Detailed Reviews
We decided to visit the Spa Hotel for an after Christmas treat and because they offered an attractive deal. The Rosenpark is not too far away so we avoided a long autobahn journey. We enjoyed the Spa facilities that were well run and although busy but never too crowded, we always found somewhere to sit and rest. The breakfast was included and I did joke before we arrived that for the price we should be offered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and we were. I particularly enjoyed the large selection of loose tea on offer, the first time I have ever experienced this in a Hotel. I am now considering returning to loose tea again.

The hotel is quite near to the city centrum and to all the interesting sites of this lovely little town.
All destinations in this city are reachable with short walks, starting from this hotel, so that you do not need to use the car.
Its location is close to the Lahn river and is really quiet. Rooms are large and comfortable.
The staff are very friendly and professional.
The only drawback is the paid parking, quite unusual in my thirty years of experience as a traveler in Europe.
Moreover, it is controlled with an automatic bar and tickets with no free parking for the first 15 minutes, as in many automatic car parks, but instead with an immediate payment for the whole hour, also if You just shortly enter to check-out the hotel and to load Your luggage.
I'm not saying this because of the money, in fact I’m mostly doing business trips, where the company pays everything. I say this, because this treatment does not make you feel like a guest, but more like a customer to be exploited as much as possible.
I would certainly not visit a hotel like this as a private individual.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and we found our stay too short. Delicious breakfast, nice room and helpful staff. The staff members serving breakfast were very friendly to our children. Everyone was polite and offered great service. Our room was modern and had a fully equipped kitchen, modern furniture and consumption from the mini bar was for free (limited range of drinks). There is also a spa with sauna, steam bath and a very nice pool. Highly recommended!

The big modern hotel consists quite a lot of different houses/buildings and it is 20 - 25 minutes walk to the historical centre.
We stayed for a night in the superior room with a balcony. It is clean, spacious, quiet and facing the court. The bed and pillows are nice and comfortable and pillows. The furniture is modern, stylish and classy.
The breakfast room is very welcoming and staff are very attentive. Unfortunately there are 5 guests not wearing the masks properly and the staff might be scared to confront them. There are not enough space for all guests in the breakfast room and some of them are sitting on the hallway or they prefer not to sit inside the room.
All in all, I think it is a very nice hotel though my husband said he didn't feel like staying in the hotel as there are a lot of separate buildings and some are overlooking each other. It does make you feel like staying in a high class residential area.

We booked this hotel for a 1 night stop over on our journey south. We were absolutely blown away by the place!
The room was huge, with a separate walk in wardrobe and full length mirror. We had our dog with us and were given a ground floor room with direct access to nice paths on which to walk our dog, which we really appreciated.
Our son was made to feel so special, two kind ladies set him up a beautiful play tent with games and books and bought him a treat with snacks on.
We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both were delicious and of a very high quality! We will definitely return! Thanks to the great staff for making the start of our holiday so perfect.

We had a great time at the Vila Vita Rosenpark.
We loved the very nice interior design, spotless cleanliness, the good location very close to central station and just a short walk to the Old Town, the beautiful spa with special features such as a snow cabin and salt chamber and the amazing breakfast buffet. And what shines even more than all these features are the generally very friendly staff, with a special mention to Mrs. Silke Wank and her colleague Michael for their smiley cheerful service during our breakfasts, which gave us positive energy and put us into good mood right from the start of the day. We highly appreciated their genuine friendliness and interest in their guests' well-being.
Thank you very much and we hope to be back one day.

The hotel is beautifully located and the rooms are nicely and comfortably furnished. Towels, bathrobes, shampoo and cosmetics are provided. There are even some free drinks in the fridge. Our room was beautifully located by the water and the outdoor facilities were well maintained. We found extra costs such as parking very expensive. €27 per day. At the weekend it was a whopping €81. According to the hotel, this is a typical local rate. In the parking garage 100m around the corner we paid €22 instead of €81 for the whole weekend. The wellness area is nice, could really use more loungers instead of chairs. Breakfast at €28 per person is not exactly cheap but adequate. We went to the cafés around anyway, where you can get a seat without any problems. We were treated in a friendly manner almost everywhere. Receptionist V. was very unfriendly and bitchy, however. Which was completely incomprehensible to us because we had only asked a simple question. A shame.

The hotel is very nice. Very large room with an extra dressing room, very impressive. The bed was very comfortable. Free water every day.
The breakfast was very good, not a huge selection, but it was always refilled and you could always find something. There was also prosecco. The restaurant in the evening was OK, didn't blow us away. The risotto we ordered, for example, had nothing to do with risotto, more like risi bisi without peas :-D.
And in the afternoon, unfortunately, there were only waffles, we would have liked a selection of cakes.
Unfortunately we can't give it full marks, but there were a few things that bothered us:
- the room was very warm, we had to turn on the air conditioning
- the room cleaning only started after 2 p.m., which we thought was too late
- one day at 12 noon the dishes/food from the previous evening were still in the hallway in front of two rooms - not a pretty sight
- one day the minibar wasn't refilled, only when we asked
- on the day of departure the room card was deactivated before checkout time, so after breakfast we had to go to reception to get back to our room.
Otherwise we liked it and would stay here again.

I stay at the Vila Vita Rosenpark every September when I go to visit family - I am heading out in a few days for my 5th weeklong stay. Marburg is unique to have such a phenomenal hotel and facilities - it is really an outstanding property. We have always loved the spotless and comfortable rooms - we stay in an Apartment and it is very spacious. The food is great, the service is professional and responsive. The best Doner sandwich I have ever had is a block away, as are stores and restaurants. It is a short walk to the main town which we do every day.
I can't recommend Rosenpark highly enough and am looking forward to my upcoming visit.

I stayed at the hotel in January 2024 with colleagues.
The main restaurant was closed, and the second restaurant has a very limited menu. After 3 evenings with no changes to the menu, we had exhausted nearly every choice on the menu. Also the restaurant service was poor. We had to wait longer for service than was reasonable, especially when we could see other cutomers getting served faster than us. Clearly some customers are more favoured than others.
The final straw came at check-out. I had to leave Marburg earlier than originally planned, cancelling one night. The hotel stiffed me for the cost of the one cancelled night. I did tell them that I expect to visit Marburg several times through 2024, and that they were creating an unhappy customer. It didn't matter, they still insisted on it.
I will avoid this hotel as much as possible on future visits to Marburg, and I advise all other travellers to do the same.

Responded Jan 22, 2024
Dear thurlochdrmro, thank you for sharing your experience during your stay in January 2024. We genuinely regret that your visit did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. We understand your disappointment with the closure of our main restaurant due to floorboard maintenance. To offer our house guests an alternative we expanded the opening days of our second restaurant. Since it is a theme restaurant specialized in cuisine of the alpine region it has a limited menu. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Your feedback regarding the restaurant service is also concerning, and we assure you that we will look into the matter and improve the service speed. Regarding the check-out situation, we want to clarify that, according to our booking conditions, a 90% fee is applied for cancellations made under certain circumstances. It's important to note that such conditions are communicated to guests through online portals, and we made sure our staff informed you about this policy during your stay. We hope you understand the necessity of these policies to manage reserved resources and services. We assure you that we have done our best to accommodate your needs during your stay. We value your feedback and take it seriously as we continuously work towards improving our services. While we regret any inconvenience, we genuinely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a more satisfying experience in the future. Your Hotel Rosenpark Team – VILA VITA Marburg
