As the other reviews say, the hotel is blessed with a great location, close to city center and restaurants and bars. Also the walk to Playa de La Malagueta would take around 20 minutes by walking. Because of the pandemic situation the bars downstairs close at midnight, so we've been lucky and slept well in room 409. The check-in was nice and easy, though we got there around 1 a.m. on the 19-th to 20-th of August 2020. It was a guy at reception then, and I am sorry I didn't catch his name, because he was the only nice people, in the reception area. My situation involved an extension of the stay, by another night. I reserved and paid two nights by “booking.com” and because the strange flight situation back to our home, we had to stay one more night (actually we left at midnight). We paid around 55-57 euros per night for the first two and when we ask for another night: A. It was difficult to explain to two ladies at reception what I wanted. First I let then know we will be staying one more night when we got nack from the town late in the night before, but the first lady didn’t put a note in their system. I called reception around 11 a.m. the next day to tell her we were not being checking-out at 12, but wanted to stay another night. The game begun- the first one did speak good English, she seems to understand so told her I am a member Accor. But their online system wasn't working then. I told her I will call again and then come downstairs to settle the issue. Because this night was on a weekend, the price was 71 euros, even with Accor discount. I was a little disappointed and expressed that, but the next lady wasn’t so good at English, so I had to tell her, again, what I wanted and I did book, though reception, another night, by giving her my Accor No. B. My disappointment was that even though I stayed already two nights at the hotel they were very brutal in telling me this is the price for the hotel at the weekend. I paid in cash, around 14.00, tired of their attitude, the 71 euros. In the afternoon, when we found out that we have a flight at 01.30 night and we have to leave the hotel at midnight, my husband went to reception and told them that we ask for a courtesy of their management in this hard time. Because we don't have so much money left (this extra day wasn't planned) maybe they could return the difference between the first rate of 55 euro and the 71 euros. We paid for a day, but we will have a very early check out, at midnight, I mean we will not sleep at all that night in the hotel. Oh my, she was so determined to make us feel angry and frustrated and very obtuse. She told me that’s the hotel policy. And then I came and ask her how do you know? Ask your manager maybe he or she would be more open minded in this specific situation (with pandemic, cancellation of flights delicate situation) and she just kept telling me “no, no!” and got so annoyed that I insisted a little bit.. I asked to speak with the manager because not only the refusal to refund part of the price upset me, but the tone and the words she used to speak with us. We were not impressed with the response from our complaint so won’t be staying again and would not recommend this hotel.

Dear Mrs Annette022 . I am very sorry that your stay was not to your liking. I think there may also have been some misinterpretation that I will try to clear up. You made a reservation with a special price for two nights. The prices were not 55-57 euros. The special prices have special booking conditions and were € 60 for Thursday night and € 67 for Friday night. An average of 63.50 euros per night. For Saturday night the price was 74 euros and with the discount of your ALL card, the price you paid was 70.30 €. The price you wanted to be applied for the last night was subject to conditions, including availability, and it could not be applied. We apply the discount for being an ALL member. We cannot apply a discount for early check-out at midnight. You have used the room. You could have asked to leave the room later (there is a late check-out until 17:00 p.m. for 20 €) or you could have also asked for the luggage room, where you could have left your bags until midnight and without any cost. Perhaps at that time the receptionist's tone could seem rude but really the tone was firm since she was not going to contact the manager, at Saturday midnight, to ask about something that she knew perfectly well how it worked. And of course she refused to give you her last name and nationality because it is something that is nobody's Business Best regards

This place is in a great location for an overnight stop in Malaga being just a. five minute stroll from the centre. Great staff, whether its behind reception or behind the bar and its a good price. Its all standard Ibis stuff, no frills. There is parking for a fee which can be useful. The Covid precautions are good with hand sanitiser stations at several points around reception and perspex screens etc. Its starting to look a bit tired and tatty around the corners though (finishes coming off some surfaces and door frames in the shower room , shower door wouldn't close properly etc). It would be excellent if Accor would spend the money.

Stayed here at the start of July for a full day stay, before our flight in the evening. Staff is super friendly and welcoming and they were constantly cleaning and preparing the hotel for guests. The rooms are the older Ibis rooms; yet to be refurbished but were super clean and well maintained. The only downside is the air con wasn’t up to standard as the external temperate outside was 38C. The air con, I think, will work sufficiently to ‘normal’ temperatures but it didn’t seem to have the “chill effect”, which would be a problem in hotter months. Location is excellent and only a few minutes walk from the city centre. It is a basic hotel so don’t arrive with high expectations but I was impressed and would likely return for a shorter stay. The hotel is only 15-20 minutes from AGP airport.

Great location - easily accessible by bus from the main bus station or a 20min walk, and within easy walking distance of bars/restaurants. Spacious clean, quiet room. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Only negative was that the room was too hot I struggled to sleep - the air con is not turned on in winter. Even though it was 22°C and very warm outside! It does not say that it is not turned on in winter on their website, so this information should be included as I always select hotels with air con.
