We booked this hotel for a one-night stay en route to Bavaria from the North of Germany. It is located on a busy road leading to the famous 'Wilhelmshoehe' Park and Monument and the fact that we could park just outside the hotel on a parking metre basis was a real bonus. We were greeted by a very friendly and clean-cut young man who showed us to our room and helped us in our desire to take one of the impressive trams into the city centre. The room was on the small/dark side, but it had a welcome bath/shower attached and two separate beds (as reserved) Despite the proximity to a main thoroughfare and city, it was extremely quiet and the beds were really comfortable. The breakfast room was a revelation--a large ballroom appeared to have been converted into an impressive restaurant with chandeliers and parkland views. The lady in charge looked after us exceptionally well:she was a character for whom nothing was too much trouble.... On leaving the hotel, the young female receptionist was really friendly and helpful and directed us to other sights worth seeing in and around Kassel.…
Stayed here in our first and most probably only visit to Kassel. Neat, clean hotel with a good breakfast. Would have liked a street facing room. Staff super friendly and helpful. Lots of local travelers with few tourists. Found that all notices and instructions are only in German. The young people will speak English, the older ones persist in German. We got by anyway.
If you are on business trip in Kassel - that is a best choice. The price is very adequate - and the managing family really makes that stay valuable. We recommend also the Thai Restaurant in the cellar - fresh seafood and duck are delicious.
my check in was late, because I had just arrived to Kassel. the receptionist was extremely nice and thoughtful and offered help in many ways possible. the room was higher than average, I had one problem which was the warm atmosphere, but I think it's a problem in all Germany in the warm season( no AC almost everywhere)The breakfast was good and the garden was beautiful and peaceful! highly recommended.
We were looking for a family friendly hotel near city centre so we could visit Kassel Xmas market on our way to Poland. The hotel was great. Our family room was spacious and perfect for family of four. The room was warm and clean. It was also very quiet despite facing the busy road. The bath was just what we needed after 12 hours drive. The staff was very polite and friendly. Especially the blonde Polish lady serving breakfast. She was amazing. Nothing was ever a problem, they were so helpful! Breakfast was delicious with a lots of hot and cold choices. We arrived really late and had ordered food from a restaurant next door which we were allowed to eat in our room and were given extra plates and cutlery. The hotel is 10 min walk from the city centre and there is secure car park underground or on street parking outside. The decor may be a bit dated but it didn't affect our stay at all. Highly recommended! …
