among the Greifswald sleeping places the one a bit of the City but with lots of calm. It´s a complaex of several Buildings grouped around an Atrium. Excellent breakfast and economic mini bar. Rooms are cleaned daily. TV is old and has tiny Screen, better bring on Notebook. WIFI coverage is reasonable.

Stayed here over a weekend with friends. A nice hotel with very comfortable and clean rooms. The staff were very warm and welcoming, and helped to arrange taxis for our large group when needed. The hotel is located maybe a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre. A continental Breakfast was included in the stay. There is also a bar and bowling alley in the hotel that is open late!

Very different from USA Hotels. It's more like a hostel. Staff are very nice and speak decent English. Rooms are cleaned everyday unless you request not to. When I was there they were hosting quite a few refugees who were interesting to talk to. The bowling ally upstairs is fun and cheap. It's not very centrally located, but it's only a 10 minute bike ride from downtown. I highly recommend this hotel for larger groups.

This hotel is a large complex with six separate buildings. It serves the University city of Greifswald for conference accommodations and visiting students and academics as well as being available for tourists, group reunions, family gatherings, etc. It is located somewhat out of city centre, so is appropriate for people travelling by car. I can't say what kind of public transport is available. The room was spacious, clean and there was lots of cupboard space. Normally, the bathroom would be shared with an adjoining room, but we had no-one beside us so it wasn't an issue. It has a bit of an institutional feel to it, but if what you are looking for is a good night's sleep, a generous breakfast and to get on your way, this is a fully satisfactory spot to stay. There is a large dining room and the food and the service is good, both evening and breakfast. I presume lunch is also served. The price was great for economical travel. We had to park the car on the next-door property, but it was easily accessible.

Nice, clean, simple hotel. However, very disappointed with some basic features missing. The front desk personnel barely spoke English making communication very difficult. No WIFI, really??? In Germany in 2014?? I was there for a research conference and I cannot express how frustrated I was by not being able to communicate with my lab in the evenings. Lastly, my walk to the conference site at the university hospital, more or less downtown, was a good 45-50 min walk. I guess it is ok if you have a car.

I was travelling with my family and a dog (golden retriever), so we experienced difficulties with finding a place to stay. However in the VCH Hotel it wasn't any problem. The building is a modern object. I like it's architecture: there are separate segments of 'living towers' joined together by an internal patio. The rooms have bathrooms, which are really clean. I also liked a breakfast we were given. The only disadvantage is location of the hotel. It's far from the town centre, in some kind of suburb, industrial area. Maybe for longer stay it's not the best option, but for a base for car trips it's excellent.

This is a nice place to stay when touring sights on Rugen and Peenemunde (among others the V1 and V 2 rocket center). Everything reached in just a little more than an hour. The hotel had a good and competent reception. Both before arriving and during the stay. The rooms are large with plenty of space to pack your things away. We found the cleaning quick and efficient. The rooms are made for two separate beds and if they are put toghether one of you will miss the bed light. The rooms have large balconys. The desk shows some wear and you will find the chairs like a student dorm type. The beds were fine. You have a washing facility you can use at a low cost. We booked a family room and got two large rooms with a privat hall joining them together. In the hall you will find the bathroom including a shower and toilet. You could hear other people in their rooms so sound proof it is not. Traffic noice is not a problem. The rooms lack AC but we were ok during our stay. The breakfast was fine, a buffet with hot and cold picks. We tried the resturant a few times and was not disappointed. The staff was polite and friendly. They have a special dish every night at a very good price, the schnitzel for 7 Euros was very good. Close by you have a Lidel making it possible to fix picknics at a very good price. There is also a Chinese resturant with a very good buffet just beside the Lidel.
