We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was great at a good offer for rewards clients. The location is perfect. We would always come back. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had dinner at the taps restaurant and can recommend it highly.

This hotel was spot on for what we needed. Perfect location in Mitte, with easy access for sightseeing, bars, restaurants and transport. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful, there was an attractive bar in the foyer and the room was lovely - spacious, clean, modern and very comfortable and quiet. The only very slight disappointment was lack of... More

For our short stay in Berlin I chose the Meliá hotel based on its location. We we're flying back home again at 6AM, so I wanted to make sure we'd be able to catch an early train as easy as possible. The Meliá is right across from the big Friedrichstrasse train/underground hub so that was perfect. I booked quite a... More

As it was my husbands birthday during the trip, the hotel upgraded us to a king-sized bedroom with a view of the river and also threw in a bottle of house bubbly on our first night! The room was spacious and clean, and although I usually prefer a quiet room, the general traffic noise dies down at around 10pm onwards... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in August 2016. Hotel is very nice but the staff didn't seem to be very friendly, we experienced a few problems and the staff didn't seem to care or were not interested. Strangely we wondered if it was an issue with the English because a woman in the bar area ( another guest) walked up... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the Melia. The location was excellent and close to all the city sights. The room was really big and decorated lovely and had the finishing touches that you would expect. The staff were very helpful and always smiling. I would certainly go back there if I was staying in Berlin again.

Myself and my partner spent 4 nights in this hotel in August. We selected early arrival so there was no problem checking in before 12:00. It was great to be able to ditch the suitcases and spend the rest of our first day exploring Berlin. All the staff were very friendly and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble for them.... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
