1) It is a pity that you have to pay extra if you arrive after 6, especially as it was due to a traffic jam. 2) There were rats in the alley before the Pension. 3) The pension itself was ok, the hygiene was good. 4) The staff could not help with a parking space, which was unfortunate. 5) The... The hotel is nice, everything they offer is justifiable regarding the cheap price (but we totally don't recommend breakfast, you can get something much better and cheaped at a bakery close by). The staff is friendly, the rooms clean and the location is also good. The only annoying thing is the missing elevator but it's more than possible - and... More

No lift and I was on the 4th floor (5th in US terminology). Just about within walking distance of Museum Island, but on tram route to Alexander Square where tube and S-bahn connections can be made. Staff very helpful with local information and maps. Breakfast laid out in advance on table: egg, rolls, cheese, jam, nutella, yoghurt but coffee self... More

The location of Pension Intervarko gives this the 3 out of 5 rating. It's around 10-15mins walk to Alexanderplatz, the shopping part of Berlin and around 20 mins walk to the Berlin TV tower. We were greeted with a somewhat unwelcoming receptionist, which straight away gets a mark down for us, it's free to be polite especially to paying customers.... More

Pension Intervarko is OK. Breakfast is cheap but to much budget like. 10 min walk to Alexanderplatz and downtown Prentzlauer Berg. Spacy rooms. Restaurants and public transport and taxis nearby. Fee added when arriving after 6 pm.

Was expected to see hotel, however this is usual hostel, with small rooms, thin walls (so u can hear everything). Additionally shower room is very small and unconvinient especially for tall people!!! The same with toilet, furthermore there one separate shower and 2 toilets for floor! The only one advantage in this hostel is the location, which is really close to Alexanderplatz... More

It was diffecelt to find The staff lack of language proficiency made the communication difficult for both us and them. But they were friendly and tried to do everything to help us. Another challenge was that the reception closed more than 2 hours before the time those who stood at the door until the reception. The beds are pretty good.... More

We were 3 nights in this hostel. It is clean and with tram you can be in 5 min on Alexanderplatz. Only one bath for floor, but really clean. Good option if you only need a room to sleep and a shower with hot water. The furnitures are like the basics of Ikea.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
