This hotel does not even meet the most basic needs for comfort. Single room is a shoebox with a narrow uncomfortable bed and a bath one can hardly turn around in. Sleep is impossible both due to noisy neighbours inside and the soul club right opposite the hotel and that on a weeknight.

I've been travelling for work quite frequently for the past six years, I have never seen anything like this. It's a very shabby place, the rooms are not even dated anymore, it feels dirty. The hotel is next to a busy street and ear plugs won't help you. The staff doesn't speak English, that could have been a problem. Luckily I travelled with German speaking colleagues. It's this bad that I have decided to skip breakfast and get it somewhere else.

The only advise, never go there! The reception is totally unhelpful, didn't speak english. When we opened the room door, the room wasn't ready to be occupied. The room is not clean and tidy. After complaining they moved us to other hotel that belongs to them. You will be sorry!

It was reasonable when we came in. We though. An aold, shabby hotel near a well served bus- and tram stop. But it was not what we hoped at all. We were suprised with a clogged shower, unclean room, and breakfast that did not seem to come close to what is said on the website. So let's break it down a bit. Positive: -We had beds which were quite clean and were acceptable for the night. Negative: -The reception staf speaks better english than the owner -The room and bathroom were outdated (we had room 21) -The room was not well cleaned. We hd a double room in which a bedframe and a matress lied, and the matress had a yellow stain and a throwaway fork on it. Upon further inspection a night later I found out there lied a slice of bread behind it. Maybe someone as tired of the offered breakfast -Noisy rooms, you can hear anyone in the halls and you can hear traffic outside. -Clogged drain in te shower. -Hair in the drain of the shower -You have to ask for clean towels -Nearly no english information -When you want to check out there is no staff around. 7 mornings we had breakfast, 7 days it was abandoned. When we wanted to check out, we waited for the staff to come and clean the breakfast room. The worker tried to call the owner, which only worked the 7th time. (another guest had tried for over 15m as well). The owner did not speak English very well and wanted to come over. Later the worker told us it was al right and we could go. So there you have it. I hope someone planning on booking here reads this and decides not to. It will be for the better,

Recently stayed in this hotel having made a late booking via work travel company due to event going on in Essen. Very disappointed with the level and standard of hotel given the cost. I requested non smoking and clearly got a smoking room, very noisy due to the trams and traffic. Staff not very helpful. Suggest you avoid like the plague.
