foot of the Alhambra. Nearby there are museums, theatres, monuments, shops, restaurants and tapas bars.

A wonderfully preserved old merchant's house. The hotel has immense character. Our room on the 1st floor was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was a bit tired, and some of the shabby chic style furniture could do with a refresh. But the general atmosphere was first rate, and it was my wife's favorite hotel on our 11 day tour of Andalucia. The location is perfect - a quiet back street in the Albaicin area, allowing easy walking around the Albaicin, to restaurants, and to the cathedral and the town centre. The Alhambra is about 30 minutes walk uphill, which we were happy with, as we felt it so much better to stay in the Albaicin than in the very toruristy hotels by the Alhambra, which are away from all the other sights in Granada. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Granada.

Wonderful boutique hotel with lots of charm. Very clean and absolutely comfortable. The room has nothing missing: Slippers, bathrobe, heavenly bath towels, coffee machine, kettle, water - all very lovingly, even fresh flowers.

My pre booking correspondence by email was replied to promptly and their English was clearly understood. The location is excellent. Tucked away in a narrow street in the Albaicin district and full of character and charm. It’s close to restaurants and shops, but shielded from street noise. Because of the narrow street, it is not directly accessible by car or taxi. But can be easily reached by a 50m walk from the main street. If you have a lot of luggage, mention it at the time of booking. Check in was quick and easy and the staff are very helpful. Room 5 is a superior room overlooking the small courtyard. This section of the hotel is only accessible by stairs, however the opposite section does have an elevator so those who have difficulty with stairs should mention it at the time of booking. The room is slightly small but quiet and comfortable. It comes with the usual amenities like a safe, mini fridge, hair dryer, toiletries. The bed is comfortable and the WiFi is strong and stable throughout the hotel. Breakfast was included in our rate and comes with a small assortment of typical breakfast items like fruit, pastries, juices, coffee and tea. If you ask the server, the kitchen will make eggs to order. Complimentary afternoon tea was a great addition during our siesta time. The staff are friendly and helpful in making your stay a good one. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Granada 1800 and would recommend it.

My wife and a server had a spectacular stay at the Casa 1800 Granada hotel. The hotel was an old house from the 16th century, starting with this fact it is already impressive and pure history. The hotel is strategically located, practically everything is within walking distance and what is not, there is always the taxi which is very cheap or the bus service. From the city. We arrived very early at the hotel, they couldn't give us the room immediately for the same reason, but they made the effort and gave it to us at approximately 1pm, thank you for that! Meanwhile, we had lunch outside the hotel. The junior suite that we booked was clean, spacious and spectacular, I pre-paid for amenities of flowers, bottle and chocolates and they were all there waiting for my wife to see them, who was excited to see them, good for that as well as the hotel. The breakfasts were very extensive and good, additionally they can prepare eggs to your liking. The snack was a little simpler than breakfast but it still served the purpose and it was always nice to see that it was there after a day of intense walking. I want to highlight the good service that the following people gave us at the hotel: Enrique, Fernando, Elizabeth and Laura all at the reception, and additionally Mary Carmen and Tatiana who were at breakfast and snack, all of them made our stay incredible for me. wife and a server, who were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. I definitely recommend the hotel, don't hesitate to book.

We had a great stay, sharing a room with our son. There was plenty of room for the additional bed and the room (including bathroom) was relatively spacious. Staff was very nice and the hotel itself has a lot of character, including the courtyard and little living room area when one could enjoy breakfast or afternoon tea/snacks. The location was also very good, making most parts of the city easily accessible on foot, and it was close to the bus stop that takes one directly to the Alhambra. Would stay here again on a future visit.

I have really mixed feelings about this place. The staff generally seemed to be trying really, really hard. But there are some things I wish I had known earlier.
The breakfast is a B-. There's a reasonable amount of stuff but it doesn't seem to change, and if you don't get there early, the eggs are really watery. There are lights over the staircases but they don't seem to go on; my wife preferred to take the elevator rather than walk down in the dark. The room was nice but so warm, even with AC at max in October, that we had trouble sleeping. We had a shower/tub combo, which for older or mobility-impaired people isn't great. My wife and I each slipped once in the shower so we got in, made sure not to move, and got out as fast as possible; an inside mat of some sort would be helpful. The shower controls were awkward (and we're used to European showers in general), with no labels or anything. I'm not sure I ever figured out how the drain worked. It felt like it might be broken but at some point I got the water draining properly and I stopped messing with it. There's a nice pan/rainfall shower head but it seemed very clunky to use. We relied on the hand sprayer but that was mounted really low for some reason.
Now that said, the location was pretty amazing. We walked to the Alhambra and the Albaicin with no issue. The hotel is physically attractive. And like I said at the beginning, the staff seemed to be trying most of the time. Some could be a little curt, and they seemed understaffed. There was a line at the reception area much of the time. A couple times I had to wait while staff chatted with a different customer, which I sort of get -- you want to make everyone feel welcome -- but it got to be a little frustrating. Overall the hotel is pretty good, but it was not our favorite for sure.

A real gem in the middle of Granada. Two or three minutes walk from the main roads but down two very quiet streets so there’s absolutely no night noise. It is hard to believe this Hotel is three stars the service and the attention to detail and the quality of everything should make it at least a four star or maybe even a five star. All the staff are friendly and warm and attentive. My bedroom was exactly as I had hoped - comfortable with good linen and bed and great views. They have successfully combined the old and the new so you definitely feel the history of the building, but everything also feels very solid and - it all works!

Beautiful hotel, lovingly furnished, very friendly reception and great location in the center of the old town - actually speaks for full marks. As our room was next to the elevator and above the kitchen, it was not possible to sleep in. From 7 a.m. onwards you can hear the dishes clattering in the kitchen, the food processors and the dishwasher...

I was expecting this hotel to be the best of our list of boutique hotels for our Spain vacation, especially considering Rick Steve's description. When we first arrived, the hotel lived up to its picturesque promise. I knew we would need to drag our suitcases into the no-car old city, but that was part of the deal. The hotel is indeed very pretty and quaint. From that point on, most was downhill.
I had told the hotel this was a 50th wedding anniversary trip and asked for a room with a view. We faced a white stucco wall. The room was in every way a safety hazard for older travelers. The tiny bathroom was down 2 narrow steps. The shower was placed in a way that you had nothing to grab onto to steady you as you got in and out as it was next to the toilet on one side and the bidet on the other. We needed to help each other in and out of the tub. The shower head was barely 5 feet off the tub bottom, which I managed to fit under. However, my husband who is 6'1, had to do a deep squat to fit under the shower, and I needed to steady him. When I first turned on the water, a flood of little brown somethings came into the water. I thought it was paint from the window which was in the tub, but then I realized they were live bugs. I thought about reporting this to the desk, but we had already unpacked and had only one more night.
Breakfast was also a physical challenge. There were only a few tables on the same level as the buffet. If you did not find one free, you needed to carry your breakfast down a half flight of steps without a railing. Because my husband has a balance problem, I needed to run waitress service up and down the steps to bring him breakfast. The breakfast was the worst we had encountered on our trip. Stale pastries, no warm milk for café con leche. It was more like a NYC street cart in quality.
The concierge services were also not up to par. The desk felt understaffed. Restaurant reservations were not made, and with the exception of Juan, personnel were often chilly. One woman simply ignored us.
If you are disabled or of a certain age, this is not the hotel for you.

Dear guest, First of all, thank you for taking the time to give us your opinion. Please note that the reception is open 24 hours, if you were not comfortable in the room you were assigned, no problem we would have helped them to find a solution, for us it is very important that all our guests feel comfortable and in your case we would have liked to have given us the opportunity to have helped them. With regard to breakfast, we would like to inform you that there is always a person at the buffet to help you with anything you need, as well as to bring you the dishes if necessary. We hope you will give us another opportunity. Kind regards,

The view of the Alhambra from the room we stayed in was the most pleasant aspect of this stay. We slept looking at this fantastic monument to the Moorish presence in Spain, it was quite inspiring. Being in a historic location, access is a little restricted, you can only get there on foot, but we had excellent help getting our luggage there, an Argentinean who works at the reception, extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast has few varieties and, curiously, to serve us there was a minimal spatula, on some days it was impossible to use it to pick up the pineapple pieces, cut into larger sizes.

Not steps, but the small alleyways to get there are cobbled and uneven. Once inside, I'm unsure if there's a lift, although there are ground floor rooms available.
Dear Mrs Leslie,
We have a courtyard with a retractable roof, that is usually open at breakfast and tea time.
You can sit in the tables and chairs located around our patio.
Kind regards.
