This is such a gem. A beautifully restored 100 year old residence. The rooms are delightful. Amazing facilities, lovely decor, spotlessly clean. I can’t say enough good things about it! The staff are very helpful and kind. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a boutique hotel and not a big chain. Charming and comfortable in every way. And very good value for money too. We absolutely loved staying at this beautifully decorated, boutique hotel in Düsseldorf. The room we stayed in (28, which was a Deluxe room) was very well kept, and even had a four poster bed ! One top tip - the hotel has a deal with the tram company in Düsseldorf and will give you a free tram pass for the duration of your visit in the city. You can then hop on and off any tram for free. We weren’t aware when we booked, and we found it very helpful. Only some hotels in Düsseldorf offer this. The hotel is also conveniently located. 10mins by tram to the old town centre and 15 minutes by tram to the airport. The stop to the airport is only a few stops from the hotel, where you connect. Overall a great place to stay and highly recommended.
6 of us (3 couples) visited here for 3 nights and I must say the hotel was superb ... the decor is great , the location is great , the rooms are great, the feel and ambience is great but the staff are absolutely fantastic. Katriana and Anna will look after you fantastically well , nothing is too much trouble. To put this simply .... there’s nothing not to like .... just great
Great place to stay when visiting the area. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were given free public transport passes when we were not expecting which were a total bonus. The tram stop is 5 mins walk and the main trainline to the airport just two stops down. We also took the train to Cologne fro the day which was a doddle. It was cold and grey whilst we were their but the hotel was lovely and warm with a very comfortable room, superb bed and modern clean bathroom with a very good hot shower. If I had to nit pick....could do with some English TV and if you are a breakfast monster (I'm not) there might not be enough choice for you. Also there was no kettle in the room.
We were lucky enough to get a reservation a few days before we arrived in Düsseldorf since our original plans of staying with family fell through. I absolutely loved this hotel. Very unique and was very cool staying in a converted Victorian era house. There is no elevator and our room was one floor down. When we checked in, we were escorted to our room and the girl offered to help me with my luggage but I figured if I packed it, I need to carry it. As others have said, public transport ticket is included with the stay which is a great bonus. Very easy to get to the city center by tram as well as to other locations. Also very easy to get from the airport to the hotel and that is the only ticket you will need to buy during your stay at the hotel. Take the S11 from the airport 4 stops to Wehrhahn station and then transfer to the tram (U72 or U73) and go 2 stops to the Lindemannstraße stop and the hotel is a short walk from the stop. We paid for the breakfast which was well worth it and so convenient rather than heading out each morning to find a bite to eat. The staff was so friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Room was very quiet as well. WiFi was also very good. We also ate at Askitis, a Greek restaurant, which was a short walk from the hotel and really good. Also good is Ristorante La Luce Due and the hotel will give you a card worth 10% off your meal when they make a reservation for you (definitely make a reservation). Next time I am in Düsseldorf, I will certainly stay here again.…
This hotel is really a unique experience. We felt like we were visiting aristocratic relatives (not that we have any). The atmosphere feels vaguely British, from the Victorian era. Actually the house was built around the turn of the century but became a hotel shortly afterward. Everything is done up to a high standard with every modern convenience. Public transport tickets are included, and the system is very fast and easy to use in Düsseldorf. Our room and bathroom were very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is lovely with many choices. It is served in a very pretty room overlooking the garden. All the staff members we met were friendly and very helpful. We’d love to visit again!
This is a great hotel if you're looking for a quiet oasis. An old "Villa" smartly refurbished for the past 10 years. Very clean and modern rooms, albeit a bit on the small size. The hotel is quiet, far away from any busy streets. Excellent sleep quality. Friendly and welcoming staff. A true pleasure to interact with the personnel, both at check-in and at breakfast. You can tell that they are proud to work here. There is no elevator, so you have to walk up the fantastic staircase. Not a big deal. We will come back for sure.
Very special atmosphere. Beautiful garden and hotel interior (if you like classy). Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet for such a small hotel with just a handful of rooms (do not expect the variety from a 200-room hotel or a cook who prepares your personal omelette). All in all a very enjoyable and not too expensive stay for a business trip.
Hotel Villa Achenbach is beautifully decorated in typical English style. It has classic ambience with modern facilities. Tastefully decorated , beautifully furnished and well maintained hotel. It has lovely , spacious & immaculately clean rooms. Prestige Deluxe room has huge & comfortable bed. Eating breakfast is so relaxing when you are sitting in a very charming breakfast room. Staff are polite & accomodating. Located in a quiet street and near the tram stop so it's about 10 minutes by tram going to the center. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !
We had been in this hotel on our previous visit to Düsseldorf two years ago. Our memories of that stay were so good that it was our obvious choice for this year. The hotel is more like a large, gracious house, built around 1900, I would guess, with beautiful dark wood panelling and handsome furniture from that period. Everything is spotless. The lovely back garden is beautifully kept. Clearly it is important to the staff and management that every little detail is perfect. Breakfasts were excellent and the buffet was laid out with artistry so that it looked as good as it tasted. The staff were so friendly, pleasant and helpful that they made our stay a real pleasure. Bedroom and en suite were spacious. Very, very highly recommended. We look forward to returning to Villa Achenbach on our next visit to Achenbach.…
