Been here plenty of times now but never got round to writing a review. The hotel has had a huge refurb since we last Stayed and it looks even more incredible. The hotel was very quiet which is understandable, but the service from the minute you walk in is 5* The only restaurant open was Spillers that used to be La Cabana (which I preferred) :) food was fantastic and very reasonable considering the setting and the hotel. Will definitely come back.
The stay was great especially thanks to the wonderful staff! The restaurant was also amazing, not too complex food but very tasty. Pool area and garden was very nice and tidy with plenty of space. The room was clean and nice but maybe a bit dated by 5-star standards. We think the beds need updating, too hard for our taste. The beach and seabed was full of stones which made it on the brink of dangerouse to enter. Overall a very nice stay!
We stayed in the apartment within the hotel and we had a great experience. The apartment was fully equipped; the decor was nice and the rooms were spacious. The staff was very friendly and the location is good; a few kilometres outside the city centre of beautiful Estepona.
So this is somehow a peculiar review as I am now reviewing a Hotel I was not actually able to set foot in. Yep, that's right. Yet, what happened still deserved an early review, which will be complemented after I will finally have had the chance to visit this hotel. And this early review can only be fair with an "excellent" rating tag. Due to this bloody global pandemic, our trip to the Bahia Kempinski, which was supposed to take place during the Easter break, was obviously cancelled. Yet I wish to say that the hotel staff and management has been SO professionnal in the way they dealt with the cancellation, everything was perfect. Reaction time, flexibility, kindess. Same can be said over the booknig process, which was just flawless, quite a few months ago and before all of the current mess. This is also why you chose prestigious hotels in the first place, yet it does not happen every day, and by that I mean not every decade, that you have to cancel your trip due to a pandemic. The way they dealt with the mess Covid 19 had created was, in my case, very impressive and very much on par with what you expect of such a brand. We will do everything we can to ensure we will finally be able to visit the hotel as soon as possible, and I have to say the hotel looks amazing. We were very much looking forward getting to know this beautiful place. Given the extended contacts we now had with the hotel, and the way they dealt with our cancelled vacations, we just can't wait to actually be there.…
We had the Presidential suite for our family. Good size with complimentary minibar and car hire. The room service staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault them. The room was a bit tired (ripped unmatched furniture) Had ant issues that we reported Some of the lights were out or flickered. Fake flowers The room is a bit tired and needs renovation. Not all the pools were open. This should have been pointed out to us when we booked, this holiday wasn’t cheap. Also, the grumpy pool attendant was bit keen to close the pool at 5pm and the bar service around the pool was poor at best. The hotel is lovely and staff, on a whole, are brilliant. I’ve given this place a 3. This reflects the price we paid. If it was half the price it would have been a 4. We ordered room service for one of our meals and this came 6/6 (last) of all the restaurants we’d been to on our stay here. Saying that, it was still good food, it’s just that other restaurants scored better. Plan B took the honours. …
