Schlafmeile Hostel is a very nice hostel in Berlin. Food is very good and not so expensive. The location is really good, it's near by Simon Dach Str., where there are many nice restaurants and bars. It's also near by the U-bahnstation Samariterstr. People in the hostel are very kind and every room has a door at the street, which...

I stayed at Schlafmeile for three nights, and over all there was nothing significant about the place to complain about. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable (but squeaky), the kitchen was spacious (though not as clean as it could be), and the restaurant attached, Lindsey's, had wonderful atmosphere, and was free for guests to lounge...

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was exactly what we wanted. We were visiting Berlin to go to the Berghain so only needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours a day. The room was clean, the shower warm and the hostel quiet, Rooms also had large enough lockers for your kit. It's a 5 minute walk to...

Stayed here for 6 days with a group of friends. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. They make a nice cheap breakfast. Room was OK, but apparantly I was sleeping with bedbugs because I'm covered in bites! Only found out when I just got back. Immediatly phoned Schalfmeile and they offered me my money back but didn't sound surprised that...

We stayed at this hostel whilst on our interrailing trip around Europe and this seemed the most affordable hostel in Berlin. The location was pretty central and was only a short S-Bahn ride to anywhere we wanted. The staff were lovely and helpful and accommodated to our needs. The cafe linked with the hostel was cosy and served good food!...

It's a 5-10 minute walk from the stations, the receptionist was super friendly, and the room was cosy and nice! The little downside was there was no internet in the rooms, and we had to go to the kitchen (which was closed at midnight) for internet. Would come again! :)

We booked the 3 bed private room for 3 nights in august. Check-in is at the little bar on the corner of the street and we were shown to our room. It was tucked away and away from the main street. The room was a nice size and the shower room was a wet room. Great shower pressure! So great...

Stayed here for 2 nights. Check in is at the bar on the corner and the rooms are up the side of the street. When I arrived, I was taken to the room but it wasn't quite clear which bed was free. 20 mins later the matter was resolved and I fortunately had been allocated a single bed rather than...

I had a great time staying here. Food in the cafe was great but there is always a common kitchen to use when you want to fix yourself something. Staff was very friendly and gave me some tips how to move around. Close to U-Bahn station and tram stops. Room was alright; maybe not perfectly clean but it's understandable and...

I spent 2 nights in this hostel with 5 my friends. We had a nice room without bathroom but bathroom was very close to our room. Bathroom was clean, room was ok and we enjoyed our stay very much. It's about 30 minutes by s bahn from Berlin ZOB and 15 minutes walk from Warschauer Strasse.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
