We checked in for 1 night, and while I was checking the Person at the reception named Andrew, was not speaking very clearly to me. I asked him to please repeat what he said, he then started to be short-tempered, and disregarded my requests. I said he was being quite rude and unfriendly. His only response was "No, your rude!"...

I booked this hotel through booking.Com and photos on booking website was very different from my actual room. Instead of normal double room I got twin looking like campus room from the 90'. I asked for hard mattress due to my back problems - they just ignored it. shower curtains had some stains on it and I was really discussing....

During our walk from the S bahn to the hotel (<200m) I was offered drugs, saw hoardes of drunks sunbaking and a guy cutting bike locks. Some call this area as 'alternate' but it obviously attracts alot of unsavoury types. Behind the hotel about 2 blocks down are nice restaraunts and bars, however the immediate vicinity of the hotel is...

I sincerly recommend this place located in the heart of party-berlin! Affordable prices, clean rooms and friendly service. Nearby a lot of concerts, events and good places to eat. I've visited Hotel & Hostel Friedrichshain already three times and never get disappointed :)

This hotel is on the edge of a wonderful location in Berlin. That's true. Unfortunately, you have to walk through a TERRIBLE 200m from the S-bahn station to get to it. We witnessed a mugging, walked through a gauntlet of drug dealers and human traffickers, had someone try to grab my purse, and waded through a street fight in front...

We had all we needed in this hostel. The weather was hot, but they provided a fan. The street was noisy, but the room was the quietist we have had on our trip. The breakfast was ordinary, but optional, so we found great restaurants around the lovely tree lined back streets. No wifi in the rooms, bit space in the...

Hotel Friedrichshain is located in the heart of east Berlin. A minute walk from bars, restaurants, night clubs, and the S+U trains to the city. The location is FANTASTIC. The staff in the hotel were kind but spoke little English. Most spoke Russian, so that's a plus. Didn't try the hotel breakfast. The rooms were big enough. Lacked sufficient lighting,...

Location is amazing & the rooms are clean, which is why I gave it 2 stars. My bed collapsed in the middle of the night & half my mattress was on the floor. I was the only one in the room so was able to use the other bed. I plan on being in Berlin again the fall & will...

This really is a no frills hotel, but still a great location. I stayed in a single room, with a shared bathroom - everything was extremely clean, and bathroom always empty. The staff were friendly. I stayed on a weekend of a football game, so had a room on the top floor; the temperature was really hot, but the gentleman...

This must be the best hostel I've ever been to. I stayed in a room with private bathroom. Everything was super clean, they cleaned everyday. Also very quiet. Location is fantastic as it is close to the metro and the neighborhood itself is nice. It's closed to Simon Dach strasse where you can find any type of bars etc. On...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.

“We had a bathroom for people with disabilities, so the shower was not really comfortable. But the room was clean. The TV is really small and old, and the offer of cable extremely limited, with no chance to look for subtitles. And Wifi doesn´t work in the room.”
