Will not find any nicier people than the ones that operate this place. Any questions about transportation, resturants, sites, they will take the time to help you. And they make you feel very welcomed. The rooms are basic and a good value for the money. The only caveat I would provide is if you are reading the reviews and usually...

We stayed for 3 nights in December 2010 after reading Rick Steeve's book. We did not want to stay in a large name brand hotel. The room was large enough for a family of 5. Breakfast was good. Daisy, who ran the pension and was always on hand with helpful advice and information. She also spoke to us about her...

Very central and the friendly owners give you good advice about anything you need. Rooms are warm and spacious. Breakfast is good - scrambled eggs and lots of other options like ham/cheese/yoghurt etc. Close to public transport connections and overall a great place to stay in Berlin. Try the small pizza place downstairs - its fantastic!

We took Rick Steve's advice, and stayed at Pension Peters. When I walked in the door with his guidebook in hand, Daisy (one of the owners) exclaimed "Rick Steves!" It seems they get a lot of business through him. The room and the bathroom was large and spacious. They were doing some remodeling on the large staircase--but only between 10...

This was my third visit to Pension Peters - and the first since they had their "new" entrance area which had me stumped but one of the managers quickly realised my problem and bounced out to help me! I say bounced because he was a very friendly bouncy sort of chap full of advice about which buses to get (...

I stayed at the Pension Peters in October of 2010 for three nights based on recommendations from Rick Steves and from what I read on Trip Advisor. This place was everything I needed and more. The staff was top notch and willing to help in anyway possible. My room was considered a double even though I had asked for a...

Pension Peters located in the west of the city is old Berlin at its best. Rooms are functional rather than plush but are clean and warm with fresh bedding - all you want when you spend all day out in the city as we did. Good transport links including an S Bhan station a few hundred metres away. Plenty of...

We chose Pension Petres for our first 4 nights of a month-long European tour from a Rick Steves guidebook. We arrived jet-lagged from Raleigh via Heathrow, got on the city bus at Tegel to go to the pension, and I left my backpack on the bus. What a nightmare!! The staff at Pension Peters got on the phone to the...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
