Best hotel we experienced during our travels around Europe and one of the cheapest!!! We were fortunate enough to also receive 15 euro per day to spend at the hotel using a coupon i received when booking through the hotel website. We used the total 45euro at the hotel restaurant which supplied us with a delicious and tasty tapas dinner... More

Stayed three nights at the Melia Berlin as part of a long weekend in the city. Overall the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and ours offered a great view over the river Spree. The room was clean, though housekeeping wasn't the best - e.g., used glasses were not removed from the room when cleaned. Breakfast was excellent with superb variety.... More

Stayed for three nights with my son in a twin bedded room. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped, including a hairdryer which worked quite well. Bath is very small though. Our room overlooked a central courtyard area which meant it was quiet. It would have been nice to have had a welcome tray and decent... More

Location was ok. We tossed up between using the train to go only one station or to walk. We walked about 30 mins with suitcases as per recommendation from a German couple we met on the train. It was a good walk; all level, straight road, in the middle of the day so was ok. Breakfast was very good -... More

A very modern, clean hotel. Rooms are relatively big, and the service is outstanding. The location is convenient. However, it's loud outside at night due to Friedrichstrasse is a very busy street, 24/7.

Stayed here 4 nights. Great hotel, accommodating staff, fantastic location and worth paying a bit extra to get into the Level (tapas lounge) for unlimited drink and snacks. Would come again :) very close to restaurants and the metro as well as train station. Felt like tourist attractions weren't too far to get to from this hotel.

This Hotel makes a good name for the Melia brand, quality and service are just great. Only disappointed about the Wifi connection... you have to pay per hour.. seriously??? Anyway, breakfast was just great. room superb and people nice and really welcoming... Besides is really well placed, 15 mins to Brandenburg Gate, 1 min to U-banh (tube) and many places... More

Melia Berlin hotel is a lovely hotel and excellently located along the river Spree. The reception is efficient and the room are accessible through two elevator bays. I had a suite room and it was spacious with more storage areas than I needed in my short stay. The amenities were complete and toiletries in order. However only coffee was available,... More

The Melia Berlin is located within walking distance of the SBahn. It is also adjacent to four major museums which were all outstanding. The staff is very professional, helpful, and friendly. The rooms are spacious, well laid out, and always kept well-supplied and in order. The Concierge was very helpful in advising us how best to see the sites with... More

Superb location, next to the river and a number of good bars and restaurants, and within easy reach of several landmark's, including the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag building. Breakfast is superb, amongst the best I have ever had in a hotel.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
