We were pleasantly surprised to get a room with a kitchen, so that was nice and it was very reasonably priced. The furniture and fittings were all okay, but very clean and more than adequate. The location is superb and easy to get pretty much anywhere. Next time I will have to try the roof terrace that looked like it could be lots of fun. Recommended if you don't want 5-star luxury
Very relaxed and informal accommodation, booked an apartment for a few nights, lovely airy rooms, kitchenette with everything one could need if self catering. Impressive level of cleanliness throughout, bed a little soft and in need of new pillows, lovely vista overlooking Street and attached cafe, very friendly staff based in cafe, would happily return
I can't fault this hostel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left. From checking in and the brilliant information provided by Marcos. This was our first time in Cadiz and even in late September the city was very busy. So the rooftop terrace for relaxing drinks in the evening was very welcome. Particularly when all the nearby bars and restaurants had no tables available. Great location very helpful and friendly staff. Very laid back. Emotive and redolent of the long sea faring history of Cadiz.
I attend the language school which is only a 15 minutes walk from the lodge✅ The bathroom is very spacious and fresh towels are given every other day✅ The bed is extremely comfortable✅ The staff are amazing. As I was traveling alone it can be fairly lonely but the staff made sure I made some friends and if I see the staff around Cádiz they always stop to say hello✅ Would recommend this place to anyone. Recommend going to the Sunday sessions as well, which is like a little party on the roof and a very good place to meet new people. The terrace/roof is amazing, it is often deserted so a siesta in the hammocks is very much on the cards. There are few negatives such as my room didn’t have air con but I had a very decent fan which was more the satisfactory. And I do believe so rooms do have air con so it’s not the end of the world if yours doesn’t. If I were you I wouldn’t spend much time in the hotel I would get out the room as much as possible and explore Cádiz or spend time on the roof sunbathing. …
The team who run Spanish Galleon have a good customer service ethic. They are very friendly and non-formal which makes for a relaxed experience with them. The location is ideal if you’re coming in/out by train. The main older touristy part of Cádiz is quite small so this hotel is an easy walking distance to the whole place. The room (we had one with private bathroom called “Mermaid” was very spacious and included a kitchen. It was nothing fancy but was clean and air conditioned. I’m very happy with our hotel choice in Cádiz and would stay there again.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Spanish Galleon Lodge. The staff were all super friendly. The location is excellent, next to the main square and close to the train station. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach in the old town or to the beaches of the new town. We had breakfast in the cafe downstairs a few times and it was really good but also ventured out to some local cafes for breakfast too. Lots of good places to eat nearby. We had been sent a list of recommendations before check in and we tried out quite a few of them. Staff happy to help with recommendations while we were there too. Our room was as we expected. Relatively basic but comfortable. Good shower with plenty of hot water. No view from our room but we were out and about most of the time so that didn't bother us. The roof terrace is lovely but we didn't make as much use of it was I thought we would.…
Although we only stayed a few nights here we were very impressed with the hospitality as well as the accommodations at a great price. The staff managed to arrange to get us checked in late after our 24hr journey to Cádiz from Seattle. We felt at home!
Wonderful little place! The room was reasonably basic (it is after all a budget option) but clean and comfortable (nice warm duvet and good pillows). Lovely location on a narrow little street on the edge of the old town just a few mins walk from the train station. But two things really make it stand out; the beautiful roof terrace and the fantastic staff. They were so warm, friendly, and helpful (giving tips for places to visit, eat, etc). They make you feel like a guest and not just a customer.
What a gorgeous place. Wish we’d booked to stay longer. A fabulous laid back vibe. The roof top garden is perfect for brunch, evening drinks or just lazing. We’ve got the apartment which is lovely. The location is brilliant and Cadiz itself has exceeded our expectations. Very happy with this choice. We’d definitely come back.
Situated in a historical street near the plaza San Juan we walked here easily from the train station, were greeted in a very friendly way and shown to our apartment with a cold drink in hand on the house. Our apartment was very well equipped, had great air-con and a good outlook on to the busy street below. A real bonus with this place is the communal roof garden with super facilities including a w.c. and a communal kitchen with a large fridge/freezer where guests can keep ice, drinks, food etc so you can chill-out up here without going up and down to the accommodation. The people who run this place are a lovely team who reflect the obvious commitment by the owner and manager to provide a quality experience for all!
