I am always wary of 8 bedroom hotels - whether in Europe or anywhere. They tend to be too owner orientated and I feel that taste is being forced onto me. BUT not here. This is a true gem. Just 5 minutes walk from the main rail station (exceptional map given by hotel with photo's of street scenes, etc to...

After our stay last year my husband and I already booked this year's stay. Now again, after our visit this year we booked next year's stay! We really like this little hotel. It is modern and beautiful. Many hotels are small and have small rooms in Europe but Stern am Rathaus shows how beautiful AND functional a room can be....

Great small (8 rooms) hotel right in the center of Cologne. Easy walk from train station. Convenient to all sites and shopping, river cruise dock, etc. Fabulous staff, great breakfast. Board games in the room! We couldn't have been happier. Would definitely go back. Book early, they fill up fast.

The hotel was extremely nice. The room was modern and the staff were more than happy to accommodate all of our needs. The daily breakfast was a great selection and the staff offer you cooked eggs of your choosing very morning. The location can't be beaten, only a two minute walk to the shopping strip, Dom or many restaurants. Great...

My wife and I chose this hotel in view of the excellent reviews. We can agree with all the earlier positive comments and in particular the friendly staff, quality of rooms and superb breakfasts and would recommend it .However our stay unfortunately coincided with the "Kolner Lichter" or Cologne Lights involving a firework display, loud music and general disturbance throughout the...

This hotel is right next to the Renaissance era built city hall and if you turn left you go down steps to Alt Markt, an area of shops, restaurants and outdoor beer places and will lead you to the Rhine river bank with its own attractions. If you turn right at city hall you come to an open area which...

This hotel is small - it has only 8 rooms. And the management/ staff help you feel almost like family. After the booking you receive a friendly and personal letter. If you arrive after business hours, the key is waiting for you on a small table just behind the entrance door. If you are thirsty, you take a bottle of...

We stayed in the 2 level suite on the top floor. The room was large and had a mini fridge for us to keep some drinks cold. No elevator but staff was wonderful and took care of the bags. Great breakfast and staff. Perfect location for anyone spending time in old town.

We chose the Stern am Rathaus because of the rankings on Trip Advisor and it did not disappoint. Very convenient location - close to the Dom, restaurants and shopping. Yes it is a small hotel with only 8 rooms, but the staff make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Michael greeted us with a cool mint drink that I must get...

Located only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof), Stern am Rathaus was a great find. While rather small, the included breakfast was superb, the personal attention was wonderful, and the room was spotless. Trendy bathroom and in-room free wifi only complemented our short stay. Just slightly away from the most touristy areas (again, only...
