I am currently a guest but have cut short my stay to fly home due to a COVID 19 breach. A cleaner had been servicing our room never takes her mask OFF in our presence while cleaning our room. To make things worse, she comes right in our faces, despite not speaking English and talks to us with no mask on. We told the hotel but they did not care.

Having been to Puente for a cocktail beforehand, we knew the hotel a little so were very excited to book a 2 night stay as part of our engagement celebration. It exceeded our expectations in every single way! From the moment we arrived, staff went above and beyond in every way they could. Initially we could not find a place to park near reception so I got out of the car to figure it out and within minutes they went searching for my partner and his car to help him park! Incredible service. We then received an upgrade to our room which we were very grateful for as we had heard not all rooms were perfect. We were shocked to walk into the most beautiful room, complete with a bottle of beautiful champagne. We spent 3 days lounging around the expansive pools, tropical gardens and eating and drinking at the many restaurants. The food at the restaurants were out of this world (although not cheap)! The square with the restaurants and bar at night blew our mind. The atmosphere, vibe and scenery were stunning, complete with the dj and music and great drinks just made for perfect evenings both nights. Would highly recommend the Italian Restaurant Seraphina and also having a drink in Les Jardines. Another highlight was when we rang to see if we could have a late check out (as we knew the hotel wasn't at capacity) which they were more than happy to help with. All in all, while it was an expensive few days, it was made extremely special and will be back for sure!!

We’ve spent a week in Puente Romano in mid July and we truly had an amazing holiday. There was just one problem: queues on breakfast. Now, during the pandemic, you can’t put food to your plate by yourself, so you need to ask a member of staff to put you everything. Therefore there’s quite a lot of people waiting and the service is a bit slow. Also not everyone speaks good English so they don’t understand what you are asking for. Nevertheless we had an awesome holiday!

Dear polinav490, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay in Puente Romano, we are delighted that you had an amazing holiday. We previously offered a full buffet breakfast to our guests, however respecting the current situation and the governmental instructions for COVID-19 prevention, we have had to modify the breakfast service to an assisted buffet. All guests with breakfast included are however welcome to enjoy breakfast in the breakfast area, or a continental breakfast in their room, without an additional charge. We would like to thank you again for your comments, and we very much look forward to welcoming you again soon. With kind regards, Lucie Millner Executive Assistant

I do not usually write negative reviews because it seems a shame to note a bad day when perhaps other days were perfect. But today was a really bad day. We had gone over to the Puente Romano because we wanted to see Nagüeles beach and the hotel has a restaurant on the beach. We were shown to a comfortable table under cover and our drinks order was taken ( beer, a glass of wine and sparkling mineral water to make a spritzer). We waited. And waited, And waited. Some 30 minutes later the drinks arrived ( a beer and a glass of wine and still water) and our food order was taken. Sardines and a salad. To be fair the food arrived reasonably promptly (20 minutes or so) and my sardines were very tasty. However we had finished our drinks by the time the food arrived and ordered another glass of wine and a beer when the waiter came over with the food. These drinks simply never arrived and our table remained uncleared until we left at 16:40. In short the service delay and lack of any drinks was quite disappointing for such an expensive hotel with a supposedly good reputation. Neither our waiter nor any other staff made themselves available for most of our stay. I blamed it on a lack of zoning where the service staff were all over the place and not attending a prescribed set of tables. As I say it may have been an off day but it was bad. We did mention our concern at the time (no drinks, table uncleared and minimal attention) but there was no attempt at service recovery. Not even a mini ice cream with the bill... The experience cast us 62 Euros. (Salad, Sardines, one beer, one glass of wine, and water and a cover charge to boot). All rather disappointing and to be honest we are not rushing back and having looked around, with hindsight, we should have gone anywhere else. Be aware, unless you pick a "good day" of course.
