Just visited with my wife and really enjoyed our stay. Rooms are basic but have all the essentials and are spotless and cleaned each day. Breakfast was included and was a good portion of breads, cold cuts, cheese and salads with a boiled egg. Coffee also provided. The staff were very nice and almost all spoke English. The hotel is... We picked this hotel as it was convenient for Mercedes Benz Arena (formerly o2) and the cafes and restaurants of Hackescher Markt. It is very convenient for U-bahn and S-bahn and the rooms are a side line to the bar and restaurant downstairs. The price for our 3 night stay was very competitive and the room although basic was spotless... More

A hotel perfect placed - as the name says - in the centre of Berlin. You can get to all mayor attractions by foot. If you prefer other forms of transport - the U-bahn has a station just outside the hotel. The hotel is small, but with quite large rooms and bathrooms. Very clean and new towels every day. Good... We were staying at the hotel for 7 days -And it was great! The staff were awesome , very welcoming and nice , The rooms were cleaned daily and had everything you need. The WiFi worked in the rooms as well as in the restaurant downstairs. The location is amazing. The U-bahn station is right outside the hotel , and... More

What a great stay! Very reasonable and the location was perfect, minutes away from Alexanderplatz so easy to get anywhere in the city, and also near a very cool less touristy area in the other direction (check out the little bars around Zionskirchstraße and Clärchens Ballhaus on Auguststraße). Tons of restaurants very near the hotel and we also enjoyed dinner... More

I booked this hotel mainly because of its location, and was deffinitely not disappointed! It is in the middle of the boutiques of Hackescher Markt, a short walk from the S-bahn and U-bahn right outside the hotel door! Walking here from Alexanderplatz is also no problem. The hotel itself is very cozy, the rooms are a good size and located... More

On the ground floor of this hotel is situated the bar/restaurant called Adebar. Once we realised that there is no hotel reception desk, we approached the staff in the restaurant to check in, and that was fine - they had our details and gave us the keys. The bar closes at 1am, and if returning later than that there is... More

This surprising hotel is located in what was the former East Berlin, about five kilometres from the Brandenburg Gate. I expected and would have settled for a mediocre small 2-star hotel in the old East Berlin but what I experienced was the exact opposite. A modern, exceptionally clean, friendly and super-efficient hotel with a staff that simply could not do... More

This little hotel was a real value for money! Spacious and clean rooms above the restaurant, nice bay-windows and huge breakfast! Great location too - right above the Weinmeister Strasse metro station. You just cllimb up the stairs from the station - and you are in front of the hotel. The Adebar -restaurant has good basic food in very big... More

I spent 3 nights here, in July 2014. The staff were always smiling and attentive. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area, not very far from Alexander Platz (a 10 to 15 minute walk), and the best thing is that the Mitte Berlin is exactly between 2 Metro stations (Markisches Museum and Spittelmarkt). My room was ample, modern,... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
