Cheap hotel/guesthouse with shared bathrooms/toilet, relatively close to the center in Berlin. Don't expect too much, but If you don't want to stay in a dorm with 5-6 unknown people, it's definitely a sound choice. The sheets were clean, beds are comfortable(not too hard nor too soft) in our room the windows seemed not properly insulated though-the traffic noise were...

For everyone giving this place a bad review. We got this place for 25 euro a night each. You pay the extra 10 euro a night so you get your own room... the lovely girl at the desk went and got our room ready because we arrived 3 hours before the check in time. 20 euro deposit for the keys...

I stayed in this hostel during my backpacking trip in June 2015. It is very easy to get to due to it being centrally located and Berlin's fabulous public transport system. The hostel was rather spacious and clean. The shower rooms were nice and the private bedrooms were spacious and clean for the price. The only issue was the wifi....

Notice that check-in is not possible after 11PM and you have to pay an additional fee if you arrive after 6PM. Due to wrong informations from hotels.com we were not informed about this. Therefore we were not able to check in the first night and had to find another hostel instead. The receptionist we talked to some days before arrival...

1) It is a pity that you have to pay extra if you arrive after 6, especially as it was due to a traffic jam. 2) There were rats in the alley before the Pension. 3) The pension itself was ok, the hygiene was good. 4) The staff could not help with a parking space, which was unfortunate. 5) The...

The hotel is nice, everything they offer is justifiable regarding the cheap price (but we totally don't recommend breakfast, you can get something much better and cheaped at a bakery close by). The staff is friendly, the rooms clean and the location is also good. The only annoying thing is the missing elevator but it's more than possible - and...

No lift and I was on the 4th floor (5th in US terminology). Just about within walking distance of Museum Island, but on tram route to Alexander Square where tube and S-bahn connections can be made. Staff very helpful with local information and maps. Breakfast laid out in advance on table: egg, rolls, cheese, jam, nutella, yoghurt but coffee self...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
