Wonderful remodeling of 14th century buildings, now converted to a boutique hotel. Attentive staff, well appointed rooms (albeit small), and a decent restaurant. Great location in the well-preserved district of this Hanseatic Baltic town. Ceilings are low!

A wonderful hotel incorporating several old buildings (14th century) converted to rooms and restaurant. The old beams, wood and brick give this place a wonderful old world feel. Staff were wonderful and helpful. Only a few minutes walk from the piers, city center and several wonderful restaurants. The hotel restaurant has a fabulous breakfast and their venison and schnitzel are...

Stralsund a beatiful, beatiful town. Have seen many German towns but this was one of the best. Lot's and lot's of wonderful houses , buildings and churches. MUST SEE! The Island of¨Rügen beatiful and interesting, with miles of White beaches and blue water just wonderful. The Hotel Scheelehof an outstanding Place to stay. Friendly Personnel, the food excellent including breakfast...

Our biggest mistake was in booking only two nights at the Scheelehof. This is a really individual hotel fitted into three beautiful historic buildings. The welcome felt genuine rather than scripted. We only used the beautifully designed restaurant for breakfast, but would make a point of using it in the evening on another occasion. We did use the hotel's very...

Very well presented hotel in converted warehouses dating back to 1380. Most staff speak English and all are very helpful. Restaurant very good in fascinating room. Rooms away from the front road will be best due to the noise of occasional cars on the cobbles - however it's still a quiet location. Easy access to the old town and harbour

This hotel is extremely charming, spread out over 5 buildings, the oldest dating back to the 13th century but very nicely redecorated. Our room was on the 5th floor (there is an elevator) in the oldest building facing the street and had oak beams and all. Clean, comfortable rooms. Large bathroom, great shower. The only drawback with this hotel, although...

What a lovely property! Everything about this place is first rate. The bedding is the best I've ever experienced in a hotel. It's very quiet at night, no noise from other rooms. Bathrooms are lovely, too. My only very minor complaint is that, for a place with its own coffee roasting facility, the morning coffee was not that good. But...

Upscale, cosy hotel with spa and gourmet restaurant (closed during our visit). Spa was free with several saunas, and mixed, which I appreciate since my wife can then also join. Only negative was wifi - our first room had such weak signal we had to change room.

If you make a journey to Stralsund you can learn about the history of the Hanseatic League, so manifest in its brick buildings. - And about Chemistry: Citizen C.W. Scheele, a Swedish pharmacist born there, discovered Oxygen just about when USA was founded. Apparently, he did so shortly before J. Priestley. The latter published first, so his was the official...

Very carefully renovated hotel in the old heart of the town. Well worth a weekend visit. Friendly staff, not always up to international standards, but willing.... Interesting rooms, not cheap, but unique. Good food, especially the breakfast buffet. For a weekend trip: Take a one day boat tour to the small island of Hiddensee (oneway: 2 hours). Back in Stralsund:...
