Stayed here with 11 motorcycle friends & we were all very impressed. The staff were very friendly & helpful, breakfast though modest, had everything we needed, the rooms were clean & the hotel well maintained. As it is set in the woods just outside Trier it was lovely & peaceful & has a large outdoor seating area which is perfect in these Covid-19 days. We have to give a shout out to our waitress, Anna, who was delightful & very attentive to a large group on a busy evening. Only one negative as far as I am concerned...it says a 30 minute walk which it may well be going down the steep hill to Trier but I am guessing its more of a slog on the way back!
Stayed here for one night on an extended drive back from Switzerland to Dunkirk for the ferry. Stayed in Trier before but much further out from city and wanted to be within walking distance this time. We are all in our sixties and the walk into town is an easy downhill 20 minutes NOT 35 ! However the walk back is uphill so be sensible take a cab back for about 10/12 euros. This is a low cost hotel and you get what you pay for, a decent, clean room and a good breakfast - cannot fault it for the money, it is set on a hillside above the river and is very quiet with plenty of free parking.Breakfast is typically continental, cold meats, cheeses, breads etc - what is nice however is the provision of "doggy bags" and you are invited to take food away with you for your journey, picnic etc. We got back to hotel around 10.30 and the bar was closed but there is a separate lounge area with a vending machine that dispenses cheap bottles of beer and wine.…
After driving from the UK we were looking forward to a well earned rest and after finally finding the hotel in the pouring rain we made a horrified discovery. We booked this hotel well in advance, but as we handed our confirmation the guy at reception looked embarrassed and said they were over booked and cancelled our room. He stated they had phoned and emailed, but we checked our phones and emails and we had no such thing. They said they had put us in their sister hotel in town. We wanted this hotel as it had free parking and he promised us that the other hotel did have free parking. This proved wrong also, but that will be in another Tripadvisor review. We were not satisfied on the handling of our booking and had to endure finding the sister hotel, adding more time and stress.
I chose this hotel as it’s outside Trier, but within walking/ taxi distance from the city and also has free parking. Upon checking in I was told that it was overbooked but they put us up in a hotel in the city centre. I received no communication, call or email to tell me this before. I asked if there was free parking and the guy said yes, but this was not correct and I had to pay €12 to park overnight in central Trier. Customer service needs to improve here!
Spent one night here on our journey home. The Sat Nav will get you thereabouts but from then on you'll have to keep an eye open for the hotel signs. Please be aware that the hotel is a good 35 minutes walk from the old town down (and back up again!) a fairly steep hill. The exterior and interior (rooms aside) looks like a cross between a hospital ward and a cell block. However, don't be fooled as the rooms themselves are absolutely great with all you'd need for a much longer stay. Breakfact is included and offers both a cooked and continental offering in a very pleasant dining room. The only problem, was the huge number of flies crawling all over the uncovered food, cuttlery and china. Either close the patio doors or get an untraviolet insect zapper. Free, ample carparking on site.…
