We stayed at the Ferry Inn for two nights recently, while driving the Scottish 500 circuit. Scrabster is a fishing/ferry port, also visited by cruise ships, with passengers wishing to visit the nearby Castle of May, Scottish home of the Queen Mother. The Port is relatively small, with few facilities. Ferry Inn is situated on the quayside and most rooms...

We stayed in a spacious room overlooking the harbour for 1 night. The staff were friendly & the room had everything we needed. There is a good breakfast menu so if you want a change from a full Scottish you can have something else such as smoked salmon & scrambled eggs. I had the poached eggs & smoked haddock which...

Ferry Inn is a great location right on the busy port of Scrabster overlooking the activity of the fishing fleet. The room... tired looking but certainly big enough with an ensuite which could do with a ventilation fan. The ongoing issue in Scotland of poor bed quality needs to be addressed. You are there primarily to get a sound and...

We stayed at the Ferry Inn overnight before taking the early morning ferry to Orkney. Outwardly the FI doesn't look particularly inviting, but the room was comfortable and clean and despite overlooking the busy harbour fairly quiet too. We would definitely stay there again en route to Orkney. The bar is very much a locals' pub, but the staff are...

2 ladies from NZ and Australia stayed at the Ferry Inn overlooking the port harbour. Excellent facilities. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Nice friendly staff although the young woman didn't know whether the room was a front or back room. Good wifi and free parking on the road. The Restaurant was up the stairs next door. Food choice was excellent and...

(food only review) The Ferry Inn next to the Scrabster ferry terminal definitely looks a bit dated, however the food served is of good quality and quantity yielding a fair deal. The food on the menu definitely is pub food but there's some surprising burgers on the menu that differ from the standard burgers you can get at many places.

We stayed here the night before catching the ferry to Stromness. We found the room to be clean and comfortable with views of the harbour. The breakfast was very good and excellent value. The ferry was two minutes away.

Best place to eat in Scrabster with very good food at very reasonable prices. If its a hot sunny day (yes the Highlands do have them!) get a seat away from the large windows or else you'll also be fried !!

The Ferry Inn was decent for one night's stay and had fairly large sized rooms with kettle, tea and coffee. The nearby pub and restaurant are also pleasant and the breakfast was terrific. The view of the harbor and boats makes for a terrific and interesting view. The decor is a bit dated, but it kind of adds to the...

We stayed here simply for convenience as we wanted to catch the first ferry to Orkney. I wasn't sure what to expect from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised once we reached the room. It was on the small size but perfect for just one night. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the...
