Overall disappointing visit. First impression walking in was a flash back to the boys bathroom back in high school.. Last impression they left us was a 9 euro surcharge on the bill for ‘energy’. As if the room rates weren’t already inflated enough. This hotel is in real need of some TLC. The building is old and the owner needs to realize that modernization of the rooms and the setup is past due.
Very nice hotel and a very friendly service team, thanks to the front desk, bar and cleaning team, I had a great experience. It's great to spend an evening with friends in the lobby or bar of such a beautiful hotel
Since we only to stay in Köln for a night, we decided to use our HH rewards points for stay at this unique hotel. We booked a standard room which was located on the 8th floor. The building itself is very unique, love the lobby area with all the original walls, a very good place to play hide and seek if you come with the smaller one ;) A quick check-in since we have actually checked ourselves in online. The elevators, to the contrary are working at another speed, way too slow. Room has peculiar shape (originated from the round shape of the building). Although it is more to the smaller size, we were ok with it. Bathroom is very small though; small space, small vanity area next to the sink but it has a good shower. Love the view from the room, too bad we couldn’t go out. Bed is comfy but the cotton bedsheet felt very coarse and rough. Other room amenities: tea and coffee maker, ironing board and iron, 2 bottles of water, hairdryer, bathroom Amenities etc. Chargeable parking is available under the hotel. Places of interests are within walking distance. One thing I would…
This hotel was originally a water tower before converting it into a luxury hotel. Previous guests include the Rolling Stones. Everything was perfect. We were welcomed back to the hotel with a handwritten note in our room addressed to the family. Our teenage son was a last minute addition. Beddings were quickly organized. Their parking garage is super convenient. All breakfast offerings were high quality and delicious.
We stayed for 2 nights here at 9th floor. The location is perfect for those who don't mind a short talk (5-10 mins) to just about everywhere, old town, river and few museums. There are a lot of great coffee shops and local diners around worth visit. The room is spacious and comfortable with just enough decor to draw your attention to the outside view and appreciate the architecture itself. The hotel itself is a historical building and we stayed at 9th floor with the best view ever to Cologne city, just 2 floors down by the rooftop bar which you must visit. Great cocktails and good retro chic vibe. The concierge is also some of the most friendly and professional hospitality experience we had in western Europe, knowledgeable about the city, activities and nearby suburb. I would definitely recommend to anyone who visits Cologne!…
What a great couple of days, amazing room in a fabulous building, so nice to stay somewhere with such unique character The artwork in the suite was fantastic and made the room feel warm and special Loved the bar on the roof and the had a gray time relaxing All the staff were friendly, attentive and very professional, will definitely be coming back
- Hotel smelled like a sewage (confirmed by staff at desk that issues with neighbouring sewage system exists). It was appalling, especially in the upper floors. - On a Sunday evening, no bar or restaurant is open (this is a location booked due to the unique architectural style - it is a place to celebrate (we celebrated with family our 30th wedding anniversary - one expects that the bar is attended in the evening, especially on Sunday - this is not the US. - Very poor selection of sparkling wine (Gelderman) - Lighting concept is so dark, that older people can not see (83 year old mother had to be directed in her room by taking her arm). Note: ca 40% of all people older than 70 have a progressive eyecondition that leads to getting nearly blind in darker areas - One of the three rooms we booked was at about 14 degrees Celsius when we entered first day - On Monday, cleaning Personal had cable of vacuum cleaner drawn across the entrance of the breakfast room, had to help elderly person to not fall - In breakfast room, one coffee machine was removed from the day before for 60 (!) guests, constant cueing instead of enjoying breakfast - Only person picking up at reception Staff could not speak German on Sunday evening…
Memorable stay in an unique venue. Lovely staff, nice lounge areas downstairs. Roof worth a visit. Gym lacks a view or working tvs but well equipped with modern kit.Breakfast good and unhurried with good choice and service. 15 min walk from station, well situated to walk around Cologne.5 mins from Neumarket.Better value if you are a Hilton member and you can check in via their App.
Fabulous building 1km from centre or underground station few metres away. Stunning rooms, sofa and table could be swapped around. Breakfast delicious, no complaints - always friendly, helpful staff. Complimentary mini bar on arrival is lovely touch, would be nice to have option to restock for visitors there more than 1 night.
Stayed here 5 nights in November for the Christmas markets. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite, so off to a good start. We loved the unique design of the hotel - Curio Collection are all so charming. Bed was comfortable, Bathroom was a little small, but shower was excellent. We loved the location in a little quieter area. It's only 1 metro stop from lots of the action and the station is only a 2 minute walk.
