The check-in is carried out in the charming, cosy restaurant area, the setting handy for the ccity centre, not least Bochum's marvellous new concert-hall. But access to the rooms is via a dingy storage-area, each door needing painfully to be unlocked with an old-fashioned key, and then you find there is no lift. Our room was up four flights totally... Dear Guest, I thank you for your honest words about your stay with us and I am also very unhappy to hear that we failed to manage your expectations. Our design is certainly special and reflects the urban culture of Bochum. But our aim is that guests can feel home as well. Your feedback is very important to us to... More

I stay in the Tucholsky every time I visit Bochum for work. Always immaculately clean, always comfortable and the staff are always super-efficient and friendly. Go for the rooms over the big restaurant to the rear of the hotel, as there is no elevator serving the rooms at the front and the rooms there are smaller and more basic. As... More

Stayed twice on business and a great location for the bars and restaurants with direct access to The Bermuda3eck (Bermude-Triangle), the trendy district with about 75 Bars, Restaurants, Cafes and Bistros. My first stay was a basic small room at the front (roadside). No lift and on the 3rd floor. Very basic room but everything you need (good shower) and... More

Tiny hotel with tiny rooms, the reception is part of the restaurant bar, you need watch out for it! Good location, in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle area, all restaurants and entertainment are close by. Could be a little bit noisy time by time. No elevator to the 4th floor, had some difficulty to get an iron to do... More

Hotel is located in the liveliest part of town so great for visiting the lively bars and good restaurants. However, that's where the trouble starts! The Hotel is situated above a couple of lively bars (as well as it's own restaurant) and one of the bars had loud music until 6am. Our room was directly above. My kids somehow slept... More

I visited this hotel many times in the last 7 years. About 1-2 times a year. It is a very nice hotel in the middle of Bochum. The rooms are very delightful decorated and the restaurant/cafe on the street level is excellent. I especially love the breakfast. You can order several different kind of breakfast, English, American, German etc. It's... More

The hotel is well located. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs and it seems to be very popular since it was always crowded. My room was very large and spacious. Generally a great place to stay. Right behind the hotel is a street with plenty of bars, shops etc.

We spent only one night in the hotel. It is very nice and modern. It is an "art" hotel so decoration was cozy. It was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only problem was that the room was super-hot during the night (summer period), and there was no AC. We had to open the window - facing the... More

For some reason Bochum hotels are all on the expensive side. Odd really as the town's charm is not immediately perceptible. Tucholsky tries to mark itself out as cool, contemporary and designer but quite frankly I found it rather spartan and not very comfortable. And expensive. I should probably should have been wowed by the two contemporary paintings on the... More

Don't stay here if you're sensitive to "entertainment noise breakout". As previous reviewers have noted, this hotel is located in the so-called Bermuda Triangle - Bochum's party zone - where the street to the rear is lined with bars, nightclubs, etc, all with outdoor tables. I had the misfortune to be allocated Room 301 at the front, which seemed fine... More
