The hotel is quite old but clean. The problem was the terrible smell of nicotine inside the room. After 2 hour inside, decide to search a new hotel more comfortable. If you are no smoker person, don’t choose this hotel.

We stayed here for a three night break as the San Cristobal Hotel was fully booked. We were very pleasently surprised as the hotel was excellent. The room we stayed in on the sixth floor was beautiful with a balcony looking over the street and the hotel was very clean. The breakfast was excellent in the restaurant downstairs and we paid a lot less for our stay than we would have at the San Cristobal. We were also offered freshly cooked eggs every morning or an omelette of our choice. The quality of the breakfast and the rooms was far better than many on the more expensive hotels and the oldtown was a 2 minute walk away. Would certainly stay here next time in Marbella. Great staff and great hotel.

Great location for the centre of town, night life and the narrow strip of beach in Marbella. Taxis right on the doorstep. The place seemed clean and modern. Staff were all helpful and friendly, though the lady running the buffet breakfast had a stinking cold so we gave that a swerve. It did look good though. We got no sleep. Not really fussed by traffic noise, but the hotel itself is noisy, with zero sound insulation between rooms and when they laid the new floor finishes, they decided concrete would deaden the sound - so every voice and chair scrape echoes through the building. We slept with the window open just to try to drown out the intermittent internal noise with the thrum of the external. Except on the sea facing elevation you get smoke from the Burger Kind kitchen with the balcony doors open. Not noticeable with the bathroom window, the balcony was unusable during frying times. I got some kind of reaction to the bedsheet washing powders. The mattress was ok after we flipped it over. If you're there to party, poke around the old town or dash to the beach, and you sleep like a log, you could do a lot worse. We won't be back.

Having read some reviews suggesting that the site was noisy , the beds were uncomfortable and the breakfast was meagre, we were very pleasantly surprised that none of these proved correct. The site is on the western edge of the old town, so only a 5 minute walk to the major sights of Marbella, yes it does face a busy main road, but with good soundproofing and being on the 5th floor it was anything but noisy. The balcony was small and overlooked the main road , but it was nice to sit out and enjoy the evening sun, before venturing out into town. The room was very comfortable (including the bed) with all the facilities necessary and good air conditioning. The breakfast was anything but meagre , there was ample choice of good fresh fruit and cold meats , cheese as well as the usual coffees, bread and pastries, and was also good value at 8 Euros. Additionally an egg dish was cooked on request. The staff were always helpful and very polite despite our limited Spanish, and seemed to enjoy their jobs around the hotel. If you want to avoid the enormous tourist hotels on the sea front , and the more basic "hostels" in the old town , this is an excellent choice.

I was warmly welcomed to this hotel by Antonio at reception. During our stay he went over and above to ensure that we were comfortable in our stay. The room itself was spacious, good beds, had a high level of cleanliness and the balcony was an additional plus. Given the above information and the location of this hotel, I was surprised at how affordable it was and would highly recommend to anyone wishing to explore central Marbella.
