My fiancé and I stayed here last April for 5 nights. It was perfectly located in walking distance of all of the main attractions in Berlin, museum island was just a 15minutes walk up the river. The service in the hotel we could not fault. Friendly staff, immaculate rooms, breakfast was unbelievable with champagne and so much choice! We have...

The employee knew from my booking details that I was 2m tall, but I got a small (double bedroom) room. We visited the hotel with six colleagues of which I had the smallest room. The hotel room was warm, even in winter with the heating off. The bed and pillows were very soft. The restaurant service and food was excellent,...

Excellent location near an U Bahn station. Direct link to airport Schonefeld. 10 mins walk to Brandenburg Gate / Alexander Platz / other major sites. Helpful staff / quick service. Slightly dated rooms and hotel undergoing refurbishment. Nice sized rooms and very clean. Brilliant breakfast buffet. Slightly characterless but very suitable as a comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed our...

I'm never sure about hotel reviews i.e. are you reviewing it as a hotel to give 1-5, or as a hotel of this rating. Either way this get 4 as there are cheaper and more expensive hotels, but for couples and families I think this would be difficult to better in terms of value and location. This is a short...

This hotel is in a great location for exploring the sights of Berlin. 2 minutes walk from Friedrichstrasse station and right beside the river. The staff were really helpful and my daughter was delighted to receive a teddy bear when we checked in. The room was large and comfortable and clean and the bathroom was really big too. Breakfast was...

Modern hotel in great location. Resonably sized and comfortable rooms although king size bed consisted of 2 singles pushed together. Mini bar in room but no tea/coffee making facilities. Good breakfast with wide range of options.

Great hotel. Fabulous location short river walk along to museum island and the cathedral. Probably another 20 minutes from there to checkpoint Charlie. Brandenburg Gate is a slightly longer walk. We loved the facilities of The Level in the hotel. Free soft drinks and snacks throughout the day then soup and larger snacks early evening when in addition to beer...

Excellent hotel for a trip to Berlin. Location is its main selling point. Literally a 1 minute walk from the main Friedrichstraße station, where you can get a direct 30 min train from schönefeld airport. This made travelling anywhere ridiculously easy. You can walk down the main Street or over the river to some fantastic restaurants in Mitte too. It's...

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
