This Is the perfect choice in Hamburg, beautiful room and wonderful coffee bar and breakfast . Special thanks to the concierge equipe, helping us to find ( and making reservation) nice Places for dinner , a very difficult mission in Hamburg .

The hotels room are very well appointed and comfortable, the buffet breakfast was wonderful with many offerings, the front desk staff was friendly and willing to give us helpful suggestions on where to go and how to get there. The lobby is beautiful as well.

This hotel really needs to step it up as the service and room amenities leave much to be desired. The breakfast staff are unattentive at best. Some 30 minutes after ordering eggs Benedict, and seeing multiple tables being seated and served after us, we finally flagged down a server. It seems our order hadn't even been entered. Management didn't seem that concerned. I had to get up to ask for some espresso to give the poor excuse for a latte some body. When I wrote a chat to the front desk, some chocolates appeared later in our room, but we had such a sour feeling that eating them then would have been ill-advised. That said, the next day, things seemed have improved, but in a 5-star hotel, that it happened at all is rather surprising. The bar is expensive with offhand servers and mind-grating muzak. Lastly the room barely had any drawer or closet space and the large but fairly useless wardrobe had a door that I had to prop closed so the interior light would stay off. I've spent hundreds of nights in Marriott family hotels of all brands. This stay was one of the most disappointing. It does not deserve to be a 5-star hotel, I'm afraid. …

We have stayed at five other top hotels in Hamburg but had not stayed at the Atlantic until this June. Wonderul stay. The Deluxe King room was super spacious for Europe and even with a coutyard view, the room was sunny and bright. The standard rooms are tight. The staff were all very friendly and service was prompt. The location is one of the best in Hamburg being across the street from the larger Alster lake but close to the old center and only a few blocks from main rail station (with grocery shops, food, etc). Put this on your list if you are looking for a grand hotel in Hamburg.

Lovely stay. Chose to stay here because it was used in the James Bond movie 'Tomorrow Never Dies'. Reception staff member kindly showed me the James Bond suite (405-406) and the balcony where the movie scene was filmed, next door to the room I was in, 404! Rooms nice, breakfast good. Nice pool. Hotel slightly tired in places but staff make up for any shortcomings. Kind lady at reception ordered train tickets for me, printed them out and cut them to size to fit in my wallet. This saved me a lot of hassle at the train station. Breakfast staff kindly filled my coffee flask up each morning (and after I had left the breakfast room). Look forward to returning, perhaps to stay in the James Bond Suite!

Written by a very experience hotel-traveller and a very loyal Marriott Rewards Member on Ambassador level status for many years :: Had booked a surprise trip for my wife accompanied by her old childhood girlfriend for a 2 nights stay ! Do to that, I had prepaided the hotel for the room. Upon check-out, the hotel charged my wife for the stay, even though I had paid upfront, meaning we now now had paid twice. As of this, my wife then saw the (high) price paid, resulting in us starting to have an argument, as I had informed her the room was pre-paid by me, and the purpose of getting a happy wife back home, ended in having an angre wife coming home and an argument to resolve. Furthermore it was me who had to contact the hotel, telling them about their mistake - not the hotel being proactive and reaching out. Hotel has confirmed they will “undo” the charges to my wife’s credit card and said sorry for the misunderstanding, but nothing else, no compensation or discount or other anything alike ! We will never ever come back to this hotel due to this very bad experience !…

For my visit to Hamburg I preferred Atlantic Hotel known as one of the oldest and prestigious hotels in district, opened in 1909. The room i stayed was clean, comfortable and spacious enough. The location of the hotel is perfect, looking over Alster and in a walking distance to most famous tourist attractions. I have to mention the night shift receptionist Frances as she was extremely helpful and positive by helping with accessing to garage late evening and ordering food to hotel for suhoor.I think the hotel needs more hospitable receptionist like her.

This hotel was one of the historical and iconic hotels in Hamburg and was very happy I chose to book into this hotel, the Hotel Atlantic Hamburg, an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott. This is located right in front of the Alster lake and it is amazing just walking by the lake. I also was fortunate to get a view of the lake and it was absolutely stunning. The hotel staff were great and were very professional in all aspect. The lobby of the hotel was beautiful and was very nice to have cocktails in the evening or afternoon tea. They do have entertainment music on Friday and Saturday evenings which adds to the nice ambiance. The rooms are very well appointed and generally spaccious by standards. The breakfast room was divine. Overlooking the lake, with lots of amazing food selections in the buffett section. You also have an option to order from the menu if buffet is not to your liking. Location of this hotel is great as you can almost just walk to the city center. But if you don't feel like walking there is a very easy access to cabs and uber or the red bus ( Hop on Hop Off) which I also tried and was great. I would definitely stay here again if I were to come back to Hamburg.…
