My fiancée and I wanted to go to the rooftop but have been stopped by the doorman at the entrance of the hotel. He said it was closed eventhough it was clearly not. We even called the hotel later and they said it was open. As mentionned above by someone else, we did not feel welcome for some reason.
We stayed in late August and overall liked the hotel, especially the location, which was really good for sightseeing. However, there were a few niggles which detracted from the 5 star experience. Firstly, the air-conditioning in our room didn't seem to be working properly. We like our room quite cold and both struggled to sleep on the first night so we notified reception next morning. When we returned later, the room was nice and cool and we had a much better sleep. So far so good. However, the next day (and night) the aircon seemed to have reverted and the room was warm again. We complained on both of our remaining days but this didn't change. Very disappointed with this as our stay was fairly expensive and, for the money we paid, we expected perfection. There was also some confusion around housekeeping and restaurant booking, which were other small niggles which shouldn't have occurred in a 5 star establishment. The staff were warm and friendly, and seemed to be trying to help but, in the end, we had 3 relatively poor nights sleep out of 4, which was such a shame. Finally, our private terrace had only one sun lounger, which wasn't ideal really.…
Certainly a luxury place for louis vuitton fans, u usual design, open spaces, great food (little low fat items), grear service. Somehow they leave tables unattended when guest leave, and birds have a feast. Guest feed them too, making surec they are coming back, understanding that this is. Great food source. Interesting.
I didn’t counted it but it was approx our 5th stay at Hotel d Rome. Earlier check-in with up-grade compensated by 70,- Euro night for our dog ... staff at reception was friendly and professional - same for room service and doormen. At breakfast staff seemed (as during our previous stays) a little bit stressed. Soon rooms should be up-dated but the over all state is more than acceptable. - my preferred hotel in Berlin - great location - such a nice roof terrace with good drinks and staff
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly, empathetic and accommodating. Exactly what you would expect from a luxury hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the menu included numerous healthy options. The tomatoes used in the omelet were to die for. As well, the caprese salad was divine. I do recommend to make a reservation for breakfast in order to get a spot outside. Rooms were stylish, spacious and comfortable. A nice touch was a complementary disposable face mask. The rooftop was a big highlight. Again with great staff, great views and comfortable seating. I highly recommend the “Life is Peachy” cocktail and again to make a reservation on the rooftop terrace, which has a terrific view. We rented bikes for the full 3 days, which was extremely handy. Berlin is a bike-friendly city, which in combination with the hotel’s location makes for a great trip. Would definitely stay here again. …
