When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, the location is great and the reception staff were helpful. Our room was great, we did not spend much time at the hotel due to a short stay in Berlin, we were on a 3 day tourist-type holiday. I only have 3 very minor issues with our room w

My second time at the same hotel since we had a nice time here 5 years ago. Unfortunately the hotel is no longer up to the same standards. The cleaning was not very good. There was mould in the shower. The ventilation didn't work. The room smelled funny, even after having the win

We stayed in this hotel in December 2010.Though the snow was about 20 cm everything was easy because the metro station was right outside the hotel's door.It was clean, warm, cheap and very decent-considering we were there between Christmas and New year's eve.

As the title says this is a basic budget hotel good enough for a few nights.

We are not having breakfast here but there is a fantastic coffee shop about 5 shops up on the left. The sandwiches and pastries in there are amazing and really cheap.

The subway station is outside and

How easy is it to get from Schoenefeld Airport by public transport? Any hints/tips would be grateful accepted
Easy. A short walk from the airport to the train station (just a few hundred metres). Then a train for 30 minutes, change to the subway and a couple of stops, the hotel is at the top of the escalator. it only costs a few euros.

Is there tea/coffee making facilities in all rooms or is it only the comfort rooms?
We had a standard room and there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There is also a supermarket very close by should you need to buy any other refreshments. There is also coffee available in the bar/reception area. Hope this helps.

what is the transport like to and from the hotel and main berlin centre and how much roughly
I bought a 72 hour Welcome card at the airport upon arrival. It cost 30 euros. This covers all transport - underground, train, bus & tram. It's incredibly easy to get around and you don't have to wait long for anything as they are very frequent. There is a U-bahn station litteraly outside the hotel and it is 5 stops to Alexandraplatz which is a great place to connect to virtually everywhere else. Don't book taxis as they'd be a waste of money. At the airport buy a Welcome card and get the train into Berlin. The card also gets you discounts at loads of places and you get a great map and guide book as well. Have fun!
