The Hotel Riu Costa del Sol is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, complete with live entertainment that, while popular, may be too loud for some. It's considered good value for money, offering affordable all-inclusive options, and guests have called out the hotel's cleanliness and friendly staff. The range of amenities, including various pools, generally receives high marks, though the food occasionally falls short. Rooms are clean and spacious, yet noise can be an issue. The hotel's beach proximity is praised, despite being somewhat distant from the town center.

Visited 7th April to 14th for 1 wk. The hotel is very impressive pools lovely especially the 1 at the front of hotel good aqua aerobics just wish they'd loose the whistle. Room was lovely I agree about the towels need replacing. Wasn't keen on main buffet restaurant went mostly in the 1 in front which turns into a Spanish 1 in evening. The Italian was nice went 3 times but need better Italian food pork loin & fish with potato isn't Italian but it was better than main buffet restaurant. Drink I found very good especially the pink carva. Beer is good too & if u want Gordon's gin ask for it. Wasn't keen on entertainment mostly riu staff miming although they do work hard. All in all enjoyed it but wouldn't return. Have a walk to marina it's lovely

Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Food was lovely, great choice. Drinks were free flowing. Entertainment during day and at night were great. Pools were lovely. Always got a bed! Couldn’t fault this hotel. Special mention to Mario who changed our room quickly- we had requested 2 singles and got a double. Would ask for a room second floor up … the next time. Will return. The riu app was great and we used often. Location is outside main strip but we enjoyed the walk in when we wanted to go to the shops. Beach straight across road. Taxi rank outside so was glad we hadn’t booked transfer back to airport as was as easy and cheaper to just get a taxi. Had a lovely massage at the spa. Best one stop hotel/resort iv been to.

Visited for a week in March. Staff were great. Plenty of sunbeds and chairs just not sure if it was the time of year visited or that is normal as not been to Spain for years. Food was the best we have had for a while especially the soups. Pity the drinks weren't branded like we have had in every Riu we have stayed in, didn't find out we could have Smirnoff until a couple of days before leaving but you have to ask for it not just vodka, also you didn't always get the drink asked for from certain male members of staff anyway. The towels to be honest are dreadful and really need replacing. Apart from the drinks and towels we have booked for two weeks in October and are really looking forward to it.

Very nice relaxing week. Everywhere spotless. Food very good. Being exclusively all inclusive, beer and wine is available as self service! We found the main restaurant rather busy, so mostly ate in the Spanish restaurant. We may have missed out on variety, as the choices in the Spanish restaurant were always the same. There was a big enough selection to be able to mix and match different meals for the 5 nights we used it. Although a buffet, the food was cooked in small batches, so everything was fresh and hot. We ate in the Italian restaurant once. It was nice to be served a main course, but I was disappointed by the limited choice, and lack of vegetables. The menus never changes, so one visit per holiday is enough. Entertainment was typical of this type of hotel. Ok, but nothing special. The bathroom towels, and pool towels were rather thin, not fluffy at all, otherwise, room was excellent, spacious, comfortable beds, nice balcony overlooking large pool and sea view. Kettle, mugs, tea and coffee supplied, but restocking erratic at best. As a nudist, a plus for me would have been a nudist area, or rooftop. There are a couple of nudist beaches in the area, but too far away for casual visits. Overall, I would be happy to return.

Had a lovely week at this hotel. The staff work very hard at keeping the place clean and are always smiling and saying hello. Room was lovely and spacious beds very comfy and shower powerful, although whilst using the water could run hot and cold at time. Would have been nice to have had a bottle of water in fridge on arrival to room, towels for drying after shower were a little small but adequate enough. Balcony was lovely a nice pool view and a hanging rack for wet cossies etc… small table and chairs. Hairdryer in room was powerful if using at top heat, otherwise was really feeble on cooler heat so that may be a struggle in hight of summer. Food was good, sometimes could be too over cooked especially if the meat was fried, other half had fried chicken one evening and it was as hard as rock! Plenty to choose from lots if salad and fruit, could possible do with another i e cream station as the Que can get really big. Always found something to eat. Only gripe i have about the restaurant is some of the staff are too quick to whip your table stuff away when you go to get your pudding! Came back to our table one evening to find it completely cleared and re-laid despite having some drunk still left in our glasses! I know it gets busy and they need the space but they need to be a bit more attentive over this, perhaps give it a little longer than the 3 minutes we were gone! From then on we always left something in the table like a pair of glasses. Entertainment is ok, if you are there when Elvis is on its deffo worth seeing, i dont like Elvis but the chap that did it was very good. Other shows are just as you expect for this type of hotel and it gets very crowded, they could do with so much more seating in that area. The hotel itself it more on the outskirts of Torremolinos , a short walk of about 20mins or so gets you to the old town or carry on further around the coastal walk and you come into the main part of Torremolinos, which we only discovered on our last day! Its an hours walk from the hotel to Belamedena again along the coastal path. Its very near the airport so expect a little aircraft noise but it is not that disturbing and only 10mins to the airport in a taxi. We would certainly return again and can see why many people do.

Family trip with 8 of us in 3 rooms! Firstly spotless areas - I've never seem such hard working staff at all times ! The rooms were perfect and again very clean. Nice little balcony and Fridge in the room. I requested 'smirnoff' vodka and this was facilitated when ordering drinks. Food was great- some repetitive but not too much! Dining staff excellent- area very clean. Pool areas are great- aqua aerobics was good fun. Entertainment team are great and very friendly. Only one thing to say - Only 2 lifts for.9 floors - we were 9th floor and sometimes waited a while at the lift.

Great holiday at Rui Costa del Sol with our family of ten. Staff are excellent, well trained and helpful ~ nothing was too much trouble. Everything was spotlessly clean, everyone works so hard to ensure holidaymakers get a wonderful holiday. We had quite a bit of rain and the staff ensured everyone’s safety by continually sweeping away the rainwater ~ I was really impressed with their diligence. The food and service in the main restaurant were excellent. One evening we booked to go to the Italian restaurant ~ sadly it wasn’t the relaxed evening that we were expecting. The waitress rushed us to choose our main dishes (only four on offer) my husband who needed a vegetarian and gluten free dish had to have one made especially for him which arrived 35 minutes after ordering. I had the spinach and mushroom lasagne in a tomato sauce ~ it was very poor ~ hardly any spinach or mushrooms in it ~ and the tomato sauce was congealed ~ very disappointing. We had four teenagers with us who enjoyed going in all four swimming pools ~ sometimes in the rain! All were heated except for one. One thing I found difficult was the noise level in the foyer / lounge area. It was hard to have a conversation with reception staff with the level of noise. And on wet days there were no real indoor places where you could sit quietly and read a book. Apart from that it was a great hotel. We hired two cars and drove to Ronda one day and had a lovely time exploring the ancient town. In Torremolinos we visited the Casa de los Navajas about a mile from the hotel ~ a beautiful mansion house built in the 1920’s ~ free entry and well worth a visit. Thank you to all staff at Rui Costa del Sol for making it a memorable holiday for our family.

We took our fussy coeliac son on our first all inclusive and the staff were amazing - Mohamed and the chefs in the other restaurants were brilliant at ensuring his dietary needs were accommodated and he had plenty to enjoy for the 5 night stay. The hotel is well located by the beach, the beer and wine are pretty good and there’s loads of options for drinks too. The kids had fun in the pools and the big one is heated which meant it was warmer in than out most of the time we were there! Only downside was it rained a lot! And the nicer spaces around the hotel got filled up fast whilst everyone was stuck indoors! The evening entertainment was surprisingly fun and we managed a trip into central Malaga and Torremelinos whilst there which are both worth a visit (Malaga more so). The staff were amazing, polite, friendly, helpful and the bed was comfy .

This hotel looks great for the kids, perfect for families & all ages. Definitely coming back next March 😃 If I was to criticise anything it would be the towels in the room, I like a think soft towel, they were a little too thin, they need replacing.
