If you want a cheap and cheerful place to stay in the Old quarter of Cadiz, then this will be just up your street! Very friendly staff, clean and tidy with 24hour entry. Public parking 2 minutes from the door, however if you're going to stay for afew days I advise to try and find a space in a white... More

Excellent location, clean, quiet, safe, close to Cathedral, restaurants, etc. Less than 10 minute walk to train/bus station (someone tell Google the bus station moved 5+ years ago). Good size bathroom relative to other hostals I've stayed at. TV, good wifi connection. The staff at the front desk was excellent.

Stayed here for two nights at the end of a trip around Spain. Hostal Canalejas is in a brilliant location (around a ten minute walk from the train station and maximum of 15 mins to any of the major sights locations in Cadiz), it's clean and it's safe. Didn't think the value for money was that great - the price... More

This was a great, economic place to stay. The employees were friendly. The rooms were clean, as was the entire hotel. The only drawback was the noise that carried through the corridors when people arrived, departed or talked in the hallways. I suppose the design of the building makes the noise factor impossible to cure. However, considering the value, cleanliness... More

We stayed at the Hostal Canalejas for 5 nights and it could not have been better. We had a double room (two separate beds) which was equipped with a TV and an air conditioning which might be very useful in summer. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and they changed the towels daily. The room had a window which was going... More

I found this hostal while walking the streets of Cadiz in search of lodging. It is located in the heart of the old city in the same area as many other hostals. It is extremely clean and quiet and has just been renovated. All the rooms have a private bathroom that includes a shower. There are both single rooms and... More

Hostal Canalejas is very close to the central plaza and was recommended to me by the tourist kiosk there. It is a 3 minute walk to the cathedral, close to (200 meters)the marina, bus and train stations, but on a quiet pedestrian street, Cristobal Colon. It has off site parking, efficient heating, cable TV and a hot shower. The rooms... More

“Only two of the rooms have an outside window - 101 and 201, see if you can get into either of those rooms. All the other rooms overlook the internal patio - much like a lot of Andalucian places.”
