The Kempinski is the gift that just keeps giving ! Love the staff and the rooms . The pools are beautiful. Waking up to the magnificent sunrise each day is so relaxing. I recommend having a spa treatment too. I stayed a week and will be back ASAP . Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Hotel's Favorite
Our third Kempinski Hotel that we've been to. I think this Kempinski is probably even better in the summer, because we are here in March and the Spiler beach club is closed and only one outdoor pool is open. Maybe because they aren't as busy and the weather is cooler. But we still had a great stay and overall would recommend it. The outdoor pool that is open is heated and is very nice, right next to the restaurant. Only one restaurant but we were very happy with the food quality and service. Prices a bit high but not horrible. Room was very nice - Grand Mediterranean w sea / pool view and room chamber service was perfect. We hit the spa sauna almost every night - towels and locker rooms in the spa. Also a small indoor pool and 24/7 gym. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great recommendations by the front desk staff to visit Ronda and Tarifa (amazing beach!). Nice walking path along the water where you can walk all the way to Estepona. Highly recommend the Wild Cafe right down the street, excellent healthy food and great service. Only negative: - beach at the hotel is very rocky and not manicured / maintained, nothing like a tropical beach, so if you are looking for that then I would suggest staying elsewhere.

Kempinski Hotel Bahia is advertised as follows: The hotel has five redesigned Restaurants and Bars, the elegant yet laid-back Baltazar Bar & Grill, the stunning Black Rose The Bar in the lobby, the stylish Spiler Beach Club (seasonal) as well as El Mirador (breakfast with a view) and the traditional Spa. We booked again having previously had a couple of great experiences. Sadly we were extremely disappointed to find just one lunch/dinner restaurant open in the Spiler Beach Club/Bar - quite pricey for a beach bar with limited 'same' menu on offer throughout our stay. Happy to pay for quality dining so were obliged to travel by taxi into Estepona and Porto Banus to find more discerning restaurants. The Black Rose Bar menu was extremely limited (burgers/wraps/sandwiches) so could not be used as an alternative dining experience. Beds and room service/cleanliness of all facilities above standard. Staff throughout extremely friendly and engaging. Surprised to find that on day one when we sat on the sunbeds in the Spiler area we were told that they were for the public and not hotel residents as Spiler Beach Club was a separate entity to the hotel- but if we wanted to use them we would be charged 49 euros per person/per bed/per day! Throughout our stay these 'posh' sun beds remained mostly empty. Access into/out of the pool for anyone with mobility issues is also of concern due to lack of high hand rails. Sadly having previously experienced the 'special' dining experience of the Baltazar restaurant which was not available to us we would no longer rate this as a 5* hotel. Apparently restaurants are closed ad hoc to worth checking when you book.

Dear Worldclass UK, At first, we would like to thank you for having chosen Kempinski Hotel Bahia Estepona for your recent stay at the Costa del Sol. At the same time, we wish to express our utmost apologies for any inconvenience you have experienced and it is with regret having to read that not all of your, and our own set expectations were fully met. We are also pleased to know that you had wonderful encounters with our staff members, as it is them who are able to make the difference in the experience our guests have at the end of the day. It is with regret having to read about your disappointment of having only our Spiler Beach club open during your stay and that you found very limited the snacks menú of our Black Rose Bar, we appreciate your comments and from October 2022 we will open a second restaurant to further enhance the stay experience of our guests. It goes without saying that we would have liked to impress you way more by our services during your stay and would once again like to apologize for the inconveniences you have experienced. However, we do hope, and it would be our utmost pleasure, to be given the chance of welcoming you back to Kempinski Hotel Bahia again in the future in order to show to you that we do take your comments seriously and will work on enhancing the experience of our guests further. Thank you very much. Until then I remain with kind regards from the Costa del Sol and wishing you all the best, Gerardo Canivell Front Office Manager

A big thank you to the Kempinski Bahia team for making our recent stay with you so very special. During our stay the 'Lady in Red' (leading the customer experience team) went on and above to ensure that our stay was amazing, with surprises around every corner, ensuring my wife's birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary was celebrated in style, memories which we will both cherish for many years. Great restaurants, outstanding breakfast, amazing room with an incredible view of the med. all staff without exception were professional and very friendly, fyi we particularly liked the espresso martinis' in the black rose bar :>) highly recommended hotel, we will be back next year David and Carla

It is a nice hotel, the food is lovely, breakfast is extremely good. The beds are comfortable, good pillows, clean rooms. Staff are very hospitable and pools are great, plenty of sunloungers. Superb gym. What lacks the 5* is the lack of available fresh water. Used to be three bottles a day, now just one. Thereafter everything is chargeable and I just don’t like paying €5 for a coke on principal. The Spilers bar has an area of sunloungers that are not part of the availability to hotel guests. Unless you pay more. It immediately creates a peasant side which is very odd given the £6700 I paid for one room for ten days. The bar area in the evening has absolutely no vibe. No evening entertainment as advertised bar flamenco one Saturday night during dinner. No yoga as advertised - discontinued no updated. Absolutely no water sports as advertised. That stopped last year no update. Bit frustrating when I chose this hotel specifically for the yoga and the kayaking! Half board is a €65 limit per person, per day. Don’t expect dinner and drinks to be free rolling. It’ll cost more than that for a full dinner so you have to pay the difference. I wouldn’t mind so much but for that I’d like not to be charge for the bread and table water. Seems to be alot of entitled people unable to put their rubbish in the bin, take back their used towels which spread across no longer occupied sunloungers. Surprised there’s not a better system god checking in your used towels, compelling the lazy folk. It’s not remote but shops aren’t accessible without a short taxi ride. In short it’s a good hotel with fresh towels and bathrobes but it’s not super special. Lovely not fabulous. If you want high end with lots of facilities this might not be the one. Otherwise, enjoy.

Dear snowsummerKent, At first, we would like to thank you for having chosen Kempinski Hotel Bahia Estepona for your recent stay at the Costa del Sol. At the same time, we wish to express our utmost apologies for any inconvenience you have experienced and it is with regret having to read that not all of your, and our own set expectations were fully met. It is great to read through your positive feedback and we are pleased that you enjoyed your room along with the facilities very much. We are also pleased to know that you had wonderful encounters with our staff members, as it is them who are able to make the difference in the experience our guests have at the end of the day. In my newly appointed role as the new General Manager of this beautiful hotel it is my, along with the team, utmost priority to further enhance the experience of our guests during their holiday with us. We have received your constructive feedback and have taken time already to look into your addressed points in detail. Certain areas can be rectified quite easily and will do so in order to avoid any further disappointment i.e. advertisement of sports facilities. It is correct though that the hotel provides one bottle of water a day per person, which is quite a standard in many hotels our class. With regards to the half board system, we have already made first minor adjustments and have started to offer a dedicated menu with dishes to chose from when on a half board meal plan. We understand that the money credit system was maybe not implemented in the best way possible and we thank you for addressing this issue. It is with regret having to read about your disappointment when it comes to our Spiler Beach club, which is a dedicated area exclusively for members that day. We can understand the desire of our hotel guests also wanting to use that area, yet, until now this system has proven to be quite successful as our spacious garden offers many options for relaxation with plenty of sunbeds around. We will certainly look into the current procedure with regards to un/occupied sunbeds and work on a better solution here in order to avoid further disappointment. The hotel is in a good condition, which is quite an exception with Kempinski hotels. Unfortunately, most Kempinski hotels are in a very bad condition. This hotel is very nice, we rented the Bahia suite. It is a very beautiful and big suite. It also has a generously big balcony. Unfortunately, the service doesn't match the 5 star standard at all. With the exception of the cleaning service, which was above standard. The rest of the services were very bad. You have to fight for everything. We found many things in the rate, but in reality nothing was provided for us. These top suites have a cabana on the beach, including water and a fruit platter free of charge. And what is the reality? I came to the cabana, ordered the complimentary water and fruit platter and received a bill for 16 Euro. Every single day! And everyday, I told them that the water and fruit platter are included in the price. "Yes, sir" they said and canceled the bill. Can the manager of the hotel please explain to me why I have to beg everyday for something that is included in my rate? Could you please provide training to all your employees? It's not that complicated. A special mention is the dry cleaning service. We had 2 pieces for dry cleaning included in our rate. In the beginning, it worked well, but then we started receiving the clothing after 2 or 3 days. In the end, we got to know that they were sending some of the clothes to an external dry cleaning service, where they have problems with the staff. The result - my wife's Agent Provocateur pajamas were ruined - brand new, for 400 Euros. We also reported this to the reception and according to their instructions, sent it on 28th of June to the address reception.estepona@kempinski.com. Since they ignored it, we sent it (as platinum members) to the lady in red Bianca Stegenova to the adress bianca.stegenova@kempinski.com and she ignored us again. Today is 7th of August and even after a six weeks, we have not received any response at all. Five star hotel? What a joke. It's actually 3 stars. And I am very, very polite.

Had the most amazing holiday with my family. My 7 year old son loved it and really loved the kids club, they had interesting activities to keep him busy every day and he was really happy, the kids club staff were fantastic. The drinks and cocktails at the bar were perfect, lavish breakfast and exquisite meat at Baltazar. The concierge and staff at the door were extremely attentive and helpful all the time, helping us get taxis to go to the city and with great recommendations of where to go in town to eat and visit. Reception team were great and flexible with check out. Beautiful rooms, gardens, restaurants and common areas, everything very clean and well maintained. I will definetely come back here for holidays

We returned to this hotel for a week at the end of June/beginning of July and we’re very pleased we did. We could not have asked for more. The relaxed atmosphere, discreet and charming service and top class facilities make it a great choice for those who want to enjoy a chilled time but still be able to dip in and out of the bright lights of Marbella. Our room on the 6th floor was large & very comfortable with a nice garden/sea view. Our only comment would be that it was lacking sunshine on the balcony. Housekeeping was great. We enjoyed our days around the pools. No rushing up to reserve sunbeds here, they are plentiful with sun umbrellas & on soft, carpet like grass. Food and drinks are served to the sunbeds and the Haagen Daas ice cream cabin is a great idea. We were disappointed that Baltazar was not open during our stay but Spiler beach restaurant is excellent with a varied menu and great service. The sardines & boquerones starter ‘special’ was delicious. Breakfast had all the hallmarks of a Kempinski buffet - loads of variety, excellent quality, plentiful and with great service. We wish you a great summer Kempinski and we will return.

We picked the KEMPINSKI hotel as we were only in Estepona for a few days as we were attending a wedding there and the location worked well. We went with our 2 kids ages 4 1/2 and 3. Bad points - the swimming pool is FREEZING - the floor around the swimming pool is extremely slippery both my children hurt themselves several times- it really upset me and as a result we stayed away from the pool. The “childrens pool” isn’t for children - it’s cold and deep- so you can’t relax at all!! The sunbeds has bird poo on Service didn’t start till 11am and when it did it was hard to locate someone.. The beach area is horrible - all stones The restaurant - is reasonable, but pricy! The bath in the room was either burning hot or cold - temperamental Breakfast was pretty poor! Limited buffet and birds land on your table and eat your food! The kids club was pretty poor. Nice staff but not what It should be! - needs improving and more staff!!!! Good points The room was ok, well kept, clean The staff were friendly and nice - this was very good! The hotel was clean There is only one 5 seater cab in Estepona so be ready to use Ubers. This is certainly not a hotel for families with small kids- there’s nothing for them to do, a nice swimming pool and beach is a huge factor when choosing a hotel- to have a freezing pool which causes accidents when you enter or exit is not for me at all!!!!!
