What you see on the webside and what you get in reality - 2 different places to stay. More hostel than hotel, which is fine, but say it. Very worn-out room with lot of dust and not clean bathroom. Very poor wifi, breakfast standard. Good connection downtown.

The room is very basic, clean and comfortable and of decent size. Great location; just opposite to the bus stop and a 4-5 min walk from the metro station. The neighboring street has parking spaces; the hotel parking has very small number of parking spaces and costs extra 7 euro per day. Breakfast is included and good. Free wifi in... More

We found the staff to be quite abrupt however the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. Location was ideal, not in the thick of it but literally a stone's throw from the bus stop to take you to the Europa Centre and Kurfurstendamm for all the shops and Kaiser Wilhelm church. You can also pick up a variety... More

Generally I am not one to spend a lot of money on hotel rooms, as long as they are clean with a good bed and shower is all I really need. we booked this hotel way in advance for CL final weekend and it cost £250 for 4 nights in a twin with another person. This is a basic hotel just... More

+ Good relation price/service. V close to Charlottenburg Palace. Family atmosphere at breakfast - Beware of sharp corners of bed (cover them with towels to avoid bruises rooms are small and collission likely ;-) - night lamp not light enough for comfortable reading - bulb change could solve the problem Despite of above - I recommend

I think this hotel can be of use if you are on a tight budget. The room was fine, but the bathroom was narrow and the shower curtain needs some redesign. However the worst aspect about the hotel was the lack of air conditioning. This was really bad on a hot and humid day. The staff however were very nice... More

Think twice if you decide to stay at this hotel. The location itself is certainly great, and the hotel is only a five-minute walk from the nearest U-bahn station and less than a mile from the Charlottenburg castle and its estate. BUT: Otto-Suhr- Allee happens to be one of Berlin's busiest avenues with incessant heavy traffic and horrible street noise.... More

Booked this hotel for a group on Berlin Marathon weekend and due to lack of availability elsewhere! Location: About 5 mins walk to Richard Wagner-Platz or a little further to Deutsch Oper this hotel is just outside the centre and just a couple of stops or short bus ride (bus stops outside the hotel) from Zoo. So a shortish ride... More

I stayed at the Arktur for a couple of nights in early September. Because of the IFA-Show at the same time they charged a much higher price than they normally would. The room I stayed in was on the first floor. It was quite large - that was the good part. The negatives: The hotel is at a busy road... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
