Great location for visiting the tourist sights in Berlin. Over looks the River Spree so a few good restaurants around the area within walking distance. Hotel was spotlessly clean with large bright rooms and friendly Staff. Easy access from Tegal Airport - cost us less than E25 each way The downsides for me were no Tea/Coffee facilities in the room,... More

Very central hotel, just a short walk from Friedrichstrasse station. Staff were helpful and friendly, Quite a few restaurants nearby too. We had drinks in the bar a few times after we got in from our night out.

I really would like to give this hotel 5 stars - superb central location, overlooking the river, friendly and helpful staff and first rate rooms. We needed a disabled room and this was very good, with a wet room fully equipped and with plenty of space for a wheelchair. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with an enormous range of goodies... the location of this hotel is excellent. Easy walking distance from Friedrichstrasse station, on the banks of the River Spree so easy to walk to many central locations. Staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. The only negative was the offer at check-in to upgrade room and have complimentary breakfast. This was not good value. Only then was the option of... Excellent hotel location for Berlin's must see museums and places. Great position from Schonefeld airport due to good rail link. Most places were in easy walking distance. Rooms spacious and very clean. Breakfast choice was exceptional, with good choice of various breakfast options. Cafe Madrid complemented rest of hotel well, but we felt the "Ibiza" lounge on ground floor area did... More

This is a great hotel, good location, easy to get to all the tourist attractions. Great rooms, plenty of room and beautifully fitted. Staff were most helpful. Only two downsides: 1. No tea/coffee making facility in the room 2. The Wi-Fi is very poor. Slow and not always reliable. The 'free' facility is for one unit only and did not... More

WiFi was a bit on the slow side but didn't use it much. A premium is charged (from your second booking at the... More

This friendly, luxurious & modern hotel is let down by an antiquated wifi policy. This is a shame as in all other respects, it's a great hotel. Rooms for disabled visitors have plenty of space for wheelchairs and lots of thoughtful features, like light switches & door eyeholes at seated level. Staff are friendly and helpful, with excellent English. The... More

Perfect We could not fault anything in this hotel (other than occasional slow wifi) - the helpful staff, the rooms, the cleanliness, the soundproofing, the beds, the breakfasts, the bar - everything was perfect. The location is excellent - right on the river Spree, very close to a number of riverside restaurants and a short walk from a cute ‘beach... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
