I have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions on an annual business trip to Berlin - the staff is so efficient, professional and helpful and the location is wonderful - you truly feel like you are experiencing the hospitality of Berlin!

Good location in Mitte, clean, spacious, good beds, modern bathrooms. Staff was also nice but little bit out of it. Went just for the good price, and location. Would be surprised if I ever found myself from this hotel again.

We are staying at the Melia Hotel in Berlin and the location is fantastic for anyone visiting the city for the first time. The hotel is extremely comfortable, modern and clean with superb breakfast offering and a relaxing Tapas restaurant for the evening.

Recently stayed here for the third year in a row when in town for travel show. Normally I would never keep coming back to the same place in a city like Berlin, but I can't quit the Melia! Perfect location, Friedrichstrasse station literally across the street, theatre on the other side of the street where you can get last minute...

We picked Berlin for a few days away as wanted to see what it had to offer and as someone who goes to Spain regularly, picked the trusted Melia brand and wasn't disappointed. Hotel was just across the road from the Fredrickstrasse rail station. Check in was very prompt and having booked on the telephone and explained it was a...

This is a lovely clean and comfortable hotel in a great location, not far from some lovely bars and restaurants. It's also right beside the underground station so great for getting round the rest of Berlin. Staff were also very friendly. Only thing that could be improved would be tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

The hotel was superb with friendly, professional and efficient staff. Also very well situated for all sight-seeing requirements. Food excellent. We would certainly use this hotel again and have no hesitation...

We stayed here to be close to the Pergamon Museum, then I got pneumonia and had to spend more time in the hotel. Our room was a good size with a window looking out onto the river. Transportation to other parts of Berlin was easy by bus, tram and underground. Best of all was breakfast. Everything you could want --...

The hotel is located right on the Spree, which is nice. The check in process on Sunday night was very messy, but I assume that the person is a temporary/new employee. The room was clean and a decent size. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't a kettle to make some tea.

Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Room very good size, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Gym and sauna excellent. Breakfast wonderful huge range everyone catered for. Hotel Bar not always open and not a great ambience as seems to be in the reception area. There was a function on when we tried to use it and we were not made...

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
