This hotel experience is maybe better if you upgrade to The Level but otherwise this hotel is not more than 3-star in my book. I travel a lot in my work and there are other better options in Berlin for the money. The location is good - not great. It is close to train station and subway so that is convenient and a lot of shops in the area. However, I think there are nicer areas to stay in when you visit Berlin. Pros: Spacious and clean room. I stayed in a regular Melia-room facing the street. On 3rd floor there was some noise from the street but not so much that I was disturbed even though I am sensitive to noise. Pillows, duvet and sheets are nice. Nice and generous amenities in bathroom Bathtub in room. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower. Cons: The room decor is boring and not very cosy. There is no power socket by the beds so if you want to charge a phone, smartwatch etc you can´t do that by the bed. No coffee, tea, robe or slippers in the room. This is usually available on other 4-star hotels in Berlin. Poor wi-fi and wired network not available. The restaurant that was previously in this hotel is closed. Also the hotel bar has a sign that says it is closed. Only the tapas bar is open. Room service not worth the money. Also, it was hard to reach so I ended up going down to the reception to order.

Having stayed in this hotel last March and I was going to a gig in Berlin so decided to stay here again. Check in as usual was very prompt and the trainee guy noticed that it was my birthday and wished me well which was nice. I was given a free upgrade to a premium room which had a river view that was beautiful. Having been in the room for maybe half an hour or so I heard my door knock and asked who was it, room service the guy said and he said here is a compilmentary bottle of wine for your birthday with a letter which was hand signed and he wished me happy birthday. I thought this was an extremely nice touch and was very much appreciated. My only complaint would be is that I wish I had stayed another night as I hardly spent anytime in the room apart from sleeping! Would I go back to the Melia Berlin, absolutely!! Thank you

This is by far one of my favourite hotels I’ve stopped in. The staff were very friendly and really helpful. The rooms were huge, well equipped and very clean. The price of the hotel was very good for what you get and the location couldn’t of been more perfect
