Staying at Renthof for the 2:d time. It’s a really beautiful place. Old and nice renovated in good taste! Now it’s Covid so nothing is on top. Breakfast in a paper bag in the room. No restaurant, no bar only reception open. We had the luck to have a young girl who helped us in the evening when there none - but us!

Beautiful property. Clean hotel and room. Parking available in a garage behind the hotel, which of course is not free. My particular room overlooked the hotel courtyard, where breakfast is served and where their restaurant is located. This made my stay somewhat less pleasant, as to have the windows open (or even just the curtains) you invite people in the courtyard to see you as you walk around in your room, so be careful what you wear, if anything! Additionally, even though the restaurant closes at 10PM, the Staff apparently likes to hang out and smoke in the courtyard area, which was awful because the smoke then drifted into my room (I had to have the windows open because there is no AC and it was hot in the middle of August) and their noise interrupted my sleep in a room that's otherwise quiet!!! The Staff did provide a fan upon request, which did help against the heat. Location of the hotel is good - short distance walk to the city center and just minutes to numerous restaurants and the lovely parks in the area. Overall good choice. Just make sure to ask for a room that doesn't overlook the courtyard... I did not try the restaurant on-site, but apparently it's good. Give the location and comfortable rooms, I recommend this hotel.

Pros: > An absolutely stunning hotel and property. > Beautiful bar > Amazing restaurant and delicious food. One of the best creme brulee that I've ever had. > Has a very charming decor. > Well located, not in the middle of madness, but close to the gardens and river. Cons: > Rooms, though well decorated, were a bit small. > Slightly pricey for the size of the room.

The Renthof is a small boutique hotel with a lovely restaurant and charming courtyard. The rooms are clean and eclectic with a mix of modern luxury and old-world architecture. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway in Hesse.

It's almost like living in a castle! Love the architectural style! The hotel has a long and interesting history! So glad they are still using the building. The rooms were very comfortable. Unfortunately they do not have AC but they do provide a fan. The rooms facing the courtyard can be noisy if you like quiet. They have receptions and it can get loud. Ask for a room on the other side if you want quiet, or ask if there are any receptions at the same time of your stay. Breakfast is great! Everyone is very friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Definitely going back! The only tiny drawback, you have to pay for parking. But, I would pay it so that I can stay there.
