We were heading home towards the Tunnel from Gorlitz and we knew that we wanted to stay overnight somewhere, just not where. We tried the Ibis but their car park was being dug up but then we stumbled upon the Plaza. It was 11pm, but the wife went in (she speaks fluent German) and checked that they had rooms available... Staying here now for the third time within a short period. This because of a project in Duisburg. From Berlin it is about four hours with the train to Duisburg. From there after a good fifteen minutes you will reach the four star hotel Plaza. The staff is very friendly and helpful. After a very warm welcome I received the... More

The experience at this hotel was very stressful. Like other reviews for those having a long-term stay, I was booked into an apartment. None are up to standard (I viewed all units in three separate apartment buildings), most being one star because they have badly stained or torn or very used carpet and furnishings. I selected the 'best' of these... More

Conveniently located, just 20 min drive from Dusseldorf airport. City center, malls and markets nearby. Nice clean rooms, but a little small, if travelling with family. The biggest disappointment was the choice of breakfast options. Need to improve on that front.

Stayed in Plaza for two weeks. I chose this hotel because they advertise having sauna and swimming pool but it was not in service until. Check before booking!!! I lived in third floor, very nice hotel, nice room but breakfast was very poor! The choice of food is not the best, you are lucky if you get some omlet also... More

Have stayed at the Hotel Plaza many times over the past 20 years while in business in Duisburg. Consistently great service with nice relatively-spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast. Once consistently poor aspect of this hotel, though, is the very poor internet access. Currently they offer wifi, but I have consistently found it close to unusable. This, though, is the only negative... More

Stayed here for business. The hotel is nice and the breakfast is very good. It is similar to others in Germany, but the staff here is extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Good choice for business travel

Travelled with work and as part of a group. Originally in the apartments which were not up to scratch. As we were staying in Duisburg for 2 weeks, we had planned to cook for ourselves rather than eat in restaurants every night. This would not have been possible with the kitchen facilities provided - the cutlery and plates were very... More

Originially placed in an apartment- stains on the carpets, a chair which you couldn't have paid me to sit on! trickling hot/ cold shower, slower WiFi than dial up from 2001. Warm fridge, broken microwave, no lightbulbs working in one bathroom, bedroom, lounge, hallway or kitchen. Smoke alarm peeped all night, but this was soon sorted. The staff seemed fully... More

This hotel is located next to a busy street. However, windows are very well insolated so no problem there. The room is nicely decorated but I was a bit disappointed about the cleanliness. Towels and sheets of the bed had yellow and black stains - not sure what it was. Bed very comfortable though. Staff at reception is professional and... More
