We booked for 4 nights after reading the mostly excellent reviews here. However, while the hotel was ok, we certainly couldn't give it an excellent rating. The staff on reception were not at all friendly, they told you what you needed to know, and nothing more. The room was nice enough and was certainly clean but it didn't have tea/coffee...

Had the pleasure of staying in this lovely hotel in July. The hotel is conveniently located only a few hundred yards from the Hauptbahnhof and about 15 minutes walk from the Altstadt. There are effectively two separate hotels (Sir Astor & Lady Astor), which are on opposite sides of the Kurfurstenstrasse. When you arrive you will told which hotel you...

The room we stayed in overlooked the garden and it was simply stunning. Loved the decor - it definitely had the 'wow' factor and was very classy complete with armchairs, desk and table and large en suite. I would say it is very much a boutique hotel and it was spotlessly clean. There was even little complimentary 'treats' which was...

Agree with recent reviews: attractive decor which is different for each room; excellent breakfast including fresh cooked scrambled egg served by friendly staff; convenient for station. Room a good size for a city hotel. We were only there one night so did not use garden but it looked sheltered and peaceful. Walk to river and sights about 20 min through...

We chose this hotel for our brief and unexpected stay in Düsseldorf based on reviews here and were not disappointed . The decor is original, everything is spotlessly clean, the breakfast room lovely , with great choice, and as for the manager - what a wonderful man, so kind and helpful. I am not surprised it was full! Going back...

First time staying here & very impressed with the quality of the rooms & the service. Stayed in a business single room which whilst small, was very tastefully decorated & the bed was good, it also had an air conditioner (not all rooms have). The location was very good just within 5 mins from the main train station with good...

Had an absolutely wonderful stay! We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The decor in the rooms were beautiful and it was incredibly comfortable and clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and the breakfast in the morning was great, with a variety options and a different hot breakfast option everyday. There was also a lovely garden outside the dining area...

We recently stayed in the Sir Astor for two nights on a trip across from Belgium. Upon arrival the personal touches were very noticeable - sweets at check-in, cake in the room, a note from the staff welcoming us to the hotel. The rooms themselves are very stylish and unique, and although the bathrooms are small they're perfectly functioning. The...

I stayed in the Lady hotel while my friend stayed in the Sir hotel. My room was decorated in a Coco Chanel theme and was gorgeous. It was a quaint, clean room and the service was fantastic. My only complaint would be that there was no lift and it was a bit of a mission carrying my luggage down the...
