I stayed in a double room a bit small but clean, as well as the bathroom, TV, wifi, also equipped with dryers and tissues and courtesy mineral water and candy. The hotel is located in Place of the Luftbrucke where there is a metro station... so in a few minute you can reach all Berlin. Nice staying.

Room was small, but cozy. For this price really good comfort, maybe because of reconstruction of building? It was really noisy when the builders started they work in 7 am. Also noise from street was annoying. Hotel needs new windows :-). Tasty basic breakfast. For this price fair accommodation. Hotel is near to metro and in our favourite Kreuzberg. Staff...

Stayed here for 2 nights as we were going to a concert at the Columbiahalle. About a five minute walk to the Columbiahalle so very convenient for that. Hotel is very basic. Rooms were clean enough though a bit tired in places and bathroom was OK. Beds not very comfortable and the pillows awful. Hot water was a bit hit...

We stayed here because we attended to a concert at the Columbiahalle, so the location is very convenient for that. It's not that close to the centre, but it is well communicated by the underground. There's a stop right at the door, Platz der Luftbrücke, and some bus stops as well. Also good connection with the Schönefeld Airport. The area...

We stayed three nights in Hotel Columbia during the Lollabalooza festival and I have nothing to complain. The room was tidy, the reception was open 24 hours, the breakfast was good enough, the staff was polite and in the bed there was a soft and warm eiderdown. The U-bahn station was just opposite the street and also some nice little...

I really would like to warn you, i did not like my stay at this hotel. It is way too expensive for what you get, or better said ´what you do not get´. This hotel is terrible for several reasons: - Hotel room was not clean at all - Insects in the bathroom - Cold showers - Bad or no...

Great staff very nice and kind people, considering the very strategic position, you can take the metro in 1minute by walk, the price is quite good!! The rooms are small but anyway absolutely confortable, breakfast will be better when become more international and not only in german style, but is ok and the staff is polite. Thanks Luca A

The price reflects the quality fairly well. Our room was small but adequate. Our 'double bed' was two singles pushed together using two single duvets. But we were warm and comfortable. Everything worked and the 12 hours free WiFi was more than enough for our five night stay. Breakfast is a continental style buffet in a lovely sunny room. All...

The staff is very friendly and polite. The hotel is not close to the center of the city but is really well communicated with public transport. The rooms are small and the decoration is outdated but I thinks is not a big problem, the only issue I saw in the room is that there's not a good light in the...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.

“The heating is good, but only if you turn it on. Traffic noise is inevitable by a dual carriageway. However, it is only a problem if you let it. The steady hum can even be companionable.”
