Shower water temperature at best was tepid. Toilet hardly flushed and room door wasn't straight. Curtains didn't keep the light out. Other than that the hotel was modern and well located close to the beach and about a 25mins walk to the centre of the old town
Clean, good Covid 19 safely and hygiene measures implementation, good location, good staff, quick and fast booking, check in and check out service, good breakfast. I would recommend and gladly go back.
Very nice surprise (I learned to expect only average from Barcelo :-( Excellent customer service from two different receptionists. Very nice room, comfortable bed, specious bathroom. All clean. Excellent WiFi . Good, quiet A/C. disappointing breakfast. Not enough attention “to COVID”. Few tired cold cuts and cheeses. No plain yogurt (one day), not a piece of vegetable, fresh (never) or cooked (one day). Self Parking (yes, with elevator) 10-12€ . We had a big car. It was a little tight in the elevator but the space itself was bigger than average in Spain. Above average towels for 4 star. The soaps/lotions are with Paraban (bad for you...)
Having stayed at the bright, modern, stylish and quirky Barcelo hotel in Malaga, we were initially a bit disappointed in the Barcelo Occidental Cadiz. It was modern and comfortable but bland and characterless. There was no warm welcome when we signed in and no offer of maps or information about the area. We had booked a junior suite which was comfortable but soul-less. However, other reception staff turned out to be very helpful and when we had some issues with the lighting in the room, these were fixed very promptly. The self service breakfast offered a wide choice of hot and cold options. The hotel is on a road surrounded by shops and apartments, 20 minutes walk from the old town - either a straight walk along the same road or a short diversion down to a seaside promenade walk which was our choice. This was a delightful way to start and end each sightseeing day. In summary, this is a good place to stay if you are happy with the walk into town and is a comfortable, modern hotel but somewhat lacking in character. It offers really good value though - hence I've rated this as 4 rather than 3 on Tripadvisor.…
All is good in this hotel. Most places on walking distance from this hotel. Vegan food could have been better but they prepared it in the kitchen specially for me. I can recommend this for business trips
