Zum Christophel is in a perfect location, but I think it's really a restaurant that has rooms as an afterthought. Certainly, checking in was an adventure: I opened the door marked "Hotel," to find a desk with no one there, only a sign stating that breakfast was on the floor above. Thinking perhaps that's where the reception desk was, I... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in June,The location is perfect,on edge of town, right beside porta nigra. The rooms were large and well equipped. What sells this hotel,is the staff. They cannot do enough for you.Very attentive and friendly. Breakfast is fine, with a nice selection. We ate one night in the restaurant and it was beautiful. Our son lives in Trier and had not... More

We had a very nice, spacious room looking right out at the Porta Nigra. This is a great starting point to see all the historic sites in Trier dating back to the Roman times. The hotel is a great value and the restaurant was very good too.

The hotel is across the street from the Porta Negra in the city center. In front of Hotel there is the bus station. It is very clean, and the food in the Hotel restaurant is very good. My best recommendation.

Although it looks nice from the outside, i would say that entering the rooms is a disappointment. I am not sure if it was our 'luck' but we got a room with old furniture, altough the bathroom was surely refurbished. The restaurant is good, with traditional german gastronomy.

We spent one night in this location. The Porta Negra was right by our window. The location is superb, the room basic but impeccably clean. This is a very good value. They serve a good breakfast and are very helpful. Wifi is offered for free but was a bit slow at times ( but we were not there to surf... More

The hotel is located in a great spot to be in the heart of Trier...right next to Porta Nigra. Parking is off-site but only a short distance away. The bed was very uncomfortable and the wooden support slats under my husband's side of the bed broke during the night. The "free wi-fi" didn't work in the room. Decent breakfast the... More

This Hotel is a rocks throw away from Porta Nigra. The main street for access to shopping and touristing is just out the main door and to the left . About 1/2 mile from the main train station for luggage draggers. Staff was average and certain ones made you really work on your German communication skills. Others were awesome and... More

We stayed here for 1 night having been transferred from a city hotel which was overbooked . Great location and we were on the 3rd floor and almost able to touch Porta Nigra. The room was a good size and the bathroom was modern and again a good size. There is no on site parking but the hotel has 5... More

We stayed in this hotel for several nights in June 2014 and have very mixed feelings about it, especially after reading so many good reviews. I couldn’t say it was bad stay, but there were some serious “turn off” points. It’s very unlikely that we’ll stay in this hotel again. I’ll start with good things: excellent location - quick walk...
